Finchy Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 Solano's penalty = Ridiculously good As long as we keep Pearson and the superb backroom staff we have, we'll be fine next season. Onwards and upwards, what a great season we've had.
bluefox9er Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 On another note, what a heartbreaking way for Waggy to kick his last ball for Leicester City, no doubt the ****s at Sunderland will demand stupid money for him knowing that we'd never be able to afford it due to us bleeding money out of every orifice He's been a wonderful player for us and one that will be remembered for a long time im sure, i hope he goes onto great things Another point would be....how many of you are worried that this also might have been Nigel Pearsons last game in charge of the club? and how long before the rumour mill installs him as the new favourite for the job at West Ham United?......... they wouldn't TOUCH him...he's not from London. after Zola, they want a good old east end barrow boy to run the show there...but I do agree...some team will come sniffing for pearson sooner or later.
bluefox9er Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 don't wantBlackpool to win as I want that fooking imbecile **** Holloway to suffer every single bit of misery football gives him and have him have the piss taken publically out of him for every single failing...a bit like how he took the piss out of us the entire season we were so stupid to allow him to manage us...what the fook were we thinking, all it needed was a mic in that twats face and he would start spouting off utter shite. that said, i don't want a bunch of cheats like Cardiff going up either, but the matter is purely academic..WHOEVER wins the play off final WILL BE RELEGATED. simple as. staying up shouldn't be hard on paper....how difficult can it be as there is a 'mini-championship' in the premier league full of utter dog shit that really shouldn't be there like Stoke, Wolves, West Ham, West Brom, Bolton, Fulham, Sunderland, Wigan etc..all you need to do is finish above them...something neither cardiff nor blackpool can never do..but I bet we could...
Finchy Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 I don't have a problem with Blackpool going up, i'd love them to go up give their fans something to shout about. Holloway did all he could for this club he was just crap, I don't hold anything against him personally. Plus we've been cheated by Cardiff 3 times now, and their fans are absolute c*nts so i'd love Blackpool to stuff em.
Bryn Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 I think tonight was the only time I've watched Leicester in a shootout - I was a bit young for the league cup campaigns. Awful, awful awful, worse than when its England. Three fantastic pens though from Berner, Howard and Solano.
Smudge Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 We lost.......deal with it. Be proud of what those lads have done for us.
potter3 Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 Brilliant game, pity about the end. Never thought we'd go to Cardiff and score 3. Just can't believe Yann tried that, in this situation Cardiff fans were pretty damn loud too, like ourselves. Most seemed friendly enough after the game too, might have been a different story if we'd have won though.
LCFC-ARAB Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 So proud of our team amazing season There's only one Nigel Pearson On a different note I couldnt get a programme tonight so if anyone has any they want to sell i will pay a stupid amount for it!!!
BoroDaz Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 Boro fan in peace. Just like to say unlucky lads, you played very well tonight and showed heart which I could only dream of Boro showing once in a while. Was really hoping you beat those Welsh pricks but it wasn't to be. Dreadful penalty, he would have been an embarrassed player in that dressing room after the game, I know I couldn't even look at the fella after that horrific effort. Keep Nigel Pearson and you'll go far.. Good luck for next season.
Koke Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 Unbelievable, really. Absolutely unbelievable! We went down fighting though. Before tonight, not a single soul, including myself, gave us half a chance to progress to the final - but we went out there and stood toe to toe with them and fought them like the warriors we are. Cardiff and us were inseparable. Both ended with 76 points, finished neck to neck to each other, both beat each other at home in the league. Both beat each other away in the play-offs. Nothing could separate us and it had to be taken to penalties. And they held their nerves for that. It all came down to that. Such is life.
Jordan Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 I feel sick... but I'm also so fvcking proud to be a Leicester City fan--and not least because of their balls-to-the-walls effort tonight. I'm proud of all of you. It's been a weird set of circumstance that's made me become a Leicester City fan, but I swear; I'll be one until the day I die... I swear to fvck I will... and neither a missed handball call nor a bullshit penalty call on a dive+missed offside will ever change that. I love Leicester City... I will ALWAYS love Leicester City... and I can't wait until next season starts.
Tommeh Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 Just back, insane, incredible, ridiculous night. Absolutely every emotion felt but one of huge pride is shining through. My view is that a whole seaon coming down to 12 yeards out is harsh such a cruel way in such an intimerdating atmsophere Yann's tried something, it hasnt worked, unfortunatly for him it's cost us but remember that however sick we feel about it, he probably feels 25 times worse. Everyone, the players, staff, fans were amazing tonight, I fvcking love this club so much it can't be said. The hairs on the back of my neck were right up throughout the extra time bit, a slowed down "oh when the blues" did it for me. Amazing absolutely amazing. Richie Wellens, I fvcking love you the most. Warrior absolute warrior. Also...If anybody has a time machine so I can go and celebrate those 3 goals again I'd bite your hand off, alternatively a video of our end going loopy would fetch few notes too.

