Samilktray Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 Robbie Neilson? Hearts' Neilson to join Leicester Robbie Neilson is out of contract with Hearts this summer Hearts defender Robbie Neilson has agreed terms with Leicester City and will leave Tynecastle in the summer. The 28-year-old right-back and club captain is Hearts' longest-serving player after joining from Rangers 13 years ago. Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo had hoped to persuade Neilson to sign a new contract with the Edinburgh club. But Sunday's final Scottish Premier League game of the season against Celtic will be his last appearance
Finnegan Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 Only in the rumours thread as I can see. Tidy. BBC Sport is almost concrete really. Sorry, yes, I wasn't disputing that - my comment was in response to the original thread title which was "has this been posted yet?" I edited it to make this THE thread for this signing.
Kilworthfox Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 Robbie Nielson? I hope he has a stormer in his last appearance in a Hearts shirt
Finnegan Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 I hope he has a stormer in his last appearance in a Hearts shirt I hope he scores ten own goals and moons the Tynecastle crowd with "MON THE HIBEES" on one ass cheek and "UP THE BHOYS" on the other.
Kilworthfox Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 I hope he scores ten own goals and moons the Tynecastle crowd with "MON THE HIBEES" on one ass cheek and "UP THE BHOYS" on the other. Learn more about our new boy... You would, you don't like winners!
Guest Bilo Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 I can just hear the 'gyppo' chants` now. Never too sure about signing SPL players in fairness, such a weak league even the Championship can be a big step up in quality. Still, Pearson and his team haven't let us down thus far and he is an experienced right-back at one of the better clubs in Scotland, and is clearly well regarded at Tynecastle. Hope he can do well.
Brainy Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 Thought this was an old thread from when we signed Alan Maybury, godknows whether he was captain though.
Ozwin Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 He looks like a viking. But yeah, he looks like a badass and a more ruthless player which is what we've bee missing tbh.
Milky Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 http://www.hmfckickback.co.uk/showthread.php?t=51730 Hearts forum thread. You had very little in the way of footballing talent but what you lacked in abaility you made up for in heart and effort. Never the best player in the world but he gave his everything. His goal against Basle was pretty special too. He's been a very ordinary player at SPL level so I doubt he'll do much at championship level either. Not particuarly disappointed he's gone but, Leicester? Oh please be true! Not going to lose any sleep over it. We have Eggert Jonsson who is a better player (IMO) for right back. There is a God afterall.
Cropwellfox Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 Long throw, runs all day, rarely ever scores, very popular with Hearts fans. Got into the Scotland squad three years back then was out with injury for a while. Good signing.
Finnegan Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 I really can't wait for the day some of the dickheads on this forum get over all this "weak league" shit about the SPL. Yes, it isn't the best but nor is the Championship. Hearts, Hibs, Dundee, Motherwell, Celtic and Rangers all have some quality players that I wouldn't turn down. Seriously.
MC Prussian Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 I'm still waiting for this rumour to be confirmed. Would make sense signing a reliable, fighting right back, though. Mattock won't be too pleased with this announcement...
Libertine Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 It's all about how Big Nige gets him playing innit dawgs. I'm still waiting for this rumour to be confirmed. Would make sense signing a reliable, fighting right back, though.Mattock won't be too pleased with this announcement... But Mattock's a left back...

morris1234 Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 lets not get on his back already for god sake! good signing, experience and fight just what you need for championship, hes not going to be amazing because hes a right back!!
Darkzzz_ Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 Not seen much of him to form an opinion. Hope he does well and welcome. He has sexy hair.
Bert Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 Wow. This does come as a surprise to me.
Dan Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 Just hope he is better than Gilbert. Also the fact that he was at Hearts for 13 years of his career and he rejected them for us means that he has quite a determination to play for a team like us, and I like it.
teblin Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 Seemed steady when i have seen him play. I'll go with pearsons judgement on this one.
