The People's Hero Posted 18 July 2008 Share Posted 18 July 2008 U2 - With Or Without You That's true. Every U2 song makes me feel like crying. What about REM - Everybody Hurts. That's a classic. 10cc - I'm not in love. (that is un classique).

Guest Posted 18 July 2008 Share Posted 18 July 2008 There are only two songs that I have to leave the room, otherwise I will blub like a baby. Art Garfunkel - Bright Eyes Even 28, yes, 28 years I still see the ickle bunny being run over, and cry. Haircut 100 - Fantastic Day It was the last song I heard on the radio as Dad drove us to the train station for the 92 Play Off Final. I thought it was an omen. I was wrong. It went round and round my head all the way home from Wembley, and I have not been able to listen to that song since without bursting into tears. Believe it or not, I am crying now at the thought of that song. I am such a soft sap.

Guest Posted 20 July 2008 Share Posted 20 July 2008 I want that played at my funeral. If it doesn't get people crying then nothing will! I have the same thing with Dexys "Come on Eileen". I hope that nobody will be able to listen to it ever again, possibly the worst record of all time, ever.
Sparky Posted 20 July 2008 Share Posted 20 July 2008 All Quiet On The Western Front - Elton John. (As the father of three sons it always reminds me of the ultimate sacrifice made made by so many young soldiers)Abide With Me Old Dogs and Children and Watermelon Wine I Will Always Love You - Whitney Houston I chose the songs to be played at my dads funeral back in 1990 when i was 10 , he was big football fan and would always sit down infront of the cup final in time for it to be played so i chose it for the funeral. My lifelong wish to this day is to be able to sing it at the F A cup final watching city , although the chances are pretty slim

Joe. Posted 21 July 2008 Share Posted 21 July 2008 Tears in Heaven is a good shout. All because of why the song was written in the first place. For me personally there's only one standout song, Lionel Richie's Goodbye. My Granny made all the songs for her funeral before she died and this was the main one. Definitely not one of the best to hear at a funeral lyrics wise if it's somebody close.
