breadandcheese Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 RIP Sir Bobby. A true gent and a great of the modern game. World cup 90 was the tournament that sparked my interest in football. Thank you Sir Bobby.
Jon the Hat Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 Always a class act, and a gentleman of the sport. RIP Sir Bobby.
Fox in a Box Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 Read his book it is a real eye opener, gutted today RIP.
Kilworthfox Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 Rest In Peace A gentleman of the game who served the game and his country well. There should be a minutes silence at every ground for the 1st fixture of every English club.
Jay Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 A great servant to European football Sir Bobby was a man who loved the game like a 12year old boy does with little thought towards the money, greed and politics that football has descended into. he showed great passion yet with total humility and honesty. He didn't have a big ego he just saw the game as it was and had a natural love for the game that gave him so much
ob1kanobe0 Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 Great man, sad loss for football because he played it the right way and was England's most successful manager in a world cup finals abroad.
AjcW Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 I know we always say it but someone that great did not deserve to go to a terrible disease like that. Fair play to the legend for fighting it off five times! As a barcelona and newcastle fan you did fantastic work at both clubs. RIP. Your so great infact that you just made me admit on foxestalk my secret newcastle interest(its a family thing )

Nice little piece on the Barca blog. http://fcbtransfers.blogspot.com/2009/07/e...bby-robson.html
Jordan Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 They don't make 'em like him anymore. He'll be missed.
Darkzzz_ Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 “I have no words to speak about Mr Robson. That's why for a few months I have been unable to talk to him. It is difficult to accept such a person is no longer with us - but he is immortal because he leaves in everybody who knows him a mark of his personality - a great coach but, more than that, a great person.” Jose Mourinho.
Simi Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 Some of the words that have been said by people who knew him really do make you realise how much of an impact this man had on football. From Jack Charlton to Jose Mourinho, everyone has said something touching and heartfelt. From what the average football fan could see he was a true gentleman that would always stick to his guns. Also, a loyal servant to pretty much every club that he has ever been with. Cancer is a terrible disease and it has taken yet another person from us. R.I.P Sir Bobby.
MPH Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 Just saw this on the news.... im gutted..... this is the first real true great i have known when growing up..... he was just massive, he WILL be missed......
Poakey Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 NNNOOOOO!!!!! I was hoping it was some sort of sick FT joke when i read Bobby Robson RIP. Gutted. RIP Bobby.
flanimal Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 It's impossible to not admire and like Bobby Robson. He had a brilliant attitude and was true legend. RIP, a great man.
James. Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 Gutted about this. Rest in peace Bobby. Football loses another gent.
lou Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 It's impossible to not admire and like Bobby Robson. He had a brilliant attitude and was true legend. RIP, a great man. Totally true. Im not usually one to get upset about famous people dying but have cried this morning. He just seemed such a bloody nice bloke and so so humble. His tribute on the Sports Personality of the Year show had me in bits. Hes so loved by so many. Why do all the best people seem to be the ones who have to suffer the most? In this ever increasingly cynical world of football his is a MASSIVE loss IMO. There arent enough people like him in the world. Deepest condolances to all his family and all connected to this great, great man. RIP XXX
Corky Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 A true legend of football and seemed a genuinely nice man as well. RIP Sir Bobby.
