casablancas Posted 4 February 2010 Posted 4 February 2010 Just look at Ledley King, when fit one of the best defenders around even if its for 2 games a month . Tuch will be back, I am sure.
Fox You Forest Posted 4 February 2010 Posted 4 February 2010 It's impossible to make any kind of judgement with the complete lack of information given by the club.

Ozwin Posted 4 February 2010 Posted 4 February 2010 I'd rather wait until next season if it means he'll be fully fit again. No point rushing him back just because he's our best player. Gotta give him time.
Vlad The Impaler Posted 4 February 2010 Posted 4 February 2010 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ity/8498809.stm This upsets me!
Jimmy Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 I don't care if he misses the rest of the season, just take the time to heal properly and he can come back stronger, Shearer managed it
Guest DavidJCW Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 Another knee injury? Meaning that it's a different one from the one that kept him out before? Either way, this news isn't good and surely his future in the game is under threat if this keeps up...
Uncle Monty Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 When the Dickens is Clemence going to be back?
Legend_in_blue Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 When the Dickens is Clemence going to be back? When he announces his retirement.
Uncle Monty Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 When he announces his retirement. What is it the young people say these days??? Zing!
davieG Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 Latest from the Merc: Defender Aleksandar Tunchev may need further knee surgery, Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson has revealed. The Bulgarian international has returned from Spain where he underwent the last of a series of injections to his knee in a bid to avoid another operation. If the treatment – carried out by the specialist who treated him originally – works, Tunchev has a chance of playiing again this season. But if it is unsuccessful, the 28-year-old will have to face another operation and Pearson said they did not want to wait too long and risk Tunchev's rehabilitation stretching into next season. Tunchev ruptured his cruciate ligament at Crystal Palace in the third round of the FA Cup last January and made a brief return earlier this season. But a further problem arose within the joint, which forced him to undergo another operation and has thwarted his efforts to make a first-team return. Now Pearson is hoping the injection treatment will do the trick, but he accepts Tunchev's season could be over. "He has had a course of injections and he has had his last one in Barcelona, so we will have to just wait and see how it goes," he said. "It is a technique that is designed to avoid surgery. He has been better than we thought but we still don't know whether it will have the effect that we want. "If you can avoid surgery you try to do that. Ultimately, we don't want to wait so long so that, if he needs surgery, it goes into the start of next season. "The surgery that he may need, the recovery time is not quick. "It is microfractures and it takes a while for that to heal because they actually drill into the bone, to make it bleed." This allows for tissue to grow out through the holes and cover the bone, which in turn helps to heal and strengthen the joint. Pearson added: "I have had it done twice myself so I know it can be a lengthy recovery process. It depends because every operation is different, but he may not need it. "I am not going to put a time-frame on it. He is making reasonable progress, but whether he will be back or not this season is another thing." The doubts over Tunchev were the main reason why Pearson swooped to sign defender Alex Bruce on loan from Ipswich Town for the rest of the season, and he is delighted to have the 25-year-old on board, although he admits he would have liked to have recruited more players during the transfer window. "He has quite a bit of experience and it is an opportunity for him," said Pearson. "He gives us another player to provide competition. "I think he has a point to prove and that can only help us, having people who are enthusiastic and driven to do well. "He comes in at a time when we need fresh faces. It would have been nice to bring a few more in but, because of the financial situation, we haven't been able to do more business."
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 a little tiny part of me is immensely worried we won't see him ever again

I had this microfracturoperation in august last year and its a long recovery after the surgery. Depending on the size of the wounded area its 4 - 12 months before its heeled. Now 7 months after the surgery i can start run next week. So this may take a long time

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 9 February 2010 Posted 9 February 2010 Tunchev! Too injury prone. Get rid of him.
Thracian Posted 9 February 2010 Posted 9 February 2010 It's early days but I'd have serious doubts about Tunchev recovering sufficiently to be reliable within the vigorous cut and thrust of Championship football. Even at his cultured best I had my doubts about his marking qualities - a concern first raised when Kevin Phillips found him out in a pre-season friendly. I'd hope to be wrong of course but with even my forecast of a Christmas return proving over-optimistic I find it hard to believe the psychological afermath of his injuries will easily disappear even if the physical problems can be overcome. Shame, really. The bloke was my sort of player - a cultured defender who read the play and pass the ball simply and accurately when he won it. But you also have to be robust to defend in English football. I've serious concerns about that.

Tunchev will be back, and he'll be alright.
Hitesh Posted 9 February 2010 Posted 9 February 2010 Steve Walsh had a very similar injury - he came back OK, that was a decade or around that ago. Tunchev will be back, and he'll be alright. And he came back for the Play Off Final against Derby after that injury and we all know what happened then...
ozleicester Posted 10 February 2010 Posted 10 February 2010 The info from the clucb has been pretty disapointing re Tunch. Just some regular updates would be nice.
DanTheFox07 Posted 10 February 2010 Posted 10 February 2010 Tunchev! Too injury prone. Get rid of him. get rid of him, good joke there! clemence is injury prone but we havent got rid of him! well not yet anyway, Getting rid of him is not in the best intrests of leicester city.
Corky Posted 10 February 2010 Posted 10 February 2010 It would be a real shame if he wasn't the same player as before, which is likely. Big fan of Tunch and his defending.

Good point, he is another player who should go for the same reason. At least Tunchev showed some ability. We cannot afford to support players who are seemingly forerver injured. It does not make sense, no matter how good they may be.
