Benji Posted 28 August 2009 Posted 28 August 2009 This is going to be a real stupid question, but why do they hate each other so much?
Finnegan Posted 29 August 2009 Posted 29 August 2009 Safe to say ASH17LCFC has just committed suicide. And Valerenga just filled his pants.
Simi Posted 29 August 2009 Posted 29 August 2009 This is going to be a real stupid question, but why do they hate each other so much? They always have. This has been brewing for years and now it's got too much. Liam has apparenrtly smashed Noel's favourite guitar up and that has ended it.
Libertine Posted 29 August 2009 Posted 29 August 2009 Liam has apparenrtly smashed Noel's favourite guitar up and that has ended it. Being a guitar player, fair enough Noel. You do NOT do that.
Matt Posted 29 August 2009 Posted 29 August 2009 RIP Oasis! For now Noel's wanted to focus on some solo stuff for a while now though, so hopefully he can do some decent solo stuff, Liam needs Noel/The band to do anything. Does make me very happy I managed to see them a few months ago now though, I said at the time I just wanted to say i've seen them live, one of the biggest bands of my time i'd say.

No matter what the albums are like now, they can still rock it.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 29 August 2009 Posted 29 August 2009 Safe to say ASH17LCFC has just committed suicide. !!! For how long. Duh! Forever! And as far as Oasis are concerned well at least now on of them might get back to making decent music!
Uncle Albert Posted 29 August 2009 Posted 29 August 2009 Was on the card's for a while but like people have said I can see them making a reunion in a couple of years. Hopefully anyway. I grew up with Oasis because of my old man and for them to break up is quite sad news. There music will never be beaten for me in my lifetime.
Darkzzz_ Posted 29 August 2009 Posted 29 August 2009 Glad I seen them in Barcelona in February, it was a great gig. Not as disappointed as a lot of fans, Actually looking forward to Noel going it alone.

My favourite songs on the last few albums were always the ones Noel sang anyway.
purpleronnie Posted 29 August 2009 Posted 29 August 2009 Never a big fan but like most people I bought the first 2 albums, after that I found them tedius, but always liked thier attitude, I heard them live a year or so ago and liams voice was terrible, good rock 'n roll band I guess.
Lillehamring Posted 29 August 2009 Posted 29 August 2009 And Valerenga just filled his pants. nah, i've grown to tolerate him, mostly, now - yes he is shamefully narrow-minded, but at least he's passionate... as for the split, well, didn't we already know that they were going on a five year hiatus and planning a noel solo album? so no surprise really, i'm guessing it is more to do with creating news than that we'll never hear from them again... after seeing that youtube clip of noel busking on stage, i can't imagine the solo stuff being very special, although he'll obviously have a big resource of musicians and producers behind him....and no doubt oasis fans will buy it regardless, so hardly the end of an era...
Flynny Posted 29 August 2009 Posted 29 August 2009 I could actually see Noel being more flexible without having to appease his troglodyte brother, look forward to hearing his solo stuff.
Babylon Posted 29 August 2009 Author Posted 29 August 2009 I could actually see Noel being more flexible without having to appease his troglodyte brother, look forward to hearing his solo stuff. I agree, I'd go as far as saying I'm quite pleased about it. Even as big a fan as I was I'd started to not really care, the last album and the wembley concert I went to this summer left me fairly cold compared to previous concerts and albums. I'd even liked their later stuff, not just the first couple of albums. I don't think there is much doubt, that he has been held back somewhat by Liams stance on the kind of music he wanted Oasis to play. Hopefully it does free him up to experiment a bit. I preferred Noels singing on albums so i'm definitely looking forward to something new from him. I've never been keen on Liam, his rock and roll hard man act just becomes more pathetic the older I get. His vocals are shocking compared to what they use to be also... so he's no great loss for me.
stez Posted 29 August 2009 Posted 29 August 2009 hey ho. it'd be nice to see him explore some other stuff though, like he has in the past with the chem bros, ian brown and goldie.
Guest Posted 29 August 2009 Posted 29 August 2009 I'm sure that someday they will return, at some considerable cost. Aren't I cynical.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 29 August 2009 Posted 29 August 2009 Safe to say ASH17LCFC has just committed suicide. I only found out when i got in last night. I knew it was coming for quite awhile. My thread got laughed at a few days ago by posters but only Liam deny it and Noel didn't say a word. Heartbroken would be a understatement but can't wait for king noel solo album. I just hope we get a reunion concert someday but they have left a huge gap now. They were the greatest rock and roll band in my opinion since The Beatles. I can't really put it into word how i feeling.
