Budweiser Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 Gutted. A true gentleman both on and off the pitch. R.I.P
Fox92 Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 A really big shame to everyone connected with football. RIP Sir Bobby Robson you were a true legend, a true footballer and true hero to everyone connected with the beautiful game, I am sure that your spirit will live on and in a sense, you will never actually die like Clough.
Matt Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 RIP. He really did look awfully ill last week though, so perhaps it's a good thing he is out of his misery and he won't be in any more pain. RIP once again.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 Absolute Legend. Lovely guy and dedicated to football. He is probably the most liked England manager ever despite not quite winning any thing. RIP
Basingstoke Fox Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 I woke up about 20 minutes ago and could not believe that! Such a shame to lose someone like him. R.I.P
Tevez Posted 31 July 2009 Author Posted 31 July 2009 A legend left the beautiful game today. Rest in Peace.
Tilley Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 Legend is tossed around alot these days, but he is a legend. A sad day for football to lose such a gentleman and someone so passionate about the game. Rest In Peace Sir.
Ultra Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 RIP. Very few English managers (Roy Hodgson apart) achieve success overseas. The fact Sir Bobby found it in THREE other countries is a testament to his exceptional ability. He ranks along Brian Clough as the best manager of his generation, and his passing will be widely mourned all over Europe.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 Just heard there will be a minute applause for the opening day. Ipswich are making their match with Valladoloid tonight a memorial game.
Guest Bilo Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 No real surprise to hear of his passing after seeing him last week, but that hasn't made the news any easier to hear. He managed the England team that has come closest to emulating the success of the 1966 outfit, took unfashionable Ipswich to UEFA Cup glory and won further European honours with Porto and Barcelona. No other English manager has even come close to that level of success. RIP Bobby, you were a true legend of the game and will be sadly missed.
BoneDog Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 Only just found out about this, gutted. Bobby was the only England manager in 20 years I have had any love for. Respect brother
Webbo Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 I don't usually post in these RIP threads but I'll make an exception this time. A true gent and a legendary manager.
Cobbo Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 Well it was expected I suppose, but I am gutted. Loved the man. Fell in love with football at Italia '90, mainly thanks to the man himself.
Phube Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 R.I.P. To the man who made supporting England exciting again...
simes240170 Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 R.I.P. Sir Bobby .Sleep soundly Knowing You are a legend.
Bert Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 R.I.P Sir Bobby Robson - Someone who we can actually call a legend.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 I was gutted today, you just couldn't hate the man. He always had a smile on his face and to be fair nearly won us the world cup. Why i hate Newcastle, the way they got rid of him. But to be fair the fans love the man and rightly so. R.I.P
carterfox90 Posted 1 August 2009 Posted 1 August 2009 R.I.P. Sir bobby robson a true legend & genuine nice guy of football who will be sorely missed
