Rich Fox Posted 26 December 2009 Posted 26 December 2009 Overall it was a very good effort today, ive lost count of the amount of chances we created and could have put this game to bed but they are a decent side who have spent a fair bit of money. Fryatt was outstanding and his close control was great. Dyer deserves a lot of credit and made some good runs, not convinced oakely should play on the right but his corners at pace caused problems. I think we are better without Brown in the side and morrison did well and looks much more composed and cold have had a second goal if it wasnt tipped over by there goalkeeper, would like to see morrison keep his place with hobbs in the middle of defence even when brown is fit. Steve Howard deserves praise today he was a good outlet and with Dyer and Fryatt running on to his flicks he was causing some problems. Not too sure why Wellens takes the free kicks as he nearly always puts the ball miles over but he made some good long passes. Thought weale was a bit shakey at crosses today and the defence struggled a bit but the held out in the end. Well done Leicester.
Bluefoxtim Posted 26 December 2009 Posted 26 December 2009 I went, but hope someone recorded the game to upload
Bryn Posted 26 December 2009 Posted 26 December 2009 Still haven't seen Morrison play badly. I know I don't see a lot of games but I think the lads got a good future. Howard was better in second half for me, when the game gets wearier and scrappier he's effective, thought the ref gave him nothing as well. Thought McGivern gave his all in the second half, and should be credited for that. King, Fryatt and Dyer the stars for me though.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 26 December 2009 Posted 26 December 2009 I went, but hope someone recorded the game to upload You're not the only one, there's also a note of money waiting for someone if they are willing to provide a copy of the game on DVD too But i'll definitely take a torrent!
BedsFox Posted 26 December 2009 Posted 26 December 2009 City's record when Lloyd Dyer starts this season P10 W7 D3 L0 Pts 24.
jonthefox Posted 26 December 2009 Posted 26 December 2009 just got in. jesus it was fookin freezing tonight. an excellent team performance as well as some great individual efforts.(most notably dyer and howard). and i quite fancied the opera girl half time..
Guest Mee-9 Posted 26 December 2009 Posted 26 December 2009 No complaints, Howard played well. Lloyd Dyer played outstanding. Good result all round, back up to 4th with a game in hand:)
syston_fox Posted 26 December 2009 Posted 26 December 2009 Thoroughly entertaining game. Lloyd was immense. Luke O'Neil seemed out his depth. That is all.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 26 December 2009 Posted 26 December 2009 I loved it haven't slept all night and don't intend to every body loves a good win......yeoooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!
KFS Posted 26 December 2009 Posted 26 December 2009 What time does the football league show start? Flipping so called "scouse" hogged the tv in my local bar so i didn't get to watch the match!!!!!
DanTheFox07 Posted 26 December 2009 Posted 26 December 2009 Qulaity result 2nite even more so given the circumstances when we lost jack hobbs at half time, Think we saw our star of the future in morrison 2nite, He can hit a ball too! Fryatt was very hard to play against 2nite some great skill, looked very up for the game long may that continue. All in all We are looking in excellent shape going into the new year, waghorn is now available if im right? Dyer has found some form, Tunchev and Clemence look certain to return in the not too distant future! I predict a strong second half to the season for us!!!
Daggers Posted 26 December 2009 Posted 26 December 2009 Still haven't seen Morrison play badly. He had a couple of seriously dodgy moments tonight, one culminating in their goal - but I totally agree with the pretext that he is one of our brightest defensive talents...if that was your point I like Morrison a lot. More than anyone else other than Berner.
isaidno Posted 26 December 2009 Posted 26 December 2009 really enjoyed today's game . Dyer was brilliant today, his pace terrified the Utd defence . Had a bet on Morrison scoring the 1st goal, won 58 quid !

Waghorn has one more game of his suspension to serve More pressingly the identity of Monday's back four looks to be a concern
Jimmy Posted 26 December 2009 Posted 26 December 2009 Thought McGivern had his best game in a city shirt and looked quite comfortable at CB, O'Neill looks to have something about him but he struggled on his weaker side, Oakley played 2 or 3 hospital passes at times although he was better then usual, Morrison's shot to win the corner he scored from deserved to fly in but for Bunn to make 1 of several quality saves. for once we looked like we could score on every attack and were rarely (that iffy period just after HT apart) overly troubled at the back, if Hobbs is fit for Monday I'd prefer Morrison/Hobbs to Brown/Hobbs
ousefox Posted 26 December 2009 Posted 26 December 2009 Good performance from us today. Our midfield was great and Fryatt had one of his best games for us this season. Our defence did well considering it was made up of Mcgivern and O'Neill with a combined age less than Chris Powell, a BSP player a couple of seasons ago, and a RB who is normally anything but trustworthy. You can't give O'Neill too much stick considering he has had no real esperience in the first team and he was playing out of position in a shakey defence.