Totally agree with all of this, but especially the slow "oh when the blues" was incredible, I think the atmosphere amongst us was immense tonight, I fell onto the blokes in front of me after the first and after the third I jumped so high went i went to hug my mate I realised he was a fair way lower down then was expected.
Chrysalis Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 over on footballforums we gained a lot of respect after the game, people realising we can play well and that we had determination to come back into the tie. also many have given sympathies for the cardiff luck on the ref decision's, so is not just us been bitter, webb and his linesman did get noticed by neutrals as well.
buzzy Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 think steve howard had a good game last night caused them all sorts of problems. how much did we miss him in first leg . must keep howard even if bit part player for next season. and buy some one in howard mold as one of 2 strikers up front well done stevie for the season and well done to lcfc for a good season back in the championship
The Doctor Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 You know you were dirtier right? Great start with Wellens just going in two footed. He's the Paul Scholes of the Championship. as apposed to ledley smashing howard in the face with his palm, Chopra slamming hi studs into wellens face for tackling him fairly and quinn (i think) tripping berner when berner would otherwise have been through on goal since waghorn pulled the defenders away. Besides Wellens won the ball fair and square with that challenge - these lot above didn't get near it.
Finnegan Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 the casual racism is also pretty unattractive As a slight aside, not that I've made a single comment about Kermogant's nationality (Breton, by the way!) or that I particularly disagree with your point - why is it silly and wrong for people to bring his country of birth into this yet people take for granted that I'll sit and read pages and pages of "dirty Welsh bastards" this and "sheepshaging ****s" that without being slightly irked? And before anyone stops to roll their eyes, stop and think about it for a moment. I'm not making a big deal out of it but it's not exactly necessary, either.
RedHux Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 Feisty old game that and I only caught the extra time! Gutted for you but lets face it, you've had a bloody marvellous season! Onwards and upwards chaps. Automatic next year?
calum_lcfc Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 Gutted, Kermit your a mug for trying but I will have you back next season no problem. I hate to repeat everyone else but we have done so well look at the teams coming down and the teams from league 1 IF we can secure some of our loan lads and keep Pearson we will be a very strong team next year. I have never hurt so much after a football game but I still love my club, Leicester till I die!!
Guest Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 We should all be proud today. Fantastic effort all season and a truly wonderful game. Both teams showed a high skill level and if Cardiff can maintain this next season they'll finish in the top half of the prem. Feel sorry for NP and the players, it was a fantastic season but with all the movement of loan players and new loan players who knows what shape we'll be in next season. We have NP so there is great hope for success but a point here and a point there makes a lot of difference, to be so close may not happen again. Really happy for Howard who was immense yesterday after what has been a very declining season for him. Can't really see him in next season's plans but what a lot of heart he showed yesterday. Wellens - warrior, Hobbs the future. Sadly for Hobbs and Weale another season in the championship means that they'll not get international recognition as they may have in the prem. Congrats to Cardiff - great midfielders that always looked fast and dangerous, please beat hollowhead and the Cardiff supporters were probably the difference in he end - great noise (that can influence players and officials) as opposed to the sound at the Walkers last weekend.
Anish Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 Did you manage to swap your ticket in the end, or were you stuck in the Cardiff end? I bought a ticket in the Leicester end yesterday morning and then sheepishly went into the Cardiff ticket office and asked for a refund on my Cardiff ticket. It was the best decision I've made because I would not have been able to bear watching that in the Cardiff end. I think tonight was the only time I've watched Leicester in a shootout - I was a bit young for the league cup campaigns. Awful, awful awful, worse than when its England. Three fantastic pens though from Berner, Howard and Solano. Same here, I missed the FA Cup/League Cup shoot-outs under O'Neill (which we all won!) as I was too young to go to football on my own. I don't ever want to go through that again. On a side note, nobody's mentioned that yet again England loses a penalty shoot-out.
breadandcheese Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 I can only echo everyone else's comments. i'm extremely proud of the team after that performance last night. Every player came off the pitch half-dead, such was the effort. The atmosphere was fantastic and it was just a shame at the end the Cardiff fans ran onto the pitch so we couldn't show our appreciation to the players, who went off down the tunnel (bar King and Hobbs who got a chance to come over to us). Very proud.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 Im proud. What we've done this season is amazing. Probably the best season we've had since we won promotion to the Premier league. We've had ups and downs this season, but we've come through them low points with resiliance. We played very well last night, and I'm very proud to see my team peg back a cardiff side full of excellent championship players. To lose on penalties is very cruel.
Ricey Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 I'm not feeling as gutted as I thought I would today. There's no point mulling over the ifs and buts, no point wondering what would have happened if Kermogant hadn't tried the chip. I'm looking forward to next season already. Clean slate, weaker division and hopefully a stronger side. Pride is overpowering sadness currently.
