Guest ttfn Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 From TV: Weale 6 - Looked shaky on crosses. Neilson 2 - Seemed like he was sleepwalking for the first goal, so slow was his movement. Must have given the ball away 80% of the time he had it. Brown 3 - Wank. Shit passing. Does everything Kisnorbo did, but slightly worse. Morrison 7 - Easily our best defender, seems to be the only one who knows how to pass a fooking football. McGivern 4 - Gave the ball away consistently but made the occasional decent block. Oakley 3 - Past it. He just looks 2 yards off the pace and refuses to play the ball forwards. Wellens 3 - Crap again. King 6 - Quietish game, but kept the ball reasonably well. Dyer 6 - Rarely got the ball, but when he did, looked threatening. Fryatt 6 - As Dyer Howard 6 - Good finish but was dominated by McAuley and co. subs: Kermorgant n/a Gallagher 4 - Looked more threatening than Oakley but still couldn't beat the first man. Waghorn 4 - Out of position, and didn't get involved. I still see a future for him on the left, or at least playing from the left.
Tony Pine Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 Weale 6 - Neilson 5 - Brown 3 - Morrison 7 - McGivern 5- Oakley 3 - Wellens 4 - King 5 - Dyer 6 - Fryatt 5 - Howard 7 -
lildave3 Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 GAME. Weale 7 - Pulled off one save that was top notch Neilson - 4 - Defended him mainly this season, but he was dreadful today bless him. Brown - 5 - Ridiculous on the ball, still fairly decent defender. Morrison - 7 - Best defender for us by far, and for saying I used to call him 'The Hoof' was our best distributor out of defence today. Mcgivern - 6 - A few mistakes, but had a decent second half I thought. Oakley - 6 One great tackle to stop a shot on the edge of the box, other than that can't recall him anywhere. Wellens - 5 - Not his day! Gave the ball away no end and did not look up for it at all. King - 6 - Standard King performance. Dyer - 7 - Actually looked to get at people, big fan of his these last few weeks. Howard - 7 - Did ok, struggled to start with but battled on to grab his goal. Fryatt - 6 - Some good running, but was well defended by McAuley. Gallagher - 5 - Good crossing son. Waggy - 6 - Never got going. Yann - 6 - Not long enough to judge.
martyn Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 Weale 7 - Fantastic save from McAuley flapped at 1 corner but was otherwise solid enough Neilson 2 - A harder trier one can't find, just a shame he showcased none of the technical attributes needed to be an effective right back today Brown 2 - An utter car crash. Time to cover the eyes when Wayne sets himself for a 50 yard raking crossfield ball into the East Stand. Morrison 6 - Very solid first half. Thought his performance afterwards was dragged down by the panic ensuing alongside him. Still looked the most assured defender by a distance McGivern 3 - Yes he improved last half an hour but before that, everything he went near spelled disaster. Oakley 4 - Nothing of note, although had a nice little spell for 15 minutes second half where we actually played some stuff on the deck King 5 - Nice and tidy in possession but failed to see him breaking up attacks as he does when he is at his most effective Wellens 3 - I think he's a quality player and when he plays well, we play well. Off the pace today though, summed up by a ridiculous back heeled pass when he could easily have slid Neilson in. Dyer 6 - Most potent threat first half, disappeared somewhat second half Howard 6 - Nice finish for the goal, won a fair amount in the air but was hellbent on personal glory when in dight of goal today. Dislike his attitude when getting substituted. Fryatt 5 - Looked sharp when he got the service, unfortunately, our play dictated that he fed off scraps all day. Galagher 5.5 - Our play improved when he came on but his delivery was disappointing. Still looking like a misfit, which is a shame as he has ability Waghorn 4 - Clearly lacking in sharpness. Kermo - N/A
WardyisPukka Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 Game Weale 7- some good saves especially mcauley header Neilson 1- a serious liability , Brown 6 - some nervous moments Morrison 7-growing in confidence at this level , looked assured Mcgivern 6- gives the ball away easily , but got foward alot and crossed better than neilson or gallagher Oakley 3- non existent Wellens 6- Ok , didnt do much really King 6- same as wellens although should of buried his chance in 2nd half Dyer 7- Got foward , but lacked the final pass Fryatt 6- had chances ,thought he got marked out of the game Howard 6- good finish , won a few headers Yann-n/a Waghorn 5- looked lively , should start next game Gallagher 4- cant take a free kick Pearson 6- should of brought Nguessan on , wud have given us more pace on the wing , Oakley on the wing is not working and never has so pack it in pearson !!

