lou Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Radio Leicester, it was from the press conference today, will say more later and it said that Pearson had "strong feelings" on the subject, so it'll probably be clips of him going mental. I really wouldnt wanna be on the end of Nigel Pearsons "strong feelings"
Milky Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Sounds like Pearson is angry. Considering how much the club has done for him, it must feel like a kick in the balls to some in the academy.
Jon the Hat Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 The only problem with expressing such strong feelings is that sometimes a player we really need will ask for a transfer. Do we actually want it to be the case that anyone who wants to knows they can force a move. A little more subtlety may be required over time.
deepbluedevil Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 not that bothered to be honest i worry every time a decent player attacks him although it makes us look a bit weak when hes not even going to a prem team
Babylon Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Mattock played a major part in Leicester's League One title-winning campaign last term No he didn't!!!! The only person he did less was bloody Dickov. Really not that bothered if he goes, just make them pay top bloody dollar. If they won't pay what we want then tough shit, it's about time we played hard ball.
CosbehFox Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 This.... he was shite last season anyway. Hope we get a decent amount. Personally thought that given his talent and promise, he was the worst in performance last year. If he wanted to leave and his contract is running out, it's a fair move.
Hackneyisblue Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Sounds like Pearson is angry. Considering how much the club has done for him, it must feel like a kick in the balls to some in the academy. Pearson obviously wanted to keep him then (which makes me wish he was staying) as Mattock will lose his 10% signing on fee and any loyalty bonus by asking for a move. So all of those who claim to be friends of friends or family and that Joe won't leave because he bleeds blue blue have been fooled for at least 12 months. Just goes to show, footballers aren't that stupid that they'll tell someone in the street/bar the truth, they tell you what you want to hear.
DangerLuke Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 WBA is a strange transfer in my opinion, more of a sideways move than a move forward for him surely? Anyway, onwards and upwards for us I say, I trust NP and I'm sure he'll invest the money wisely...
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 He is shite any way. Gets done for pace all the time, no loss.
Milky Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Hang on, he asked for a transfer last year!? What a twat. Thought he was too good for league one hey. Shame they had his pants down week in week out.

morris1234 Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ity/8188088.stm confirmed transfer request (according to RL though )
Tevez Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 I think Berner will do a far better job and even Powell. Nice bit of cash from someone who promised so much and couldn't produce.
Tilley Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Bye dickhead. Overrated dick, handing in a transfer request? What a cock. Get some decent money for him Milan and get us a fucking striker!
Mark Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Bit gutting to lose him to another Championship team though, whatever you think he's going to improve and become a better player elsewhere now. Hopefully we have a good % sell on. Now so long as use the money to sort out up front...

The Cynic is me is now wondering if he was so poor last season bacause he had spat his dummy out and wasnt trying. Hope he fails in a big way if thats the case
Dr The Singh Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 If he wants to go, let him, for a price were all happy with obcourse!! This is the nature of footy these days, I think we all should move on a continue to focus on people who want to be at the club!!
morris1234 Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 IF he sees any of the money! exactly what im scared of! the thing is nige and milan arent idiots, if they let him go then they should have somebody already in mind first.
leicesterseddon Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Well if this is true I'll look a right nobber having rubbished a move earlier today To the outside footballing world this move would make us look very small-time by selling one of our young players to a club in the same division. Let's not forget that when/if the transfer goes through, it will be presented as us selling our 'highly rated' England U19 international. Personally I'm not too bothered about him moving as last season he was hugely disappointing in what was, let's face it, a poor division. He lacks pace and is still quite error-prone - in all honesty, we looked much more solid last season with Berner at left-back. In my eyes a move to West Brom would be nothing but a move sideways for him, but if these reports are true, he's obviously got his heart set on going there. Perhaps this just shows how far down in the pecking order you go when you spend a season in the Thrid Division... Even so, I'd be disappointed if we got anything less than £2m for him, money which I hope (but don't expect) will be used to strengthen our squad either before the transfer window shuts or in January.
Babylon Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Someone ring Man City and let them know he's available.
One Half Wonder Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 Baggies launch Mattock bid http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_5476399,00.html - sounds quite definate but can't see why he would go there instead of West Ham, Everton, Villa etc. West Bromwich Albion have made a bid for England Under-21 star Joe Mattock, skysports.com understands. The Baggies are looking to bolster their options at left-back following the departure of Paul Robinson to Bolton. Now Baggies boss Roberto Di Matteo has made his move and has opened talks with Leicester about Mattock. Mattock has come through the ranks at the Walkers Stadium and, despite only being 19 years old, he has made over 70 first-team appearances. Mattock played a major part in Leicester's League One title-winning campaign last term, but now the Baggies are confident they can seal a deal for the youngster.
Sirloin Posted 6 August 2009 Author Posted 6 August 2009 Well Pearson really didn't get on well with the West Brom chairman in his time there, so he may be angry over the destination as much as the manner.
lildave3 Posted 6 August 2009 Posted 6 August 2009 I won't miss him. Textbook Baggies signing really, he's quite good going forward but pretty shit at defending.
