samlcfc Posted 6 November 2009 Posted 6 November 2009 Bad news his knee has swollen up again. No one knows the reason why! Will not know until Monday what this means. Tunchev is very upset and thinks it could be a big step back. This is very bad news for him. I think that he could be definately be as good in the championship as he was at the start of league 1 if he could get back to full fitness and work his way into the team.
Hitesh Posted 6 November 2009 Posted 6 November 2009 Cheers for the update KIA - feel really bad for Tunch! Hope he can get over this setback soon!
samlcfc Posted 6 November 2009 Posted 6 November 2009 Tunchev is the new Wesolowski. haha, thatll cheer him up

Captain... Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 it always seems that only our really good players always seem to get long term injuries clemence apartit always seems that only our really good players always seem to get long term injuries clemence apart So nice you said it twice, I'm interested to see if and how Clem fits into Pearson's plans. I've only seen him play during the bad years, playing in a confident team with a winning mentality might bring out the better player in him, he was one of our better players during the doldrums, but that's not saying much. He has a fight on his hands to win a place in our midfield but if he gets a chance he could show that he is the good player he once had the potential to be. He shouldn't be judged on his previous performances for us. As for Tunchev I'm gutted he is going to be out if action for longer, having Hobbs, Brown and Tunchev fit would give Pearson the kind of teamsheet headache that he wants. I would probably give Tunchev the nod ahead of Hobbs, but I would have no qualms about playing any 2 of the 3.
Candidcamera Posted 7 November 2009 Posted 7 November 2009 This is indeed a blow for City. I wish him all the best in his recovery though and I am rooting for it being as speedy as possible.
davieG Posted 4 December 2009 Posted 4 December 2009 From the Merc Meanwhile, Pearson has said defender Aleksandar Tunchev is still some way off a first-team return. The Bulgarian defender is still on crutches after an operation to clean out a knee joint. He had returned from cruciate ligament damage inflicted at Crystal Palace nearly a year ago, but then suffered a setback this season. Stephen Clemence has returned to training with the squad this week, but again Pearson said he was not ready for a first-team recall. "Aleksandar is still a long way off, unfortunately, at the moment," said Pearson. "Fingers crossed, he will be back before too long. It is frustrating to have players of his calibre out, but we have dealt with that so far "Stephen has been training intermittently for the past few weeks, but he is a long-term injury and it has been frustrating for him. There is no indication when he will be available."
h1210 Posted 4 December 2009 Posted 4 December 2009 Have more faith! He'll be back and he'll be better than ever!
Leicesterboi Posted 4 December 2009 Posted 4 December 2009 Who will retire first...Clemence or Ashton??
martyn Posted 4 December 2009 Posted 4 December 2009 People seem to continuously fail to recognise that this is Tunchev's first major injury in his career. There is a difference between being a "sicknote" and having "setbacks" on a road to recovery. The fact his initial rehabilitation was deemed succesful enough to make a first team comeback is positive, he already has redeveloped the muscle srength around the knee. Of course it may be some time before he's back but to claim the situation is akin to that of a young player who has had 3 broken legs and numerous hamstring problems is rather bizarre.
Guest Posted 4 December 2009 Posted 4 December 2009 He'll be back just in time to help us breeze through the prem and onto european glory
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 4 December 2009 Posted 4 December 2009 Unfortunately I think Tunch is buggered and Clemence even more so. Hope I am proved wrong.
The Doctor Posted 4 December 2009 Posted 4 December 2009 Who will retire first...Clemence or Ashton?? What are the odds? I'd put a tenner on clemence if i were you.
Ultra Posted 4 December 2009 Posted 4 December 2009 Look how many times Walshy came back from injuries like this.... Hope Tunch is made of similar stuff.
Father Ted Posted 4 December 2009 Posted 4 December 2009 Tunch will be back but Clemence won't be and if he is it better not be at Leicester!
sdb Posted 4 December 2009 Posted 4 December 2009 Doesn't Tunch's contract run out in June? If so this will stop potential suitors (silver lining...??!).
Daggers Posted 4 December 2009 Posted 4 December 2009 People seem to continuously fail to... Yep, whatever... Ladies and gentlemen, I give you: The new Chevrolet Tunchev
Leicester Rule! Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 Any news on when he is going to be back?