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 Weale - 6 - Some good saves, some panicked crosses, some woeful communication with his defence, notbaly Brown and at one point Morrison. Neilson - 4 - 'OH NO I MEANT ZERO. WORST PLAYER I'VE SEEN IN A CITY SHIRT, I'M GOING TO BURN EFFIGIES OF HIM TONIGHT. AYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. BLAH BLAH BLAH FUCKING BLAH.' People will be eating humble pie when Bob scores the screamer that wins the play-off final. Brown - 3 - Deary me. Morrison - 6 - Needs Hobbs, though he had a half decent game apart from some obvious shakiness. McGivern - 4 - Wasn't bad, wasn't great. Minus one point for not getting violent in that scuffle. Oakley - 4 - Neither here nor there. Wellens - 4 - Neither here nor there. King - 4 - Neither here nor there. Dyer - 5 - Threatened at times, there were others that I'd like to have seen taken off before him. Fryatt - 5 - Did what he could in a difficult game with little support. Howard - 6 - Not a fan of his attitude still, but scored and won his fair share. Gallagher - 2- Go bed Paul. Waghorn - 4- Offered little out of position.
Bert Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 Weale 6 - Personally I thought he could've done better with the goal, but his kicking was good and made some good saves. Neilson 2 - Utter tosh. Kerrea Gilbert please. McGivern 3 - This is what I hate about "highly rated players" you expect so much of them and they normally fail to deliver. Brown 4 - Joker. Why did he play instead of Hobbs? Morrison 7 - Come on leaps and bounds in a short space of time. Oakley 5 - Get in early or stay late, you need to practice corners. Dyer 6 - Looked threatening first half, little threat in the second. Wellens 5 - Game passed him by. King 6 - Standard. Howard 6 - Likes a moan, good finish. Fryatt 6 - Found an extra bit of pace, well shackled today though. Waghorn 5 Gallagher 5
Lillehamring Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 From TV: Weale 7 - some good saves kept us in it at 1-0, yes shaky, but so would any keeper be the way morrison and brown were playing Neilson 5 - didn't really see him do anything wrong, but offered little - needs to learn how to throw the ball flatter and harder Brown 3 - worst player on the field, a liabilty in fact, seemed to affect the whole defense as a result Morrison 4 - some standard defensive play, but an awful lot of clearances that weren't even hoofs but sliced kicks back into the danger area McGivern 6 - put in the sort of effort that apparently makes howard a god easily our best defender, wanted the ball, got involved and dealt (mostly) with the tricky peters. Oakley 5 - not a great attacking performances, but put his body on the line and showed he's still up for it Wellens 5 - King 5 - as with wellens, i didn't see him do enough coming forward, and they have to take responsibility to keep the ball on the floor Dyer 6 - tried and tried, linked well with mcgivern, easily our best crosser of the ball today, but still far too little end product Fryatt 3 - should have come off, he just wasn't involved, perhaps largely because of a lack of service from the midfield and partly because of.... Howard 6 - points for a well taken goal and one decent header, and for proving he still wants it, but hardly won a thing considering how much was sent up to him, a petulant act that could have seen him sent off and gifted macauley a free header. he has so little versatility and we need so much more. subs: Kermorgant 4 - didn't really have time to shine but clearly is a natural ballplayer Gallagher 6 - out of positon and often trying to do too much, but we finally started playing passing footy after he arrived, held the ball up well. Waghorn 5 - worked well with mcgivern and his pace was a real threat, again like the rest of the squad - no end product.
