Mattock hands in transfer request

Dads just phoned me up to tell me, he also handed one in last year!

Whats going on?!

I thought he supported Leicester, why's he done this?

Sureley a move to another club within this division, mentions of WBA and Forest, is not a step forward. If he goes to West Ham/Tottenham than I think I can understand.

Very dissapointed in the lad.

Replacements?

Spurr - Sheffield Wednesday

Lewington - MK Dons

Bertrand - Chelsea

Don't sell him for less than, 3million surley?

Money grabbing bastard  Its the only reason for leaving surely? I wouldn't even think of selling him to another CCC club. Cash him in a get some better attacking options.....

What an absolute cunny.

A) He's supposed to support Leicester - why would he want to move to a Midlands rival

B) It's not like he's stepping up a level

C) He's not that good anyway.

Unbelievable. The lad has not yet had one good season where you can say he's made an impact. He's kidding himself if he thinks he's ready for premiership football, so he can only be moving to a club in the same league as us or to a premier league club's bench. Poor show.

Its amusing how everyone iss saying he is shit and that we won't miss him but with just berner and chris powell we clearly will miss him. Although, we are bound to replace him. We should hold out for a very good fee for him at least.

No, we wont, not if he played anything like he did last season. :)

I agree that we'll miss him but people have been saying he's shit all season really. Regularly one of the lowest ranked players on Sheff Fox's match ratings.

I hope this is true but I have a hunch it's another of Babylon's rumour snowballs.

The money people are talking about is crazy - I think we'll do well to get 1.5m for him, that's if they've seen him on platforms other than youtube.

He got a lot of stick from the fans given how young he is, but as stated he hasn't improved over the past 2 years. Should at least provide some nice openings for N'Guessen/Dyer when we play them.

Has the Pearson interview been mentioned in here yet? If not (well, regardless), here it is...

Furious Foxes manager Nigel Pearson said: "It's a situation that has been driven by him.

"In terms of confirming where he goes and for how much, I can't do that, but I'd expect it to be resolved shortly."

Pearson said the manner of the request had infuriated him.

"I like to deal with people straight up," he said.

"I don't like it when the player rings the chairman when we are playing a pre-season game to ask to leave when he is out of the country on international duty.

"That gives you a taste of the situation and we'll wait and see what happens."

Edit - Forgot to say, TOSSER.

He will do a Chris Gunter, only sh*tter and on the other flank.

Has anyone let Tottenham know he's young and English? They need to balance out their 8 right-backs with a similar number of left-backs and are usually happy to throw millions at anyone British under the age of 22.

Or Villa for that matter.

I think we'd get more money of a team like villa to be honest. We can then use that money on a striker and bring armand traore on loan.

What a prat!

Leaves the club in the lurch just days before the new season starts.

Never been overly impressed with him anyway (Hereford) lol

Close the door on your way out Joe.

I would think in general a player would request a trasfer when he becomes aware that it is an option. Was he supposed to wait until he got back? I think Nigel should probably keep his mouth shut to be honest.

To be honest I think the least he could have done is to contact NP and the club and have the courtesy to explain his reasons for wanting to leave and try to negociate a transfer more amicably. He owes the club a lot having risen through the ranks, and in particular owes NP for sticking with him last season during his poor spells. I can't possibly even fathom why he would want to go to Forest, but even if he ends up going to West Brom I think it hardly justifies handing in a transfer request just days before the start of the season.

July 24th - "I'm focused on playing well for England and then taking that back with me to Leicester"

August 6th - Mattock hands in transfer request and we learn he handed one in at the same stage last season.

But, as others have said, I don't think we'll miss him...

He didn't have a poor season last year, he didnt make many mistakes and was a solid place in our defence which played a big part in us gaining promotion. But i do agree that he didn't have as good a season as people expected. But then again he is 19 years old and its just the classic case off leicester fans criticising young players when they dont perform. Most players are inconsistent when they are young, you should let them learn from their mistakes and develop.

He looked like he might be the real deal, when he first came into the team, but disappointingly, hasnt really progressed.

He still has the potential, and maybe, moving on, and out of his comfort zone, is what he needs to fullfil it.

If he moves to another club in the championship, which is looking likely, then it does seem a bit of a strange one.

Certainly no guarantee that wba or f****t, will be promoted this season, and so, it does seem to be more a move sideways than forward.

Seems to hurt more when a local lad, asks for a transfer, cos as a fan, we like to think, they have the club in their hearts, as much as we do.

Truth is, its just a job to them, and loyalty goes out the window.

I just hope we can squeeze as much money as possible, out of the transfer, and that milan gives pearson the money,to invest in the team.
