NewquayFox Posted 30 August 2008 Posted 30 August 2008 After all the rubbish we have had to put up with over the last few seasons it is brilliant to have the footballers who are getting their names in the headlines and not the Managers or Chairman, and the main reason for that is Pearson. Keeping his head down and doing a fantastic job by getting City playing attractive football and not making an Eeejhit of himself giving stupid pre and post match comments, this could be a new (O Neill) era for City. Come on City ;0)

NewquayFox Posted 30 August 2008 Author Posted 30 August 2008 Think i would be miserable if my nose was that big ;0) Should have gone for the Steve Bruce model.

Come on City ;0) I'm liking it, I'm liking it alot, BUT with every new manager someone always has to saying "This could be the new MON". I'm not joking i'm quite confident that every manager that been manager here since MOn has been called the new MON, only for 5 months down the line be labeled the worst LCFC manager in history. I'm enjoying it, Today's game has been amazing, so far this season has been amazing, but over the last few years certainly i've finally learnt not to get over excited, not to expect too much, e.t.c, and basically i'm taking it game by game. But at the moment yes Pearson is becoming (Probably already become tbf compared to the managers we have had recently) our best manager in recent years.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 30 August 2008 Posted 30 August 2008 With how Pearson conducts himself in interviews etc, his style of play, playing a very good blend of youth & experience and just about everything else the man does, I now understand why the Saints fans wanted to keep him so badly. I know it's (very) early days, but I'm loving Pearson.
DanTheFox07 Posted 30 August 2008 Posted 30 August 2008 Before everyone gets excited bout pearson being the mastermind behind our recent success, when u talk about us playing attarctive football etc! I would Say that Craig shakespere is the mastermind behind in Leicester`s reasurgance. Pearson No doubt has been infulential in decision`s bringing in players to the club and so far the balance in the side has been very good, we actually have wingers that can hurt defences with goals and crosses and Oakley and king are building a good partnership in the middle of the park. I think we have got the blend of youth and experience spot on and with clemence, kisnorbo and mattock all still to return I look forward to the rest of the season with a lot of optimism. Keep The Faith!

norfolkfox222 Posted 30 August 2008 Posted 30 August 2008 YEH isnt it amazing!! Its also been a while since we heard anything from out press happy chairman!! Feels really really good!!! Well Done Nige!! When your smiling!!!!!! !!!!!!
Durnerz Posted 30 August 2008 Posted 30 August 2008 There will never be another MON. Pearson however isn't doing a bad job at implementing the same hard working style with a touch of flair that the great one was famous for at City. Agree with the initial poster, we've had too many media whores at this club trying to sell it and maintain that we are big while letting the basics suffer in the process, Pearson maintains the realistic outlook and demands more constantly, the sign of a good manager. Keep it up Nige and the team!
DanTheFox07 Posted 30 August 2008 Posted 30 August 2008 Why Craig Shakespeare? because he is our coach, responsible for our style of football...... hence why we are doing well!
Nugent Posted 30 August 2008 Posted 30 August 2008 Still early days , but he's doing a really good job so far.
Salieri Posted 30 August 2008 Posted 30 August 2008 Whilst i agree NP is doing a great job so far, let us not forget we are in league 1. We were touted as second favourites for the title for a reason, we were expected to be winning games and doing well. The most refreshing thing however is the manner of the victories. We are now actually playing very good, attacking football. If we carry on in the same vein then promotion should be a near certainty. If (as i expect we will be) we find ourself back in the Championship next season, then, i believe we will properly see just how good a manager NP really is. With the players at our disposal, only a very poor manager would fail to at least make the play offs in this division. Comparisons made to MON are at best vastly premature. What he achieved in his time here was nothing short of miraculous and it is unfair to even begin to make comparisons at this stage. A resounding victory today, top of the league, don't get me wrong i'm over the moon with the way things are going but its the bigger picture i'm interested in and if NP leads us back into the Premier League within the next 2 or 3 years then he will merit being mentioned in the same breath as the great man.
The Stig Posted 30 August 2008 Posted 30 August 2008 With Leicester City I'm always careful not to celebrate early as it could always go tits up, but at the moment he's doing a da,n fine job. And it wasn't an easy job to take up in the first place. Well done Nigel, the Nigeometer is on fire.
Salieri Posted 30 August 2008 Posted 30 August 2008 P.S loving your avatar Newquay Fox. Hypnotic.......
Corky Posted 30 August 2008 Posted 30 August 2008 I really like this bloke. No "funny" quips, no stupid predictions, just quiet determination to get on with the job and be successful. He's also a man you want to see do well. He had a tough job on here, so to win over many sceptical fans within three weeks of the season is a superb achievement. Long may it continue.
Unabomber Posted 30 August 2008 Posted 30 August 2008 Manager of the month for August then? Would have thought so, although will be close between him, Sheridan and Ward.
Ozwin Posted 30 August 2008 Posted 30 August 2008 He's a miserable git, says the same things every post match interview but I suppose it's better than Holloway'isms which don't really make sense.
PlasticKiwi Posted 30 August 2008 Posted 30 August 2008 The new MON is a huge call so early in the piece
lildave3 Posted 30 August 2008 Posted 30 August 2008 He's made everyone a hero again. Including himself. I have to say, I wasn't too impressed when we appointed him but he's won me over big time. Love the guy now.

Love the guy now. I have to admit, neither was I. I thought he'd be gone by September and the whole managerial merry-go-round would continue. Thankfully I was wrong. Shrewd dealings in the transfer market, a good blend of youth and experience, tactical nous, attractive football and he seems to have the players believing in themselves for the first time in ages. Early days, but I have the feeling that Nigel Pearson will be a name remembered fondly by City fans in years to come.

Bert Posted 30 August 2008 Posted 30 August 2008 I'm loving the start he's made so far, as it's all about the team, and he's basing everything on, the team, which isn't just the players, it's the backroom staff etc too. I like how he's not getting too carried away too, he knows it was a great win today, but he also knows, that we haven't reached our target yet, and that we need to stay focused.
