Alexikokopops Posted 28 April 2009 Posted 28 April 2009 Is there another way of sharing a birthday? I think he meant to the year, haha.

I would let the whole lot go add to this Campbell, Adams, Psssh, Dickov - getting fees where you can. Dont think any of them can hack it at the Championship level so clear the wage bill and look for players that will build the squad.
shiv Posted 28 April 2009 Posted 28 April 2009 According to the Mirror, Kisnorbo has been allowed to leave on a free transfer as he is not needed by the club.Personally i think this is a good move, he couldn't cut it in the championship last time round, and with stiff competition in Hobbs and Tunchev i couldnt see him playing. Leeds and Crystal Palace are in the hunt for Kisnorbo. it is a good move, but he was one of our best players in the championship when we played him in defence that is

I take it you're not interested in having a reserve team then?
Fox92 Posted 28 April 2009 Posted 28 April 2009 I sought of agree but would get rid of Kisnorbo and keep Ryan Beswick, give him a year to prove himself. But what about Levi Psssh, he would be the first on my list to go and im sure NP would agree. Not sure what John Hayes is doing but he would go too and maybe im missing a couple. This is a great chance for NP to get rid of about 10+ players and start a fresh with the main lads we have now plus some additions. Yes there is loads more I would get rid of aswell, but I thought we were only doing out of contracts I'm with you anyway, Por ter, Hayes etc

D.J. won't play for us again and Psssh is the forgotten man - neither will be here come the start of next season. Adams just couldn't quite cut, but he seems to have the right qualities Pearson looks for in a player so I wouldn't be surprised if he was still knocking about next season. Dickov will still be here next season, even though he is likely to play even less of a role than he has in this one. Out of the list of players in the first post, I'd love Chrissy P to be given a player/coach role here - he was more than competent this season and in an injury crisis he could prove invaluable next year. Would also provide great tutelage for Mattock who still has a lot to learn. I just don't know enough about the youngsters to comment, but I will say that Pearson seems keener than previous managers to use youth (albeit not necessarily from our own academy) so If they are good enough, they will be offered contracts. I never really understood the signing of Verma.

He'll be a good signing for someone in the Championship, particularly for nothing.
MarkDeVries Posted 28 April 2009 Posted 28 April 2009 The way Chris Powell walked off when he got subbed made me think he will not play next season but the applause he got (and gave) gives the impression that he will be coaching. Altho' he did play 250 odd games for Charlton. . Wow! how the hell did you notice that? Psychic
maddog Posted 28 April 2009 Posted 28 April 2009 Bit harsh, we had a very decent defensive record despite going down. He'll be a good signing for someone in the Championship, particularly for nothing. I rekon he will be in League One next season or not playing in England.
Salieri Posted 28 April 2009 Posted 28 April 2009 I rekon he will be in League One next season or not playing in England. Not playing in England is a definite possibility but if he opts to stay i'd be surprised if a Championship team didn't take a chance on him on a free.

Well, the fact that we had the second best defence in the division last season, suggests otherwise! Think he will be an excellent free signing transfer for someone, personally. Happy with the centre backs we have though, tunchev is class, hobbs got better as the season went on, morrison improving and brown good in the air with loads of experience, i do worry about browns lack of pace though.

How can you say Campbell cant hack it when you compare his scoring record with Blackpool in the championship with Howards record last year or Fryatt come to that

He had a terrible scoring record with us too
J.Lisemore Posted 29 April 2009 Posted 29 April 2009 I rekon he will be in League One next season or not playing in England. If he was to go to League One, I think he would only be interested in Leeds. Hes a decent Championship defender, wouldn't be suprised to see him down the Walkers next season.
PAULCFC Posted 29 April 2009 Posted 29 April 2009 I'd offer Chris Powell a coaching role, but still keep his registration up(if he wanted it).Still think he can do a job for us even at this level.
Dr The Singh Posted 29 April 2009 Posted 29 April 2009 Nigel gets his complimentary Chicken Madras down the Belgrave/Melton Roads !!CHAMPIONS!!! He's from Evington and he's not Gujarati, so no curry giveth!!!
Thracian Posted 29 April 2009 Posted 29 April 2009 So you didnt think kisnorbo cut it in the championship last season!Well, the fact that we had the second best defence in the division last season, suggests otherwise! And one of the worst attacks. Unfortunately attack and defence are not separate entities they are connected. I realise that successive managers didn't seem to appreciate the fact either but it's a good job for City's survival that Pearson and company have a different outlook. One goal conceded but one or no goals scored is a recipe for disaster and an outcome that was entirely predictable the way we used to line up. Yes we were mean at the back but that was hardly surprising when people like Kelly used to pick eight defensive-minded players per game.
dandannieldanok Posted 29 April 2009 Posted 29 April 2009 Keep Barry for another season. Will never forget his sub appearance vs Barnsely a few years ago at Oakwell. Fantastic. "BARRY, BARRY, BARRY!" Haha Barry was superb in that game.

Yes we were mean at the back but that was hardly surprising when people like Kelly used to pick eight defensive-minded players per game. exactly. kisnorbo is one of the biggest anti-footballers around. he has fine defensive credentials but every time he plays, he takes our own midfield out of the game completely. they say the key to a good defence is a good attack, and if you watch the matches closely, it's obvious the opposite is true as well...
markbsac Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 SAVE US! SAPPLETON MUST STAY....IF HE GOES HE WILL HAUNT US IN THE FUTURE YOU MARK MY WORDS
Ultra Posted 1 May 2009 Posted 1 May 2009 SAPPLETON MUST STAY....IF HE GOES HE WILL HAUNT US IN THE FUTURE YOU MARK MY WORDS I doubt it. We won't be playing AFC Telford that often..
