Nick. Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 I assume you are a Derby fan? Hmmm Derby County, what are they famous for? OH YES! Founders of a whole new phrase in the Oxford English Dictionary: "DOING A DERBY" How many points did you accummulate in you one sad season in the Premiership? Derby's one sad season? Urm, they've had many seasons in the Premiership, unlike your pathetic and lucky two seasons in the top flight.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 Lets just wait till its been put on the foxes website he may not even be thinking about going to Hull You'll be waiting until August for that to happen!
look_back_in_amber Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 Peter Taylor? Oh I remember what I did, I joined a Palace forum to warn them of what was to come. Amongst other things I told them that if Palace scored a goal that Taylor would have ten men behind the ball for the rest of the game, obviously I was accused of being bitter, sour grapes, etc, then they realised that I'd given a fairly accurate description of Taylor's tactics and the rest is history. The thing that I like most about this new scenario is that not one Leicester fan has said 'you're welcome to him' which fills me with optimism that we really are getting the real deal, not forgetting that as an added bonus it looks like we can finally get rid of Bob Shaw as Steve Walsh replaces him and actually does the job that he's paid for. Never mind Bob I'm sure that if Phil Brown is appointed manager of Leicester that you won't be out of work too long, as you know he LURVES his yes men!
Tommeh Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 I assume you are a Derby fan? Hmmm Derby County, what are they famous for? OH YES! Founders of a whole new phrase in the Oxford English Dictionary: "DOING A DERBY" How many points did you accummulate in you one sad season in the Premiership? Whilst I consider Derby fierce rivals, clubs with a bit of importance, history and support stick up for each other. So try harder. You guys remind me of the Plymuff mob that assembled on here when Holloway arrived.

Founders of a whole new phrase in the Oxford English Dictionary: "DOING A DERBY" How many points did you accummulate in you one sad season in the Premiership? They've also had another 63 seasons in the top flight, almost a season for every top flight point you scraped...
look_back_in_amber Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 Pretty much. I'm an extremely cool customer, I'm really that phased by stuff like this - I don't even remember being this bothered when O'Neill went, probably because at that point I didn't know what was coming. I might not even have been this bothered when we went down because at least then it'd have been coming for a while. This has just come out of nowhere and left me feeling pretty glum, really. We lucked out on Pearson. We've literally not had a stroke of luck since O'Neill left, a brief false dawn under Adams and a plummet ever since. I would say that we're a better prospect for Pearson than Hull this season, the same as all of you, especially when you consider he's already got the foundations he wants in place here. But he'll be fine without us, we won't be without him. We don't have any money, who on Earth are we going to bring in to replace him? All this talk of Mowbary is ridiculous, if we can't afford Nigel Pearson's wages how are we going to afford Tony Mowbary's? We're going to be left scraping the managerial barrel yet again. I hate to be a doom-monger, it really isn't my style, but I can see another five years of lower-mid-table mediocrity unless Mandaric really surprises us all. I hear Paul Hart is looking for a new challenge
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 Many of the posts on here make me laugh. People who thought N.P. was a god, now have shit on their faces, and will be the first ones to scream abuse at him. Nigel is a mere mortal, who is interested in what most people are. MONEY. Hull still have players equally as good as ours, and although relegated, do have Premiership experience. Nigel is just the sort of guy to take them straight back up. It has been obvious for some time now, that all is not well between M.M. and N.P., and the former does not have money to splash out, whether he wants to or not. If Nigel does go, then we are in trouble. The D.J. thing will not be sorted, Hull will possibly get a couple of our best players, and the likelihood of any decent signings for us, does not look good. Disruption now, could mean disaster, and undo all the good work of the past two seasons. However, life must go on.

marbelladave Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 Christ! Go offline for a couple of days and this happens! Spent most of the last few days with the family trying to make up for wrecking their sunday. Now this shit. Reading the runes I think it is fair to say that Pearson is gone! Even if the Hull deal falls through (unlikely), Pearson has made it clear he wants to go by talking to Hull, who, to be honest, are hardly a big step up, which really says it all Time to move on, but two things are really bugging me. Firstly, what is happening at Leicester that a decent and successful young manager is prepared to move to Hull to get out from under? Not having a go at Hull but a decent start to next season and Pearson could well be in line to step up to something much better, in the Prem most likely. Secondly, how much of the staff will be going with him? We have developed good scouting and an excellent physical conditioning regime, my worry is that we could well lose the men responsible for that as well. It is assumed that Steve Walsh will go with Pearson, any evidence of that? What about the rest of the staff? KIA, where are you?
maddog Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 I've totally missed the LCFC news this week, is Pearson actually going to Hull
samjohnson Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 Apparently, the Sun have said that Pearson is to be unveiled as Hull manager on Monday... But they are known for utter bullshit. I seriously can't see him going. It would be the same situation as Joe Mattock, except the money. Hull have none of it. I dont think he will leave with half the job finished to go for an inevitable pay cut at a team that is more than likely going to struggle because of the lack of cash in their accounts...
maddog Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 Why would he go to Hull other than to increase his wage packet What a strange decision after doing so well with us last year and building something. Crazy if he leaves, the question is why Hull is a big step down from us. Less fans, no history, all they've done is stayed up in the PL for one season. MM probably has something to do with it, perhaps he's been to stingy with NPs contract.
Shrenchel Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 The Mail reckon the compensation will be more like £400,000.

I think you're in denial mate. There are so many sources saying this is a done deal there must be something in this.
The Doctor Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 We're here to help you with your grief and to help you understand why your manager has chosen to move on to bigger and better things. explain how pearson would be moving on to bigger and better things seasons spent in division 1/premiership: Leicester - 46 Hull - 2 league titles Leicester - 7 (6 championship, 1 league 1) Hull - 3 ( 1 league 1, 2 regionalised league 1) Fa Cup Leicester - 4 finals (all runners up) Hull - 0 finals League cup Leicester - 5 finals (3 winners, 2 runners up) Hull - 0 finals Community shields Leicester - 1 Hull - 0 And despite being in the league below and the season before 2 leagues below our attendance figures have been very similar to yours. so it seems to me like we are bigger in every way.

Bet my Dad's bigger than your Dad You have history on your side, but next season games are played in the future, not the past.
martyn Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 All this "bigger club" nonsense is a complete irrelevance if NP and MM's relationship has broken down.
CosbehFox Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 Just read a Ull fans comments elsewhere reckons Radio Humberside are as bad as our outfit.
haraven Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 From reading a lot of actually quite trustworthy sources we seem to have lost Nigel Pearson to Hull. A major setback for us. I'm afraid we've just lost one of our best managers for the last 30 years.
ACF Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 Just read a Ull fans comments elsewhere reckons Radio Humberside are as bad as our outfit. We can only hope. It just worries me that its been a day, and no one has said anything about it.

Guest Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 Would be shocked if he left. Milan must realise what he has done for us. He's worth more to us than Fergie.
Mee Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 We can only hope. It just worries me that its been a day, and no one has said anything about it. Exactly, If it is rubbish, then why wouldn't we say it is. Surely NP would come out and say it's bull, like Holloway did.
Aeropars Posted 26 June 2010 Posted 26 June 2010 Like I said before, no smoke without fire and theres a lot of smoke. Normal speculation is really only happens in once source. When theres multiple sources saying the same thing (not poxy websites but printed media or TV media) there has to be some substance in it. Heres hoping Nigel just wanted to see what they had to say and decides to stick with us. Unlikely i know!
