I think Powell was always meant to be just a short term stop gap until we could sort out a proper left back. Berner's signed for two years, Powell signed for six months. If you take Powell out of the equation with have Mattock and Berner as left-backs. Job done.

Well Tunchev isn't a natural left back and will take the place of Hobbs when he returns to Liverpool at the end of the season. And Mattock isn't actually very good as a left back and will probably be sold.
