davieG Posted 17 December 2009 Posted 17 December 2009 From OS City striker Yann Kermorgant has signed a new contract which will see him stay at the Walkers Stadium until the summer of 2012. The French striker has made five starts for the Foxes so far this season, coming off the bench on three occasions, including the latest 3-0 win against Sheffield Wednesday. Yann is yet to score for City, but Manager Nigel Pearson sees plenty of promise in his latest acquisition. Nigel said: "I'm sure the fans will see a lot more from him. We hold in him high regard at the club, so it's a delight to prolong his involvement at the Walkers."
DeclanMC Posted 17 December 2009 Posted 17 December 2009 According to wiki, 28? I thought he was younger than that. Good player though
Guest Bilo Posted 17 December 2009 Posted 17 December 2009 The replacement for Howard? It would appear so though he may need to beef up a bit to play the role. Still; he's streets ahead technically, has age on his side and looks more into winning the ball for himself. Pleased as long as he isn't on silly money.

I'm sure his silly money will be on a par with all the other silly money paid to our players and others.
Kilworthfox Posted 17 December 2009 Posted 17 December 2009 Good signing. We don't have any money let alone silly money so I am sure financially we will have signed him on reasonable terms.
MPH Posted 17 December 2009 Posted 17 December 2009 Pleased about this. He has earnt it, been patient and put the effort in when called upon and not looked out of place in a championship teaming aiming for the top 6...
lcfcsnow Posted 17 December 2009 Posted 17 December 2009 Whats the guy done to warrent a 2 and a half year contract? 8 appearances 0 goals 0 assists just a few off target speculative shots. He's not even allowed to take corners or free kicks which is his supposed speciality. Almost as surprising as giving Robbie Neilson 3 years.

He's not even allowed to take corners or free kicks which is his supposed speciality.Almost as surprising as giving Robbie Neilson 3 years. He's had 5 appearances for us. 2 starts, and 3 subs. And even when he has played, he's played out of position at times.

RowlattsFox Posted 17 December 2009 Posted 17 December 2009 I'm pleased with this, I like the look of him. Only had 2 starts upfront away from home where he had no service whatsoever, couple of starts in midfield where I thought he looked pretty decent and a couple of cameo sub appearances. Bit early to judge him either way, but I would like to see him get more game time. Thought he should have came on earlier against Sheff Wed, would have been ideal.
Daggers Posted 17 December 2009 Posted 17 December 2009 ...even when he has played, he's played out of position at times. It's the Leicester way

He's not even allowed to take corners or free kicks which is his supposed speciality.Almost as surprising as giving Robbie Neilson 3 years. 1)He's French 2)His name is Yann Kermorgant 3) 4)Nige probably sees that he is quality on a daily basis or summat Some people get 4 year contracts without having kicked a ball for their new club, what's that got to do with anything?
Daggers Posted 17 December 2009 Posted 17 December 2009 Is it just me - or do we appear to have signed him every month? I hope we sign him in January too.

volpeazzurro Posted 17 December 2009 Posted 17 December 2009 Couldn't agree more, baffling decision. I agree entirely, baffling. He needs to show more than a bit of promise at 28! However, if we ever decided to play 2 wide men and got some balls into the oppositions box then we could perhaps judge him a bit better. His record at second rate French clubs is hardly inspiring stuff though is it. Waste of money really I think, no better than what we've got already.
haraven Posted 17 December 2009 Posted 17 December 2009 I've not really seen the player, I hear he has some decent performances for us - I will sit back and hopefully be pleasurely surprised of his skills - NP has shown good style in getting the right player for a decent price, I hope this is the case here as well.
Daggers Posted 17 December 2009 Posted 17 December 2009 When Pearson gets the inevitable push, as he obviously will having made so many dodgy signings, I hope lcfcsnow, Walshy5, volpeazzurro and dandannieldanok get a crack at the whip - they really seem to know their onions.
Solihullfox Posted 17 December 2009 Posted 17 December 2009 Pleased about this - good in the air, calm, and provides movement up front. Due a goal and will probably be a spectacular effort when it comes. Really hope NP gives him a run of games to get that match fitness and match game mental speed that I think will make Yann a pretty good player for us.
