http://news-hound.org/5-month-old-baby-left-in-car-seat-for-8-days-no-food-water-or-diaper-changes-dies/

Five month old Benjamin Sargent was dropped off at his mom and dad’s house strapped into his car seat. He was found in that same position 8 days later. Benjamin had died from an infection caused by feces in his diaper that eventually ate through his skin. This was a result of him lying in his own waste and not being changed for eight days.

Tracy Hermann and James Sargent, not only neglected to change their son’s diaper, but also neglected to feed him. The five-month baby only weighed 2 pounds more then he weighed at birth when he was found. Little Benjamin died with his eyes open, his fists clenched and strapped into his car seat after eight days without food or water. State Attorney Kevin Lyons said the parents simply left little Benjamin in his crib, strapped to his car seat, while they played video games, slept and ate. Police interviewed the father who at first told them he had moved the baby a couple of times, but later conceded that he might not have moved Benjamin at all during that week. The mother allegedly told the police she looked at the baby in the crib and presumed he was sleeping, so she said she stuck a bottle between the baby and the side of the car seat so that when he woke up he could grab it to feed himself. Lyons stated that James Sargent, 23, showed a complete and total lack of remorse for the death of his son. A Peoria County Judge sentenced Sargent to the maximum of 100 years in prison. Tracy Hermann, 21, was sentenced to 50 years after she pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the death of her son Benjamin. She will have to serve her entire sentence.

Sikhs accuse Britain of 'sacrilege' after Golden Temple massacre advice confirmed The Foreign Secretary has told MPs that Britain only had "limited impact" on a military operation in India which led to the 1984 Amritsar massacre

Sikh leaders said on Tuesday that Britain had been party to ’sacrilege’ after it was revealed a UK military adviser had urged India use a helicopter operation and special forces to break the separatist occupation of Amritsar’s Golden Temple.

A Government investigation into British involvement in the 1984 crisis found the adviser had travelled to India and suggested a surprise attack using helicopter-borne forces.

But the investigation concluded the British advice had had “limited impact" on the later storming of the temple complex which left hundreds dead.

The inquiry led by the Cabinet Secretary was launched after documents released under the 30-year-rule last month revealed an SAS officer had been drafted in to help Indian plans to remove dissident Sikhs from the Golden Temple at Amritsar, Sikhism’s holiest shrine.

William Hague, Foreign Secretary, told Parliament that the investigation had confirmed a military adviser had travelled to India in February 1984 after an urgent appeal for help from India.

He advised military action should only be taken “as a last resort, when all attempts at negotiation had failed".

He also advised that any military option should involve a surprise attack using helicopter-borne troops “in the interests of reducing casualties and bringing about a swift resolution".

Mr Hague said the investigation found “the nature of the UK’s assistance was purely advisory, limited and provided to the Indian government at an early stage".

"It had limited impact on the tragic events that unfolded at the temple three months later; that there was no link between the provision of this advice and defence sales and there is no record of the (British) government receiving advance notice of the operation.â€

The adviser’s suggestion was eventually ignored when in June 1984 the Indian Army launched Operation Blue Star which left 492 civilians dead and led to some of the worst communal violence in the history of modern India.

Indira Gandhi, the Indian prime minister, was assassinated by her Sikh bodyguards months later, which in turn led to the massacre of 8,000 Sikhs in riots throughout northern India.

Britain’s role in providing initial advice to Mrs Gandhi emerged last month when letters between senior home and foreign office officials were "inadvertently†released under the 30 year rule.

They confirmed that Mrs Margaret Thatcher, then Prime Minister, had approved an Indian government request for advice on how to end the occupation by heavily armed Sikh nationalists.

David Cameron, the Prime Minister, said the disclosures had raised “very real concerns†and ordered an inquiry by Jeremy Heywood, the Cabinet Secretary, to establish the facts.

The military adviser had visited Amritsar in February 1984 and urged the Indian government to drop special forces paramilitaries by helicopter and co-ordinate night operations by special forces and paramilitaries to maximise “surprise and momentum.â€

The Indian government was then planning an ’orthodox paramilitary style’ frontal assault, but the British military advisor said it should instead identify “sufficient helicopters, and the capability to insert troops by helicopter, as critical requirements.â€

No practical assistance, training or equipment, was offered, Mr Haywood reported, and the advisor had stressed that his proposal was intended only as a “last resort".

Mr Hague said the report revealed that Britain’s assistance was “purely advisory, limited and provided to the Indian Government at an early stage in their planning.â€

He said the advice offered had “limited impact on Operation Blue Star†and that he hoped the report will reassure the Sikh community. “Nothing can undo the loss of life and the suffering caused by the tragic events at Sri Harmandir Sahib [the Golden Temple],†he said.

The disclosure of the detailed advice offered to India was condemned however by the Shiromai Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, the ruling body of Sikhism’s holiest shrine.

"The attack on the Golden Temple was a sacrilege and all those who were a party to it have hurt the religious sentiments of millions of Sikhs. We condemn the role of British government, which helped the Indian government to conspire and attack the temple.

"The British government has cheated the Sikhs by advising the Indian government to raid the temple with helicopters. They shouldn’t have advised or helped the government of India,†said S. Dalmegh Singh, the committee secretary.

Kanwarpal Singh of the Dal Khalsa separatist group said the disclosures meant Britain must share the blame for the final operation and apologise for “conniving with the invaders.â€

That's not quite the case, the British made battle plans to attack a religious minority on foriegn soil.  There are documents shown that British were complicent in the subjegation of the Sikhs post 1984 at the request of the Indian Government.  Also the British were aware of the attack, yet they allowed British SIkhs to fly from Britain putting there own people at risks.  Letters between Margerat Thatcher and Indira Gandhi have shown that discussions were ongoing between Britian as to the 'Sikh Problem'.  The facts are that SIkhs in the the Golden Temple posed no threat to national security etc, and Britain knew this and Britain assisted in providing technical support and offered military training for the plan, for the attack that was one of the worst genocides of that century.  In 2009 Britain destroyed vital documents, why last minute, 2 days before the disclosure David Cameron change the terms of reference of the enquiry and narrowed it massively?  Something is not right?

David Cameron should do the right thing, and allow full disclosure.

There are many sites that have all the facts if your interested, infact there are over 50 MP's lobbying for full disclosure on grounds Britian being complicit in an illegal attack!

Thanks for the additional info. Certainly sound dubious to say the least.

I can't see how somebody can put so much force into a punch against a vulnerable man, then just walk away and leave him for dead. Horrible to watch the video, absolutely enraging.

absolutely sickening . sometimes i think i can't be shocked anymore and then i see things like this .

I'm not sure what's more unsurpising.

A guy doing that to a disabled guy in the street or the inevitable pisstake sentence handed down by the judge.
