Uncle Albert Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Basically was talking to a few friends the other day, we got bored, the conversation inevitably moved onto football. The we started talking about what player is the inspiration for your style when you play.Javier Zanetti is mine. Absolutely brilliant right back, everything about the way he plays is perfect, and he's been in the Inter set up for so long, a real testament to his quality. Anyone? Zanetti?! If you wanted to base yourself on a successful right back surely Habib Beye is the player you want to base your career on? Out of football Joey Barton and on the pitch Gerrard or Oakley. Mascherano is a contender. Gerrard for meEdit: Even tho i'm a left winger/foward. So why base yourself on him? Jesus christ.
Brainy Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Zanetti?! If you wanted to base yourself on a successful right back surely Habib Beye is the player you want to base your career on?So why base yourself on him? Jesus christ. You're the next DB11 with your wind-ups.
Raj Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 So why base yourself on him? Jesus christ. Jesus played Football? Fcuk...we could do with some one like him at the moment!! I used to pretend to be an uglier Peter Beardsley!
Tevez Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 You're the next DB11 with your wind-ups. Bit of banter from Alby. The forum neeeds someone like him.
Bert Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Michael Owen i guess. Can finish, quick, get injured a lot.

SamL Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Joe Cole - I'm predominantly a right footer who plays on the left wing.
Ashley Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Zanetti?! Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 29 October 2008 Author Posted 29 October 2008 Zanetti?! If you wanted to base yourself on a successful right back surely Habib Beye is the player you want to base your career on? . How could I forget?
The Blur Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 Dribbling and Shooting- Malouda, unpredictable on my day I'm unbeatable Effort in general- Gerrard I like to chase after the ball and I have a bit of stubborn streak refusing to give up easily Defending-Frank Sinclair - have a tedency of scoring own goals yet a ugly scrapper
Thracian Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 Such thoughts have long disappeared but as a kid it was Davie Gibson and Denis Law. I tried to run like Gibbo and to kick the ball high in the air and catch it on my boot as he did. Like Law I'd hold the cuffs of my shirt when I ran and give the same one-armed goal salute.
Simi Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 Nobody really, I just learned from watching. I was never the fittest player but my I've got a decent footballing brain and no how to read play. Always loved a crunching tackle on a silky winger as well.