SMX11 Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 At the game: Weale: 6- Fantastic save from McAuley, flapped a few times but nothing major. Neilson: 2- Pathetic, couldn't pass all night, "long" throw rubbish & TOO SLOW. Morrison: 7- thought he had a decent game, distribution ok. Brown: 4- TOO SLOW and distribution poor, along with stupid backpasses. McGivern: 3- See Neilson & can't cross. Oakley: 5- Some decent touches but he is not a right winger, set pieces were mostly poor, not quick enough either. King: 6- Didn't see much of him. Wellens: 5- Not particulary good throughout. Dyer: 7- Only threatening person on the pitch. Fryatt: 6- Looked threatening at times, never really contributed in the second half. Howard: 7- Worked hard, won headers eventhough there was 3 people on him at times. Subs: Waghorn: 5- why on the left??? Gallagher: 5- Looked bright but delivery was poor. Kermorgant: N/A no impact in little time on. Overview: Poor performance from the back line which led to no confidence going forward. Full backs need to be replaced quickly!! neither are cut out for the CCC. Please play 2 wingers NP. You can see why we got thrashed by Forest with utter useless twats like the Albino and not-so Braveheart.
tewkesbury-fox Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 From TV: Weale 6 - Great save from Macauley kept us from being 2-1 down. Neilson 4 - Poor cant cross a ball very limited in defence Brown 5 - Lack of pace was evident. Morrison 6 - Best of the back four today McGivern 4 - Poor as with neilson . Oakley 5 - lacked cutting edge Wellens 5 - disappointing as with oakley lacked the vision King 5 -not one of his better games Dyer 6 - if he had more of the ball he looked quite dangerous. Fryatt 5 -might be harsh as the service was poor Howard 6 - did ok scored . subs: Kermorgant n/a not on long enough Gallagher 6 - Looked more threatening when he came on injected some urgency. Waghorn 5 - out of position lacked match sharpness Allthough the game lacked any quality i enjoyed watching it very up and down overall i would have taken a draw beforehand a point gained rather than 2 lost

lou Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 At Game Weale 7 - Did ok (didnt see their goal to comment on that) Made a couple of fine saves Neilson 4.5 Back to his poor old self Brown 3 - Disaster in a City shirt Morrison 6 - Best defender today McGivern 4 Not as bad as some ppl are making out Oakley 5 - shit set pieces and didnt do much Wellens 5 kept standing off his man for some reason? King 6 bit invisible, didnt do much seriously wrong though Dyer 7 the most threatening player Fryatt 5.5 didnt seem to try too hard today Howard 7 won everything in the air and scored Gallagher 6 (Needs to play up front!!) Waghorn 4.5 Didnt seen him do anything Kermo not long enough to register, sadly
MC Prussian Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 TV Weale - 7 MOTM Neilson - 3 Brown - 3 Morrison - 6 McGivern - 3 Oakley - 5 King - 5 Wellens - 4 Dyer - 6 Howard - 6 Fryatt - 5 Subs: Waghorn - 5 Gallagher - 5 Kermorgant - n/a (did not play long enough)
Finnegan Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 From the game. Weale 6 - Scares the shit out of me sometimes but makes some great stops. Needs to command his area, rarely seems to be being the authority he should over his players. Do rate him, though. Neilson 5 - Not the worst of our back four, not a great deal to do. Part of our awful distribution from the back. McGivern 4 - His worst to date. Was the first to stand up and say fair play after his stint at center back but he simply isn't ready for this league yet. Be it confidence he lacks or simply the ability we aren't going to progress with him there. Cover for Berner (and a long term replacement) needs to be found. Can't find feet, can't cross, no positional sense, poor. Brown 4 - HOOOOOOOOOOF. Morrison 7 - Easily the most secure at the back, not a season ticket holder but yet to see him put