Don't know if its been posted or not but it seems Holloways after him again. Link

I was chatting to a few Blackpool fans while at work last night taking them to the game on the bus. They really want DJ to sign, but they don't want greedy players and considering the average BFC player is on about 3-4k a week it's a massive stumbling block thats holding up the deal as we all know.

If i were DJ and was getting paid 9-12k a week, id sit on my arse and see out my contract rather than taking a pay cut.

Time to earn your coin, put him in and give the lad a run out. He just might suprise us all.

Ideal time would be against Preston in the cup but needs must and if we need him on Saturday then so be it, rather him than Dickov.

I would rather he earned his wages.

Those saying he wouldn't give his all if recalled to the side are naive. If he wants away as much as he says, he needs to prove he's not an overgrown, sulking brat, and show what he's capable of on the pitch. Him starting on Saturday and playing well is in the best interests of both the club and the player himself, and if he can't see that, then he's thicker than I gave him credit for.

Its hard 'init.

If we don't get anyone in on loan or not he can do a job on the bench.

If we sign someone or get someone in on loan he can get lost.

He is too lightweight for a striker, although he as the pace needed.

I'd rather have him than Dickov if i'm honest.

in all honesty so would i. better playing him if howard and waghorn aren't fit than dickov

surely Pearson is more likely to use Craig King though

its that the lad who came on in the JPT last season against lincoln? :dunno::dunno:

Dont mind either way but we are still paying him. Does he train with the first team anyway or has NP left him to rot in the U18's?

He trains with "the bomb squad" as they call it down the training ground. Taggart is in charge of it.

Sappleton and Porter are in it too.

Well, he played well tonight, and didn't act like a player with a chip on his shoulder. He got on with the job, and he executed it well. He knows that if he does want out, he's got to knuckle down, and fair play to him for that. He could quite easily not bother and still pocket the money, but he clearly isn't keen on that option.

That is good to hear! Hope he does feature as he clearly can cut it in this league.

Good to hear.

Always nice to have as many options available as possible, so he might still feature.

It's about cutting your nose off to spite your face.

I personally don't want to see him in a Leicester shirt again, but let's face it, on the current personal we have at the club, he is probably the 4th best striker at the club, and if Fryatt, Howard & Waghorn were all injured, I would get him in.

It would have to be as a last resort, but i'd rather we played him, then change system or play someone totally unproven.

I'm sure Pearson rates Dickov higher than Campbell, so unless someone comes in this week, I can certainly see Campbell on the bench, but i'm sure Dickov would start ahead of him.

Be very nice if he plays Saturday now.

I would really enjoy it if he gets a goal and kisses the LCFC badge.

Come on Dj come on!

If he is given a chance by NP and ends up staying this season, we could be a serious 5th-8th place contender.

I would say we are looking at 8th-12th currently based on what i've seen.

Sign up Kermo too, very exciting this.

It makes me chuckle when I read such opposing views on this forum.

The consensus before the start of the season would suggest, generally speaking, that everyone would be happy with a finish around 12-16. I was one of those who felt a little more optimistic and went for a top ten finish.

We're 3 games in, and 2 (maybe 3) impressive results in, and people are now talking about top half finishes and the need to get this striker in to earn a promotion push.

We were never far off this in the first place. It amazes me, on the back of 3 results, how people's views can change.

I'm sticking with mine, although I never had any doubt we'd make a good shout of it this season. It just proves to me once again that the actual gap between L1 and championship is fairly small, and if you can get yourself playing football, rather than championship hoofball, you stand a chance.

Whether DJ can provide this promotion push or not, is for NP to decide. It goes much further than we, as fans, can understand.

right or wrong I really don't see DJ as being seriously involved judging by the reported discussions that have been taking place with Blackpool.

The seasiders have clearly been allowed to talk to him - first about a loan and then a permanent move - and the major issue seems to be Campbell's wages.

There is never any certainty how such talks will end but it does suggest that Pearson won't weep over his departure and that City will be glad to see him disappear from the payroll.

yes i would. He earns a big paycheck, and we shouldn't be paying that much for a reserve player. We need a striker to step up on saturday, and dickov can't play the full 90 anymore, and even if he did i'm not sure how well he would do. DJ can add a bit of pace, and maybe he will prove himself who knows. But i really think he should be given one more chance, and if he throws it back in our faces then he should be sold.

I have heard from elsewhere that DJ isn't that popular with the players, if this is the case then I can't see him getting much of a chance.
