Probably Hawks from RAF Valley. Flight Radar showed several today plus others off the NE coast

Ive done a screenshot from a video I took, hoping someone might confirm! It's not a perfect shot admittedly 🤔

Looks like an F15, probably a USAF one. Frequent vistors to Wales and the Mach loop. They often fly over Leicestershire to get there from their bases in Suffolk.

For those of you into commercial aircraft, flew on a (virtually) brand new embraer E195 with KLM this.week ... 2 X 2 configuration and an almost silent glide into the air on take off.  Lovely lil short haul plane.

Embraer are great, air france and KLM operate quite a few. Flew to Paris on one and it felt like you were in a mini space shuttle. Agreed really smooth and perfect for very short haul flights.

Never flown in a E195 yet, but flown in E145 many times and that has great performance with a very impressive take off. However, need to fly in a E195 to add to my list of flying in 68 different aircraft types.

I would say F15. I live in Hinckley and we get them overhead as they manoeuvre back to base. Usually quite low and very noisy.

We were in Norfolk a few weeks ago and there were 2 Eurofighters practising dogfights over the Wash. Wow. The noise and the sense of power of these things...

Thrilling if like me, you like aircraft.

I live in rural Norfolk and we frequently get F15’s and Eurofighters having dogfights directly overhead. Although l love aircraft the noise at times can be pretty grim. There have been complaints from our village

A bit offbeat this, but I've noticed both skyscanner and Flightradar have started referring to east mids as Nottingham east mjds again.

I emailed flightradar who temporarily changed it back but have since reverted to using Nottingham.

I simply won't use the airport if that name gets used. I'll just use Brum.

It’s weird isn’t it

Tenerife Airport (sure there’s others) call it ‘Leicestershire’

Surprised it's not been renamed as Manchester East Midlands Airport. It's majority owned by 10 Greater Manchester borough councils as part of the Manchester Airports Group after all.

That's a bit of an odd take, not sure why you would go out your way to not use an airport as flight radar refers to it as something different.

Apols, badly articulated on my part.

The point I was (badly) trying to make was that flightradar is pretty accurate. I imagine they would refer to EMA as Nottingham only if the CAA acknowledged that...and the CAA might only.do that .if the airport wanted it.

The (long winded) point being that MAG can go whistle if they are intent on changing the name incrementally. It's childish I know, but I won't use an airport with their name in it..

As an aside, i use Brum 90% of the time anyway as EMA is only of use for holiday flights

Eidt. Anyways, I've derailed the thread enough and worse still, managed to attract the dreaded high peak fox. Back to porn!

What's even more odd is that you'd actually take the time to email flightradar over this.

Fair enough it’s clearly something you are passionate about!

Anyway let’s not mudsling at other posters, for all you know High Peak Fox could be on the edge today and that comment has tipped him over.
