Dunno if i'm the first to say this, but SORRY DAGGERS.

RIP.

Oh No!:rolleyes: That'll make me unpopular with Daggers for using the internet to pay respects and say RIP to someone.

No, you carry on Matt. You knock yourself out.

Feel better, feel a bigger person now you've posted three letters on a marginal Internet forum?

What next? A pilgrimage to the scene of his death? Stopping your own heart for a minute out of respect? Public display of tears to let the world know that he touched you too?

You carry on and prove my point for me. You and the cretin threatening to fight people in the post above.

People worry about swine flu but the stupidity pandemic seems far greater.

Jackson denied his colour, produced 'pop' music and interfered with children - I wonder if Gary Glitter will receive the ultimate accolade of dullards posting RIP on Internet forums too?

Of course Gary Glitter won't get any plaudits.

Sorry if I went stupid again for a minute, but this guy said, " I hope he died a painful death " or something similar. Sorry if it touched a nerve with me again like last time I went stupid when someone said " about time " when someone else died. I reacted in the heat of the moment as i was reading the thread. I have seen two people die painful deaths in front of my face, one close friend and a stranger, so I told the guy what I think.

You're right, I'm immature, but I read a thread and respond soon as I read something cos it late and I drinkin whisky all night.

I think I'm not as out of order as the folk I respond to in these situations

When Farrah Fawcett arrived at heavens pearly gates god granted her one wish. She wished for all children in the world to be safe. So god killed Michael Jackson.

Too Soon

Exactly. At least he actually did something. :/

He did a few things. And not all completely legal.

This is the biggest news story of the year, with out a doubt and it probably is since the turn of the century if I'm honest.

Surely an act of sudden exaggeration? It's the biggest news story of the year because the media want you to believe it is. **** me, superlatives are already selling out at an alarming rate when it comes to describe the "King Of Pop". This automatically warrants another entry in the "What grinds my gears" thread.

...

I would rant about this, but to be honest I got so pissed off with facebook statusii, that I made my own sarcastic status, and then made my thoughts clear to those who couldn't understand that 'MICHAEL JACKSON IS DYING OF AIDS' is a sarcastic way of saying I will not jump on this ridiculous 'RIP MICHAEL, I LOVE YOU' bandwagon. As a result I really can't be bothered to talk about this any more.

...

You have my sympathies. It's online mass hypocrisy on a new all-time high.

Same as above. The greatest, no-one (above 25) can say they haven't loved Michaels songs. A true artist. Respect to Michael

His last few albums (whenever he could actually be arsed and produce some music) were w*nk. And he gained more publicity in the past 15 odd years with his crazy, helpless antics than with his only real assets, his voice and his dance moves. Whether he was talented or not, is debatable. And to call Michael Jackson an artist - err... he was an irritated, childish and lonely craftsman above all. Worked like a maniac on his voice, songs and trademarks like the Moonwalk. And suddenly, within a matter of years, hits the biggest personal crisis one can imagine. And he does practically sod all in the 2nd half of his life.

The man has my sympathies for what he had to go through in his childhood and my respect for what he has achieved in his younger years (up to 25, maybe 30). From there it all went downhill.

The reports about Michael Jackson having a cardiac arres are incorrect. He actually went to visit the Childrens hospital and had a stroke....

Too soon maybe but ya gonna hear them at some stage.

I saw him at Roundhay Park in Leeds and it was undoubtedly one of the best shows I've seen.

Although we shouldn't forget Quincey Jones' contribution to the three albums that sold over 150 million, he was pretty amazing to watch and that's what we'll be talking about in years to come hopefully.

With me the jury is still out regarding his out of office activities but for now let's just let him rest in peace.

The Internet Police didn't take long to get stuck into this one did they? The irony is that they seem to take these messages of condolences more seriously than the people who actually write them! That amuses me.

Perish the thought that some people might actually be saddened by the fact someone has died. And also perish the thought that people can actually think about things independently without the aid of the media.

RIP Michael Jackson. You made some fucking great music.

I do concur. At the end of the day he was just a bloke who was bloody good in his field and entertained a lot of people across the world, including myself. But people have a weird sense of placing priority on the lives of others. All those extreme fans of his who will be crying their eyes out for him are a bunch of tits. Jackson had no bearing on their existence and had no bearing on their life whatsoever, and they should re-consider their priorities - and I never knew he died until I logged on Facebook a few minutes ago to see 25 status updates about him.

Running 24 hour news for him is just absurd

Look, I'm only 15, and this mornings news certainly gave me a shock. I do not understand how people can say that he was a , even though he was not guilty.

Sure, you can make jokes about him, but at least wait at least a couple of days before you do. Sure he had a controversial personal life, he was a brilliant artist, maybe greater than Elvis.

And I'm not someone who is just jumping on the bandwagon becuae he has died, to me he is a legend, and I have thought this for probably 4-5 years, since I started taking a real interest in music.

I am not an extreme fan, not someone who is balling his eyes out, ands life is destroyed. I am a fan, who is saddened by the news coming out of California today. If everyone would just let people pay there respects, then people can criticise it/him in another couple of days.

RIP Michael

Lets remember him as a genius first, a freak second.

I'd have to question that part of your post.

He wasn't personally going to have any bearing on their lives but his music brought pleasure to millions and although blubbering away on live tv is a bit much his death will hit a lot of people.

How dare you come on here trying to be rational ;)

So sad, I've never really been a fan. I'm sure the rehearsals for all the gigs was just too much for an already unwell man.

So young, so tragic.

RIP

I can remember Elvis and John Lennon both dying and tbh this doesn't feel the same at all, maybe because I'm older. He certainly was the biggest star of the 80s so I should really care more but I'm just meh.

Alexei, you can try to wind me up with jaded internet pictures but you have a track record for acting like a pompous twat (on here and through PM's, remember) so for the time being I'll leave this be and let people get on with discussing Jackson.

It's so sad that he died and never got to reclaim his place as the king of pop!!!!

I hope one day you'll understand the irony of the internet. :fc:

Then stop replying. lol

Oh, just one more :D

One thing that has always bemused me is how Uri Geller always pops up in Jackson related incidents. Geller bends spoons and shit, how the hell did they become best mates?

I hope Exeter City will hold a minute's silence for him at their first game of the season. After all, he was briefly on their board of directors wasn't he?
