MC Prussian Posted 26 October 2009 Posted 26 October 2009 Ah well, we've won away from home. Up to fifth in the table. Not too shabby for a newly-promoted team in the Championship. In the past, we'd have simply lost the way Reading did today. And we could've lost by three, four goals easily. Especially in the first half. The team as a whole played real bad, only a few single players stood somewhat out. Take off McGivern against QPR, King was a real disappointment in the first (played better in the 2nd, albeit as a defender). If you bring on the DJ, you gotta feed him, too. Didn't happen today. More offsides than chances for Campbell. All in all, rather shocking. But we've won. How the fook did that happen???
Daggers Posted 26 October 2009 Posted 26 October 2009 Shit. Three points, great header. But shit. Woeful defending at times, poor midfield, bizarre substitutions. Play like this on Friday and we'll be totally mullered.
Tilley Posted 26 October 2009 Posted 26 October 2009 Absolutely awful performance. That was the true meaning of smash and grab. Neilson and McGivern must be dropped Friday night, we need to improve massively. 5th nonetheless.

Stuliasz Posted 26 October 2009 Posted 26 October 2009 How the fook we won that I'll never know. If we can play that shite and still win we must stand a chance. Thank god their strikers are so bad.
jonthefox Posted 26 October 2009 Posted 26 October 2009 A scrappy win. some poor performances. but like the man said. if you play shit and still win your going places.
Ricey Posted 26 October 2009 Posted 26 October 2009 I think 'awful' is very over the top. We weren't great but we created a few chances and looked tough in midfield. McGivern was the big worry for me, no positional sense or pace. Delighted with the win though as Reading were up for it.
Finnegan Posted 26 October 2009 Posted 26 October 2009 Thrilled with the result but agree with the criticisms. Thought McGivern was poor and didn't rate him that highly against Palace, either. Thought Oakley was dire again, got a little bit better in the last fifteen minutes but really offers nothing. Do Wellens and King really need him in the team to babysit or can we not actually stick a proper winger on? Fair play though, while they should have had hat fulls - we did create openings ourselves and Fryatt should have bagged a couple. I can actually only remember him scoring like one 1-on-1 ever, am I being harsh?
MC Prussian Posted 26 October 2009 Author Posted 26 October 2009 I fear the wrath of QPR on Friday, tell you.
Finchy Posted 26 October 2009 Posted 26 October 2009 Sh*te, but we got 3 points, exactly what wouldn't have happened a few years ago. Yet another clean sheet and we're in the play off places, very happy.
Budweiser Posted 26 October 2009 Posted 26 October 2009 I do not give a shit if we played badly, we won. Thats all that matters.
Daggers Posted 26 October 2009 Posted 26 October 2009 Perfect away win Nurse? NURSE! I want the drugs this fine gentleman is on. In fact, give me a double portion - there's a love. x
Raj Posted 26 October 2009 Posted 26 October 2009 If we win 8-0 on Friday we're top Easy!!! "Bout time we did to teams what they would normally do to us in previous seasons. Couldnt give a fcuk about the preformance at the moment(And im sure 90% of the fans who went would agree!) Let the results keep coming, the performances will follow(Hopefully!!!!!) Easy nightshift ahead!!!!

Mikey Posted 26 October 2009 Posted 26 October 2009 Poor performance, but good result. Any points away from home are points gained. Also 3 clean sheets in a row, don't know how that happened after that. Won't continue against QPR if we defend like we did today.
FilboFox Posted 26 October 2009 Posted 26 October 2009 Good win. Especially after some of the comments written about us from a certain Reading player. However, it was a poor performance and had Reading been a decent team in this division, we could easily have lost this match. That said, we won, we're 5th and looking up rather than down.