in a bad performance. Oakley 4 - Pearson's only major weakness, for me. We aren't a team with an abundance of leadership on the pitch but it's not even like Oakley offers much of that. Get a proper winger on and stop wasting N'Guessan, Adams, Gradel, Gally or whoever else. Dyer 6 - Today and against Swansea he looked increasingly ineffective as the game went on. Jaded, in need of a rest? Wellens & King 6 - Solid but average, little invention but probably spent most of the game watching the ball sail overhead. Howard 6 - Good goal but still insist he's lazy. Kermorgant ran about fifteen, twenty yards at one point to win a header; watch and learn Big Man. Still don't like the way Howard inspires us to play, not strictly his fault I freely admit, don't think he's a bad player. Want to see Waghorn or someone else back with Fryatt though. Fryatt 6 - Little to do, if we're going to play that sort of football he's not going to be loving it. Was it Jehst that made the point in another thread? Not rocket science, if he gets lump-ball service against a well clued in defence he's hadly going to shine. Subs had little impact.
Bryn Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 You can all keep pretending like it makes a difference if it makes you feel superior - I watched on TV. Weale 7 Neilson 3 - Good lord he's slow, liability today I thought McGivern 5 - Improved second half Brown 5 - Practically the playmaker today, as our fullbacks and midfield did nothing but pass it back, and he showed his weak distribution duely Morrison 6 - Best defender, still never seen him played particularly badly. Oakley 4 - Feeble, no control on midfield and poor passing Dyer 6 - Threatening when in control of the ball, tailed off towards the end, much better when he goes down the left rather than cutting inside Wellens 4 - Poor, not the midfield force I remember King 6 Fryatt 6 - Threatening when he had the ball played to him Howard 7 - Did his job, good finish and unlucky to have a header cleared off the line. Limited as a footballer but gives you everything he can. Gallagher 6 - A bigger creative influence when he came on, but a bit lightweight for me Waghorn 6 - Quick and determined, wasted on the left though Kermorgant N/A
teblin Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 Weale 7- handling was good mad a few vital punches and one awesome save Neilson 5 - need a new right back he's strong and has a good through but thats about it. Brown 5 - Not a fan, played a bit better second half Morrison 6 - thought he did ok. McGivern 4 - i think chris powel is still better than this guy, as soon as Berner is back playing the better. Oakley 5 - Always works hard but didn't really have any impact. Wellens 5 - One of the worst games i've seen him have for city, seemed to be getting very frustrated with himself and the team. King 6 - as this oakley but he gat a 6 because he doesn't give the ball away as much. Dyer 6 - Looked like he would be the one who would make something happen as he had the beating of bruce when he had the chance to un at him. Fryatt 6 - Didn't get any service but looked like he could make something happen with the scraps he got. Howard 5 - scored but starting to think he is not the answer even though i have always been a fan. subs: Kermorgant N/A Gallagher 5 - looked like he may make an impact, but then it fizzled away and his final ball was dreadfull. Waghorn 5 - didn't do anything of note.
Finnegan Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 Wasn't trying to be smug, was just stating. You actually, to be fair, obviously get a better look at almost everything if watching it on the TV so I'd say those people are - if anyone - more entitled to be specific. Don't really get much of a grasp for positioning but that's about it.
lou Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 Who said anyone felt superior? I only stated it as it was requested to at the top of the thread! Only thing I felt was fooking cold!
