DJ Campbell has given Seasiders fans hope by claiming Saturday's clash with Nottingham Forest might not be his final game at Bloomfield Road. Campbell has always been cagey when asked about his future.

But today the striker has, for the first time, given Blackpool the go ahead to try to sign him, saying he is prepared to enter into talks about a deal.

Campbell has smashed eight goals in 18 games since joining on loan from Leicester in January.

He is under contract at the Walkers Stadium for a further year but, despite the Foxes' elevation to the Championship, insists he has no desire to return.

That means he is set to depart in the summer – the only question is where he will end up.

And the good news for Tony Parkes and those on the terraces is that it could be with the Seasiders.

"Nothing has been talked about yet regards the future," said the 27-year-old.

"I want to get these final two games out of the way, get the season finished and then sit down and see what happens.

"So it may or may not be my last game at Bloomfield Road on Saturday.

"If it is obviously I would love to go out with a bang and it would be nice to get a goal.

"It has been good at Blackpool and I have enjoyed my time here.

"The lads have been superb, the management have been great and the fans have been terrific as well.

"It is a lovely little club and obviously if we sit down in the summer ... well, we'll see what happens.

"I don't want to go back to Leicester though – anything apart from that."

Always liked him, and I've always thought if he'd not been injured and got a proper run in the side, he'd score a goal every 2 games.

If he doesn't want to be here, then we're better off without him.

Hes probably already been told we dont want him back

If he doesnt wanna be here thats fine with me.... it never worked, his heart never looked in it.

im sure no one is gonna lose any sleep over it.

It's okay DJ, most Leicester fans would rather see anything than you back here too

Well, anything apart from him and David Martin, skipping back to us in some sort of homosexual nightmare bubble.

well...he has a year left on his contract so he is still our player and scoring those goals for blackpool will help us recoup a little of the money MA wasted on him...sounds like a reet nob though, maybe we should make him honour his contract....ball boy next season anyone??

Good ridance to bad rubbish.

Eight goals in 18 Championship games! Yes the bloke's rubbish. He was never given a proper chance here and that is reflected in his comments. He was never the blue-eyed boy. A parting was/is inevitable.

can't see why we should gift him to blackpool he has a decent scoring record with them and they have £2.5 mill coming their way so why not ask a fee- agree we don't want him back though a constant reminder of allen's incompetent and wasteful tenure at the club

Your like a dog with a bone on your David Martin point ain't ya? :D

also...I'd just like to add, as a professional its about how you take the knock backs...if he wasnt given a proper run in the side then thats because nige felt that we had better options....he should have tried to prove himself and force his way back into the side rather than act like a child and take a swipe at the club....that just makes him look like a lazy ****....come on...the most expensive ball boy in history next season??...whos with me???...milan?

Never liked him since he's been here, I'll be glad to get rid.

OK, he's suffered from injuries and patchy runs in the side, but he's never taken the chances he got given in the first place and he isn't going to be good enough in the Championship for us. Hopefully he keeps scoring for Blackpool before the end of the season so we can squeeze a bit more cash out of them.

Adios DJ.
