Jordan Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 He was a Mandy signing wasnt he? I remember reading that Steve Walsh--the new assistant manager/chief scout--was keeping tabs on CSKA Sofia's precarious situation while he was at Chelsea in case they had a fire sale of their star players in order to raise cash. Tunchev was the player he was following most closely and on his first day at the club, Walsh recommended that LCFC try to buy him. I can't find a link to this story and I don't remember where it was from...
A fox for life Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 On the way home from yesterday's game I was thinking to myself about the foreign players we've had at the club who have made the impact Tunchev has.Only one springs to mind - Kaamark. Tunchev is a lot like Kaamark for me. He is Mr Dependable, he never does anything rash, he has a cool head, he is calm and assured. Kaamark was a real favourite down here and rightly so. Tunchev will achieve similar status for me. He's real class. Mancini Muzzy izzet Theo Zagorakis Neil Lennon all foreign
carterfox90 Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 he is just pure class best signing for years zagorakis was class also but tunchev is very much like kaamark......class
mmarkie Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 It is ridiculous saying Tunchev is streets ahead of everyone else. As a winger like Dyer or Gradel. a striker like Fryatt or Howard, or a central midfielder like King or Davies he'd look very ordinary. I'd agree he is our best centre-half right now. But beyond that I'll reserve judgement until I see him up against a few more like Kevin Phillips. YOUR NEVER HAPPY!
The People's Hero Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 Far too good for us, bit of a joke he's playing at this level.
J.Lisemore Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 no other defender is anywhere near as good as him, were very lucky to have him.
Ric Flair Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 Probably playing 8 leagues below where he should be playing.
DB11 Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 Is it me just me? When I read this, I find myself slipping into a strange Bulgarian accent! Yes it's just you
GLC Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 i love him so mcuh i may even betray max gradel and become tunchev's love child he is a better lover, more gentle haha
Simi Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 You forgot to say that he also might look pretty ordinary playing in goal  Quite an extroadinary post from Thrac.
Fosse Boy Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 i love him so mcuh i may even betray max gradel and become tunchev's love child he is a better lover, more gentle haha He's rough with me...
GLC Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 He's rough with me... im sorry to tell you this................he loves me more!!
Cobbo Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 I am in love with Alex Tunchev and if he ever leaves I shall sob for months. He is a bloody rock. That can also play a bit. After years of McCarthy, McAuley and Heath I am in dream world.
Fosse Boy Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 im sorry to tell you this................he loves me more!! Actually, I don't really mind it all that much. It's edgy, rough and quite exciting once you get used to it and your pain threshold rises.
Fosse Boy Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 He clearly got conned, but i love him. He must have read the literal translation of 'League One' into Bulgarian before he signed!
Maybes Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 He clearly got conned, but i love him. Agreed. Tunch is King.
C-man Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 He's our best player. I feel privileged just going to watch him every week!
davieG Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 From NP off the OS Alex Tunchev left the field of play on a stretched midway through the first half with a knee injury. Pearson added: "He's on crutches at the moment. It's too early to say what the full extent of the injury is at the moment but we should know more later in the week."
Jimmy Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 Palace fan on another forum was saying from the way he fell it looked like a hamstring injury
act smiley Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 Nah, it was definitely the knee - lots of attention around the back of the leg just above it and the front both above and below the knee cap. I'm no doctor, though, so I dunno what that looks like though.
Sods Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 I thought he was fooked! Hopefully hes back playing in no time.
Lovejoy Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 Slight change of subject but did anyone else get royally p155ed off with Gradel for his antics near the end. Wasn't even close to being touched, yet still got the physio on only to jog off straight away to a deserved booking .
act smiley Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 I didn't see that it to be honest, I thought he was grabbing at his nads from an awkwardly-placed 50/50 or something.