Fox You Forest Posted 26 December 2009 Posted 26 December 2009 Good result, everyone put a decent shift in today. Dyer and Fryatt were cracking, Morrison too. Witnessing McGivern shift inside is probably the most frightening ordeal I've ever been through although he did ok.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 26 December 2009 Posted 26 December 2009 Loved how much stick we gave to their keeper. Quality.
Captain... Posted 26 December 2009 Posted 26 December 2009 First match I've been too since Swansea. I thought it was a quality match but not a match of quality, we played well in spells and really impressed me with some patient build up play and nice short passing, but we still gave the ball away too much when we didn't need to, the same goes for Sheff United too. I was nervous about the back four especially after the first few minutes, I have read a lot of criticism of Neilsen and Mcgivern, and to be honest most of it is justified, I thought McGivern looked better at CB than FB, Neilsen is not lacking in commitment or enthusiasm there is just a lack of quality and composure. King, Fryatt and Dyer were the stars for me, Howard was good in the first half and Fryatt and Dyer seemed to feed off him, but faded towards the end of the second half, would like to see Yann tried in that role, I don't think Howard can last the 90. Disappointments were the officials, united were constantly holding and kicking and pushing our forwards and the ref did nothing until they started to throw themselves to the floor dramatically, not nice to see but I understand why. The reception for Jordan Stewart, I thought the atmosphere was good today but I was a bit disappointed that Stewart didn't get a bit of a clap or a cheer when his name was read out, and the few chants of "Leicester reject" were unnecessary. Cresswell I couldn't give a crap about, but Stewart was from our youth team and I always liked him as a player when he was with us. I was enjoying the abuse of Bunn as well, I'm not sure why he got so much stick, did something happen when he was on loan here? None the less I love to wind up the keeper. Did he give the willy puller sign to the kop in the second half? I thought I saw something and a bunch of fans were giving him shit after the final whistle. Anyway a cracking game, we still have many areas to improve, such as not giving the ball away needlessly, especially in the final moments, but then it wouldn't be Leicester if we did that.
samlcfc Posted 26 December 2009 Posted 26 December 2009 Thought we did very well today. Fryatts close control of the ball was very good and won him a penalty. Dyers running confused and pulled their players around, very hard to mark. The defence did alright considering who was playing in the second half and Weale did very well to deal with some good corners. Thought Howard had another good game, his flick ons are usually decent and are always a bit of difficulty for the opposition defence. There was some scrappy bits of play that could have been better but can only be expected really during a game and we got the 3 points so very happy with the display.
Legend_in_blue Posted 26 December 2009 Posted 26 December 2009 Great result. Better than expected performance. All in all, no complaints at all. Superb league position to be in and a good response to the two poor results which came before the Sheffield games.
Asha Posted 26 December 2009 Posted 26 December 2009 Got a lot of respect for Luke O'Neill tonight. I thought he did ok considering he was thrown right in at the deep end at half time. Some have said he looked out of his depth, which is true. But 'his depth' is not a championship quality left back up against Sheffield United, but he did very well in the circumstances. Special mention to Lloyd Dyer as well. Absolutely mesmerising.
Hitesh Posted 26 December 2009 Posted 26 December 2009 Good win from us today and I thought we deserved it despite making it hard for ourselves. Thought the defence were excellent in the first half - watching Hobbs take control was positive and he really helped Morrison and McGivern. I thought Neilson was average throughout though and an area we need to take a look at - altho he did improve during the end of the game. You could really see the impact that Hobbs had in the second half where I thought we missed his present. O'Neill did struggle when he came on but to be put under that pressure and then to concede early didn't help at all! Our midfield were awesome as well. I think Dyer really worked hard and made the difference as their defence couldn't keep a track of him and it then meant King and Wellens could pick out the holes. Oakley was a little quiet on the right in the first half but did well. Fryatt was awesome and Howard did well despite the ref not being much use! I think if Hobbs had stayed on we would have won this a lot more comfortably and been less nervous after they scored. Also, I thought Stewart was awful and can't believe he is still knocking around at this level. Blackwell didn't seem too impressed at some of his decision making!
The Doctor Posted 26 December 2009 Posted 26 December 2009 I think we are better without Brown in the side and morrison did well and looks much more composed and could have had a second goal if it wasnt tipped over by there goalkeeper, would like to see morrison keep his place with hobbs in the middle of defence even when brown is fit. not really since that save lead to the corner from which morrison scored. Cracker of a shot though. Really would have preferred neilson to go centre-back than mcGivern bearing in mind he (mcgivern) probably plays left-back because that's his best position and he doesn't look to comfortable playing there. 3 points won at the end of the day so roll on monday.
