I really enjoyed that, excellent game of football.

I thought United were virtually home and dry when three goals up, but Olic's goal from pretty much nowhere made half-time a totally different scenario. Then the red card came and I don't think many people were going to bet against Bayern from getting another.

The goal from Robben was worthy of winning any game, absolute beauty. I can't stand the bloke but there's no denying he really is a quality footballer.

I'm not too fussed about United going out, but I always like to have an English team left in the latter stages to keep the interest up a bit more.

Bit disappointed to see no English sides in the last four, although it is good to see that it's 4 teams from 4 different countries. Knew some of you on here would have a field day lol

Bayern deserved it - got the goal when they needed to before half time then rounded it off with an absolute stunner. Rooney should have been taken off in the first half when it was clear he couldn't fooking run. Ribery is a bit of something special and Fabio (?) deserved to be sent off purely for his first yellow card - how retarded can you be to get booked for something stupid when marking one of the best wingers around?

Just a sneaking suspicion that Bayern might actually go on to win this with all the luck they have had (as well as some good performances)

Bayern did everything right, they took advantage when Utd made mistakes. Utd must be kicking themselves, messed up the 1st leg and then to mess the the 2nd leg up too, and avoiding inter or barca in the semi's.

Dear oh dear.

Fergie must be kicking himself. By not showing any confidence in Berbatov over the season, his form has dipped, which has meant he has had to depend on Rooney more and more. It must have been in his mind that this could happen, his top man would miss a key game or two, be it through injury or suspension.

Yet still, he casted Berbatov aside (much the same as he was doing with Owen) and so when he really needed him or anyone to play up front, he didn't fancy it and ended up playing Nani up front on his own.

This was a mistake, as Bayern passed and passed United to death, and when United did manage to get the ball, it was hoofed and generally came straight back. On the odd break made by Nani, his speed took him past any other United player which meant he had to do it all himself, didn't, and ended up feigning a heart attack.

True, playing with 10 against Bayern would not be easy, but Fergie simply didn't have the options he required at his disposal, mainly down to his previous man management. True, who am i to critacise considering Fergie's glittering CV, but I have to say he got tonight (and the team for the Chelsea game) wrong. Not as shrewd in the transfer market, not as skillful on the chalk board, I sense he's losing his powers (although i fear if I post this, United will then go and romp to the title).

I think somebody will have to put up a huge performance to get past Barca personally. Bayern went through tonight because of that red card - eleven on eleven and it would almost definitely have been United in the semis in my opinion.

Gutted for United but oh well.

Don't really care who wins it now, just want to see some quality football. My moneys will be on Barce.

the first one was a bit harsh when you consider van bommel had just taken him out and got away with it when that wasjust as bad a offence as the one Rafael was booked for.

What? Regardless of what anyone does to you you don't retaliate. He took a stupid swipe at the bloke whilst sat on his arse on the floor with no chance of winning the ball. It was only the fact he put so little into the kick that meant it was ONLY a yellow and not a red.

You are critising United like they lost the match in 90 minutes and the tactics were all wrong, they won the game 3-2. It took a worldie of a goal from Arjen Robben to knock them out on the away goals rule and Untied were down to 10 men!

Fergie hardly got his tactics wrong, you say Bayern passed United to death, did they really though? First half Bayern were doggo and second half they played against 10 men for 40 odd minutes and they only found the net through a peice of magic, I couldnt see any Bayern player scoring in the second half until Robben scored. What a beaut though that was, he is some bloody player.

Silly, silly red card by Rafael, lucky to have been on the pitch after his first yellow card, personally thought he should have gone for that.

Im glad all the English teams are out, hope Liverpool go out tonight. Fulham can win by me, smaller clubs all the way.

I'd love Fulham to win the Europa Leage/ Cup - you just can't dislike Roy Hodgson or Fulham.

While I don't necessarily disagree with you, for once, I think you're overlooking what's still a fairly justified point from the chap you're quoting re: the treatment of Berbatov and over-reliance on Rooney and it's definitely been noticed in the past few games.

I know Bayern Munich players did cheat yesterday, but take nothing away from Robben's goal. How good was that? Awesome.

Can't believe Chelsea did actually sell him, he's got to be one of the best wingers in the world.

How did they cheat?

If the first challenge isn't given as a foul, then it's just tough shit to be quite frank; "play to the whistle", anyone? Had Rafael lashed out harder whilst on the ground or caught the man in the stomach, chances are he'd have been shown a straight red. The guy wants to count his blessings that it was only a yellow to be honest. Pretty sure that if a foreigner had done that to an Englishman, it'd have received a large overreaction by some (not suggesting you seeing as I know your stance on the English players :P ).

As for Fergie saying the surrounding of the referee swayed his decision or whatever nonsense he came out with - definitely doesn't happen in the English game. Neither his team or Chelsea EVER surround referees at any time trying to influence them. EVER.

having watched it again it's clear he was being a petty little child lashing out and it's understandable why he acted like a petty little child but i just think the ref covered himself in a bit of excrement for not giving the foul by van bommel.

I didnt question him on the over-reliance of Rooney or about Ferguson not having faith in Berbatov, if I did then sorry I didnt intend on doing so.

All I was saying was that Ferguson hardly got his tactics wrong seeing as they were 3-0 up at one point and Bayerns first came through a Carrick mistake and the second was a worldie from Robben, if United had 11 men then I think they would of won.

Yeah, if you take Rooney out of Yanited then they're really just an average side....

Correct James, last Saturday proved this.

They're Johnny Foreigner. No more needs to be said. English teams never cheat. No siree.

Typical German.

TYPICAL GERMANS

Amen, Samuel.