shen Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 FROM TV Weale 7 - One great save and a few other comfortable saves. Looked assured despite his defenders being all over the place a lot of the time. Neilson 4 - Gets stuck in and fights well, but is ultimately just a stop-gap solution. His distribution was atrocious and his panicky clearings often lead to trouble. Could have cost us a goal (partly did!) or two today because of his slow pace and inability to head a ball properly. In his defense he gets forward well, but you can question what it's worth with his crosses. Brown 4 - Walters was surprisingly inept today, which was very good for us considering how shaky Brown was. Like Neilson he never gives up, but his lack of pace and carelessness with the ball made for several nervous moments. Morrison 6 - Understandably nervy with Brown and Neilson next to him, but covered well when either of them got into trouble. His distribution was slightly better than the others, but even he made some horrible clearances and passes. McGivern 5 - Had a stinking first 30 minutes, but did OK after that. Hoofed it all day, but at least he kept the ball on the pitch most of the time, when Brown or Neilson would just hoof it out. Unlucky with the OG and looked uncomfortable for most of the game, but tried to get forward and got many blocks in Oakley 5 - Very subdued performance during the first half and I suspect NP had a word with him at halftime. Did a lot better second half, moving about a lot, which ultimately didn't lead to anything. Some below average set piece deliveries as well. Wellens 5 - Misplaced quite a few passes, with the backheel being the highlight of his performance today. Disappointing and rightly subbed. King 6 - I like this lad. He has a very good positional sense and helped break up several of Ipswich's few forays forward. Unfortunately he passes the ball back or sideways (to our defenders) which resulted in a long hoof forward or out of play. If only he could impose himself a bit more and take the initiative when those around him seem clueless when on the ball. Expected a goal when he broke through, but their player put a good block in. Dyer 6 - Big credit has to go to him for the equaliser. Ran at people today and was the only one who threatened with pace apart from Fryatt and Waghorn today. Was less efficient once we camped in their half, restricting the space in which he could run. Fryatt 6 - Was kept quiet today, but did well with the scraps he was served today. Unlucky not to score. Howard 7 - Doesn't look happy to be here at all. Fortunately, he channelled that frustration well today and cored a good goal. Don't understand why he was subbed. Lucky not to get booked for wrestling either! Subs: Gallagher 5 - Looked enthusiastic and had a spring in his step, but tried to be too clever. His woeful set pieces and crosses were highly frustrating! Waghorn 5 - Was inefficient on the left. Has pace to burn, but isn't the most technically gifted player. Struggled with crosses and simple passes again, and didn't have the desired impact. Kermorgant N/A - Did he even touch the ball after that farcical Neilson throw-in?
Guest Mee-9 Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 AT GAME Weale - 7 - Few good saves Neilson - 4 - I'm sorry but our fullbacks were awful today. Brown - 4.5 - Made me abit nervous Morrison - 6 - I'm a fan - Our new Right back. McGivern - 3 - JUST NO Oakley - 5 - Ineffective on the wing today Wellens - 4 - Dreadful King - 6.5- Another good game Dyer - 6 - Had a good go. Fryatt - 6.5 - Good game. Howard - 7 - Glad he got another goal. Gallagher - 5.5 - Why were the kids around me going mad for Gallagher, They must have a poster of him up in their bedrooms, and knock one off to him every night, they love him! Waghorn - 5 Kermorgant - N/A - Yet another game where hes done nothing. Yet people will love him.
Bryn Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 Twasn't really a specific dig at anyone (though it obviously looked like one), it's just that whenever we're on TV it's part of the thread title and it's completely unnecessary.
