AjcW Posted 18 June 2009 Posted 18 June 2009 Joe hart, although hes not had much to do, hes impressed me in another way, at the start of last season he was in my opinion overweight for a footballer, he seems to of sorted himself right out, not sure if thats a mark hughes thing or whether hes taken it upon himself. Fair play to him though.
BlueSi13 Posted 18 June 2009 Posted 18 June 2009 2-0 FT stunning result tonight, never thought id say this but we played Spain of the park!! Surely we can really push on and become favourites for the trophy after a performance like that one
David Guiza Posted 18 June 2009 Posted 18 June 2009 2-0 FT stunning result tonight, never thought id say this but we played Spain of the park!! Surely we can really push on and become favourites for the trophy after a performance like that one Seconded . Walcott and Campbell made a massive difference when they came on. Agbonlahor's injury was a blessing in disquise i thought as after Campbell's introduction we looked much more potent going forward.
Brainy Posted 18 June 2009 Posted 18 June 2009 Joe hart, he was in my opinion overweight for a footballer, really?
AjcW Posted 18 June 2009 Posted 18 June 2009 I did not know Joe Hart was overweight?Lies. 15 stone at the start of last season, there was a lot of talk about it, not alot of it was muscle mass but hes converted it now and i think he looks an all round better player for it.... Now down to 12 stone btw....
Mickyblueeyes Posted 18 June 2009 Posted 18 June 2009 Hows good are the Spain U21 team? I know Bojan is a bit special but are they as or as potentially as good as there seniors?
Ultra Posted 18 June 2009 Posted 18 June 2009 A lot of Spain's youngsters (like Cesc Fabregas) have already been promoted to the senior squad. Even so, it was an excellent result and performance by England. Let's hope we can continue like this for the rest of the tournament.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 19 June 2009 Posted 19 June 2009 A lot of Spain's youngsters (like Cesc Fabregas) have already been promoted to the senior squad. Their squad wouldn't be that much stronger if they took those eligible (for this tournament) Under-21s from the seniors and put them back in the U-21s, Fabregas aside.
General Smuts Posted 19 June 2009 Author Posted 19 June 2009 I knew Milner would miss that peno. My mate called it too. Great result. Think Stearman might get a chance against Germany now.
Big Ol' Bob Posted 19 June 2009 Posted 19 June 2009 I thought Captain Noble looked impressive again. Campbell was great too.
General Smuts Posted 22 June 2009 Author Posted 22 June 2009 Ze Germans tonight. Mancienne may start with Richards out with any luck.
Matt Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Ricardo Stearman starts for England tonight. Mancienne the only player to have started a game so far in the team. Loach Stearman - Mancienne - Tomkins - TaylorGardener - Rodwell - RoseDriver - Campbell - Johnson
davieG Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Stearman's shit he wouldn't make a decent defender in League 1!
Matt Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Stearman's shit he wouldn't make a decent defender in League 1! He's a decent defender, has loads of potential, the question is will he be bothered and will he use his potential tonight.
Head Honcho Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 England 2-2 Spain 3-1 £2 correct score double at 149/1
Matt Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Although we're 1-0 down....Sorry drawing 1-1, i'd say this is the best we've played throughout the tournament so far and this is our '2nd string' England U21's team, better than the 1st String England U21's team from what i've seen.
Ultra Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Good result for the 'B' team. We've stayed unbeaten, and on top of the group.
Matt Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Good result for the 'B' team. We've stayed unbeaten, and on top of the group. Best performance i'd say.
C-man Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Very impressive first half from England and from Rodwell and Driver in particular, but took our foot of the gas in the second. Walcott is never a central striker on his own - he never got in the game. Not impressed by Mancienne or Gardner though.
Samilktray Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 How come on the BBC it says Loach was in goal, I thought it was Lewis?
Unabomber Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 How come on the BBC it says Loach was in goal, I thought it was Lewis? Lewis replaced him at half time
