Not an apple fanboy but got used to having them for years.

Looking to upgrade from the 8 to the new SE, bloke on the phone recommended Huawei Nova 5T  and it would be £200 cheaper.

It would be a huge change for me, leaving the apple family, and I'm not someone who is cool with phones.

Any thoughts gratefully received. Ta.

Dude on the phone was a chinese special agent wanting to nick your data.

Just kidding, obviously. If you can use a iphone you can use an android, and vice versa, pretty much all cut from the same cloth. Add to that Huawei genuinely makes decent phones for good prices it's not an altogether bad idea to get one. But personally, I wouldn't be touching anything to do with huawei until all this political nonsense surrounding them settles down. Not seen any update on them for a while but last I heard they were still having trouble using google apps? Dunno, all seems a bit dodgy.

I went from iPhone Xs to the new SE and didn’t regret it. Does everything you need immaculately well, it will be properly supported for years, it has probably the best chip in a phone so it’s future proofed. Don’t know why people bother with these dodgy weird android phones when you have gear like this available for a reasonable price.

I always found apple products overpriced; everything from headphones up. I moved from apple to android when android had much more freedom with everything and never wanted to go back. And you can pick up phones with equal or better usage specs than apple products for cheaper.

Same here. Android is much more customisable.

I always see this argument but I just dunno what people are actually customising? I had a Samsung a few years back and didn’t customise anything from what I can remember. 99% of mobile phones do what you need straight out of the box I’d of thought

£200 is a chunk of change but is any pain dealing with a new ecosystem worth it? If you aren't a phone person stay with what you are used to otherwise you might regret it. I'd say if you could somehow get a loaner that would make your decision easier.

I dislike iOS, prefer android but you need sound advice so i have spoken!

I've got an Android/Samsung phone I can't justify an Iphone as I don't use it a lot although I do have an Ipad

Anyway to the point of the post.

I've just started to get a pop up full screen advert when I unlock my phone, I've not added any new apps in fact I've removed a few.

Any advise on how I can get shot of it.

Thanks

Is there potential to look through the settings of google play store, maybe somethings changed there to suddenly allow the pop ups.

Alternatively, something like This could help you out.

If all else fails try restarting or a soft restart (holding volume and lock buttons for 10seconds).

Will give those a go although I'm not sure what I'd be looking for in the play store.

On my Samsung (Galaxy S7) you can go to settings - notifications and you can turn off allowing apps such as google play from sending notifications.

The only option I have in notifications are for Updates to notify me when updates are available.

I've found an app I updated 3 days ago which I now think is when this started so I've blocked it and removed all data so will see if that works

Ah okay, mine has a few more options than that.

Fingers crossed that works, devs are annoying with adding things like that into updates which you don't realise