Donut Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 AT GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stewards- 7.550 No major incidents or stewards behaving like twonks towards people trying to get something of an atmosphere going Ball Boys & Girls- 8.55 More than played their part in a free flowing multiball system Concourse Staff- 8.25 Impressively done today, A full compliment of fluent english speakers, very prompt service, and were deserving of more other than the fact that my cornish pasty was slightly too cold and there was a noticable absence of condiments. Groundstaff- 9 A very impressive job all round to get the game on in such conditions when several premiership games were off. A fantastic effort outside the ground too to clear walkways. Very impressive work with the forks at times too when repairing rogue divots Filbert Fox- 7.19 Quiet day for filbert, although he did a top notch meet and greet outside. A little subdued inside Programme Vendors- 5 Cant speak for all of them, but took an obscene amount of time to count the change and looked at the note given to him scrubiously as if it was a fake for several minutes today. Very underwhelming Birch And Guests- 5 A boring draw with boring guests unfortunately. The health and safety brigade called of the relay, so poor marks there Bugle Player- 10 Id give him more than ten if it was possible. A top notch post horn gallop in standard tuning, note perfect, and metronome perfect. LEICESTER FANS- 7 The Frustration grew particularly in the first half, but stuck with the boys largely, and fair play for turning up in good numbers in the cold rather than watching on TV with Peter Beagrie or some other Z lister as a pundit TRACTOR BOYS- 0 Came in good numbers, but refuse to acknowledge away support. WEALE- 6.95959595 Shot stopping today was fantastic, especially from the header in the first half turned over the bar. Looked a little suspect on crosses at times though, with the odd high ball flap thrown in. There were also a couple of occasions of poor communication with defenders in playing the sweeper role. But overall, not bad. McGIVERN-6 Reasonable game. Positionally nowhere near as strong as Berner, but possesses decent delivery and a sweet left foot. Like to see him get forward a touch more BROWN- 1.8888888 Oh my god where do you begin? Lost lots of aerial ball (supposed to be a strength of his), and made to look very, very ordinary by a teenager playing up front for Ipswich. Add into the bargain that he was totally outpaced in every one on one situation and you get the picture. And i dont think he is physically capable of passing a ball to a team mate either. What an utterly diabolical player MORRISON- 7 Best defender on the pitch by a MILE today. Won plenty of aerial ball, and always looked to play it simple whenever possible, or controlled hooked balls into the channels. A very calm assured performance NEILSON- 4 Disappointing. Lacks general quality in his play, and how he managed to be so blisfully unaware of an attacking player running past him without response was baffling for the goal. Kerrea Gilbert Please OAKLEY- 3.5678967896789 I dont know whether im giving up on him, is he past it? he isnt contributing anything, defensively or offensively, and today was no different WELLENS-3 Was awful today. No contribution, passing was awful, and wasnt making his tackles either, so all in all very poor KING- 3 Not good either. Between him and Wellens, they managed to put no pressure whatsoever on Ipswich's midfield, especially in the first half, and let them play through us with total ease at times. King did his 'invisible man' act today alright. DYER- 7.12345 Was our best midfielder today by a mile, until taken off to make the shape change possible. Ran with the ball as much as possible to cause direct problems, had a couple of opportunities to deliver into the box with decent delivery, and looked to defend from the front too brilliantly. Played a big part in the goal too HOWARD 7.2 Marginally ahead of Dyer in terms of scoring the equaliser, and unlucky that his buccaneer leap in the first half didnt produce a goal as well. Took an absolute battering from their defenders as well, and didnt get any protection from the referee at all FRYATT 5.95959595 Had a quiet game today really, only really had the one effort on goal in the game which was comfortably saved by a very impressive looking Aaron Lee-Barrat GALLA- 5, WAGGY-5, KERMIT THE FROG-5, All fives, because what real impact did they make? PEARSON- 6.5 Was a bit puzzled with him today. First of all, Hobbs? Secondly, thought there was more than a touch of the Swansea's about us today in the first half. Looked to defend with bodies behind the ball, and no pressure on the ball. This gave ample opportunity to thread passes, let them play at their tempo too. Was also surprised that N'Guessan wasnt used at all today, would of thought his directness would have given us a bit more out wide in a 442. SO was a bit baffled by Pearson today. THE REFEREE- 1 And im giving him 1 and 1 only for the 1 moment in the game he actually made a good decision by allowing play to continue after the foul on Dyer for the goal. Other than that, he was pish. No control
