sdb Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 we've beaten a team below us in the league by one goal. i'm as delighted as anyone but 10's all round is a little silly i feel

mancunianfox Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 All 9'sWould've been 10's if we'd gone top outright! Would have been eleven's considering we would have had to have fought back to win 8-1!!
Thracian Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 Television: Weale 8 (He was so well protected he didn't have that many saves to make but when he was called on he was reliable, brave and alert enough to make all the right decisions. Clearly enjoys the full confidence off the defence in front of him and with good reason). Neilson 8 (By far his best game for us. He's always given his all even when not at his best but tonight he stayed tight, dug in against skillful opponents and still made the effort to get forward in support). Hobbs 7 (Severely tested against some quick and brilliant ball-players who did tease him into the odd error or two. Came through though to stand sound like the rest). Brown 7 ("The beast" contested everything and finally emerged with the reward he so clearly craved). Berner 7 (Exposed at times by players getting to the byline behind him but still made a huge contribution by never going awol and never accepting second best). Oakley 7 (Much better than of late in forming a strong midfield trio which showed signs of blossoming as an integrated unit). King 8.5 (Outstanding for his reading of the game, his calmness in pressured situations, his seeing of the available passes and his being available for so many out balls and constructive one-twos). Wellens 7.5 (So much talent and determination but not a great defensive tackler by any means and always inclined to give an unnecessary free-kick away or get caught in possession. Nevertheless his confidence and influence continued to grow). N'Guessan 7 (Excellent cross for the assist to the opener. It really was an incisive four-man move and Fryatt's sublime header had to go down as something of a collectors item. Faded a bit second half which was understandable and tended to make the wrong choices which was not). Fryatt 10 (Two trademark striker's goals, both ruthlessly despatched. He can be such a frustrating player but he made something out on nothing in latching on to the suicidal throw-out from the QPR keeper and a brace away from home against such quality players is no mean achievement). Waghorn 8 (Pushed himself flat out to get in that six-yard box - something we have lacked in the team for so long - and was far too much for the Londoners to cope with. Denied the opening goal by a marginal offside decision and another similar goal by simply failing by inches to get his foot to the ball. Terrific all-round effort though and a big plus for our team). Sub: Gallagher 6.5 (Okay. We were gradually committing fewer men forward once he came on but he showed his experience in retaining possession well enough while a few of his team-mates started to take the difficult option and so gave the ball away too easily and quickly).
LoughboroughFox Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 Weale - 8 solid as ever Neilson - 8 best game yet Hobbs - 7.5 great timimg Brown - 8 bold beast Berner - 7 mcgiverns shit full stop Oakley - 7 captains roll Wellens - 8 great visibility King - 7 could of been better N'Guessan - 8.5 back to his best Fryatt - 8.5 confidence boost Waghorn - 8 great hold up
MC Prussian Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 You know there already is a ratings thread, Thrac. And as for your love for Andy King... Typical!
Bluefoxtim Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 we've beaten a team below us in the league by one goal. i'm as delighted as anyone but 10's all round is a little silly i feel After their superb run of form, in front of their own fans? Even despite that it was a fantastic performance.
Ricey Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 TV Weale 8 - Solid Neilson 7 - Some great challenges, gave the ball away now and again though Hobbs 8 - Rock. Solid Brown 9 - Rock. Solid Berner 7 Oakley 7 - Not his usual self, looked lacklustre Wellens 9 - Without him we would have lost, he had Taaroubt in his pocket in the 2nd half King 8 - Much much better N'Guessan 7.5 - Did what he needed t odo, pace and energy Fryatt 9 - The Fryatt we all love Waghorn 8 - Bar a couple of wayward shots and crosses, he chased everything and was a threat throughout Gallagher 7 - Kept the ball well
Pst Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 Weale - 8 best keeper we've had for years.. Neilson - 8 best he's player for us, could turn out to be a good signing Hobbs - 8 Nothing gets passed him Brown - 9 like Hobbs but this bloke is some sort of wall, gets in the way of everything Berner - 8 Solid as always Oakley - 7.5 Did what he could, a few good passes Wellens - 7.5 Some good tackles and some great passes King - 7 Defensive role again? Did his best but I think he is better attacking N'Guessan - 7.5 Anonymous for alot of the game but what a cross for the equalizer Fryatt - 9 Did exactly what he had to do... he doesnt seem fully fit though (MOM) Waghorn - 8 Can we sign him please?
sdb Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 After their superb run of form, in front of their own fans?Even despite that it was a fantastic performance. so if we'd gone to a half decent, in-form prem team and won what would people rate? 11's and 12's?! also who gave away the free kick in the 95th min? that wasn't wise.
RowlattsFox Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 Weale -7- Not much to do but did everything he had too well. Neilson -8- Credit where it's due, excellent game. Hobbs -8- Immense. Brown -8- Immense. Berner -8- As above. Oakley -7- Gave the ball away a bit but worked his socks off. Wellens -7- Worked hard, always wanted the ball. King -8- Best game of the season. N'Guessan -8- Great stuff, always a threat. Waghorn -8- Should have had a goal but worked hard, always looked likely. Fryatt -9- Wasn't great until he scored, but 2 goals and excellent work rate.
iancognito Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 TV Weale - 9 - Stopped everything, bled for the cause, no chance with the goal. Neilson - 8 - Best game in a City shirt. Disciplined and a lot more confident in possession. Berner - 8 - A total rock at the back, stayed back and did his job well. Hobbs - 8 - Woo! Fabio! That Rio chap's not playing too well is he? Brown - 8 - A couple of crunching tackles had QPR players requesting extra shin pads. Wellens - 7 - Gave a couple of unnecessary free kicks away but combined well with King & Oakley. King - 8 - Stepped up to the mantle and proved he can mix it with anyone at this level. Oakley - 7 - Out of position but made a great 1st half challenge and was yelling at the team like any good captain would. N'Guessan - 9 - Set up the first and scared the QPR defence witless. Like Neilson, best game for us and more to come we hope. Fryatt - 10* - Superbly taken goals, held the ball up and linked brilliantly with Waggy & N'Guessan. Waghorn - 8 - If his finishing was equal to his positioning & pace he'd have had Fabio on the phone to Pearce for a call up. Must stay in the side, because he drags two defenders with him and creates space for Fryatt. Subs didn't get long enough really but Gallagher must think himself unlucky to have missed out on a starting place tonight. Pearson's tactics - apart from that strange switch in the first half to 4-5-1 - were spot on and his team selection & subs were perfect again.
Legend_in_blue Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 HDTV: Weale - 8 - Good hands, good hands. Neilson - 8.5 - It would appear that I am not the only one who rates Robbie Neilson. People are finally seeing the light! Brown - 9 - BEAST. Hobbs - 8 - Solid as usual. Berner - 8 - Clever play as usual. N'Guessan - 8.5 - His best game for us imo. Played extremely well and some sublime touches. King - 8 - His contribution is so unnoticeable, it's that good. Never appeared to put a foot wrong. Calm and assured. Wellens - 8 - I made a comment at half time about raising his game 2nd half to see us through to a win. Second half he did not disappoint. Superb performance. Oakley - 8 - Linked up well with Neilson down the right. Used the ball well. Fryatt - 9 - Took his goals well. Time and space though - he never disappoints. Waghorn - 8 - Constant threat up front. Deserved a goal. Subs: Gallagher - 7 - Never wasted the ball and looked to play others in. McGivern - N/a NP - 8 - Tactical genius with this game. Continue in similar fashion and my prediction of 10th may seem a tad harsh.
