To be honest I can remember this being a thing of ridicule when I was at school. AIDS was already a well known condition when this was released, goodness knows who thought this was a good brand name.

AYDS was a really successful product in the Seventies but AIDS only became widely known in the early to mid Eighties.

Ah, well I'm of an age where I'd be too young to remember the ads in the 70s, so I probably only took notice from the connection all the kids made at school.
