anyone got any tips on viewing areas at Manchester Airport?

Going to be in Manchester with the kids for a couple of days later this month and plane spotting is always a fairly well received activity, but not sure if there is good viewing at MCR?

There's a family friendly pub at the end of one of the runways at Manchester, plus a viewing park with some old aircraft parked up (including Concorde)

Loads of videos on YT from both locations

Thanks. looks pretty good.

Going to the National Football Museum in the morning and was looking for an afternoon activity - this ticks the box I think!

Check out Airliners Live on YouTube. They’ve got a great spot so that’s where I’d head.

edit - think the pub and viewing area has already been suggested above, but the Airliners Live lads are great and well worth a watch.

F35s flying up Windermere today. In fact, what I saw yesterday and thought was an F15 may have been one, had a much clearer view today

Eurofighter Typhoons AND F35s today. Busy bit of sky

Parts 2&3 if anyone cares 😅

Went for my session this evening after having it postponed a few times over the summer. Was a fantastic experience and ended up being offered the opportunity to be a member of the team as an instructor lol

Not sure what’s happening off the east coast but on flight radar there are 4 typhoons and a Voyager that’s been circling for the past 5 hours. Training I presume…TARTN28

Don’t know if you’ve been watching Top Guns: RAF on Channel 5 but it gives some good insight into how much activity there is at the moment.

I like the avgeek side of him. Just find it a shame that he sometimes ignores the city/country he's in. He landed in outer Mongolia once and didn't even have the curiosity for a day mooching about.

Plus, he's not socially confident enough to engage the crew, like Sam Chui does.

But even so, his ideas are pretty good; 80 hours around the world / world's unsafest airline / Arctic circle food runs

Yep, thought the same about Mansfield. He definitely lived in Mansfield with his Mrs (odd woman she is) and spoke with theat kinda north midlands burr....but it seems he grew up in Leicester.

Confirms himself as an LCFC fan in his latest video, chatting to a fella working at Starbucks in Almaty airport :D. And ofc Vardy gets a mention from the chap…how many multiples more people know who Jamie Vardy is than what Bristol City is I wonder

777 Heavy is an interesting doc on Amazon Prime on how they strip back the 777 (in this doc it's an Air France) and refurb and put it back together again, takes 5 weeks. Enjoyed it.

Was this the same session?

How come he had you doing circuits?
