Keegan Gone!

Got to applaud Keegan for making a stand and what seems to be a resignation because a chairman is meddling and making managerial decisions, fair play to the bloke, he could have easily just sat there and let it all happen and carry on.

The reports I've read suggest that he has been sacked. If so, I am pretty disgusted. But not suprised. Will anything ever change at that club?

I don't like to wish relegation on any club because we all know how it feels, however I still laugh when certain teams are in the shite. Newcastle are a joke, I hope Dennis Wise does take over, I hope Dennis Wise get them relegated, I hope Dennis Wise is the worst Newcastle manager in there history and no-one will touch him with a bargepole thereafter.

Not sure what is going on as I have the TV on mute and the radio on but according to Sky Sports News:

BREAKING NEWS: Kevin Keegan has not been sacked by Newcastle United.

So not sure what's going on, Whether that means Newcastle havn't sacked him but Keegan has resigned i'm not sure - Although I would have thought it would just say he has resigned if that's the case.

:dunno:

Kevin Keegan - Official NUFC Statement

0,,10278~3744796,00.gif

NEWCASTLE United can confirm that meetings between members of the Board and manager Kevin Keegan were held both yesterday and today.

Kevin has raised a number of issues and those have been discussed with him.

The Club wants to keep progressing with its long-term strategy and would like to stress that Kevin is extremely important, both now and in the future.

Newcastle United values the effort and commitment shown by Kevin since his return to St. James' Park and wants him to continue to play an instrumental role as manager of the Club.

For the avoidance of doubt the Club has not sacked Kevin Keegan as manager.

What a load of bollcks. First they bring in Dennis Wise, then try their best to undermine him.

Ashley is just Freddy Sheppard with more hair.

Would like to see Dennis Wise take the job on. Then crash and burn.

No, not at Newcastle. Let him go to Man Utd or Chelsea, then crash and burn :cool:

Rumour I heard is that he disagreed with Wise about the signings yesterday, Llambias signed Wise's players and told Keegan to like it or leave, being Keegan it was the latter, then Mike Ashley wants to keep Keegan at the club because he knows its suicide for his popularity otherwise. If it were any club other than us or Newcastle, it would be far too convoluted to be believable, but as it is...

Newcastle are well on the way to becoming the next Leeds.

But any club foolish enough to make the poison dwarf an executive director (football) deserves everything that's coming to it.

Hardly. Keegan was kippered by his employers and the remarkable thing is that he put up with it for so long.

I said when they appointed him,he would only last 3 months - it looks as though he actually will manage 5 ( open season that is )

As i also said when they appointed him - it was all about money with him - he'd rather be on the golf course !!!!!!!

Still £8 million for 5 months work - better than a kick in a Geordies back side !!!!!!!!!

Enough to finally stick to his word and finally turn his back on the game thats made him -- we'll see !!!!!!!!
