Asian Consortium To Buy Out City

Recommended Posts

This must've been concluded weeks ago if true as it takes weeks/months to go through the books/finances

That was my question to the poster.

Something seems to be in the offing though.

There is either an awful lot of lazy journalism with us being linked to every available player in Europe and half of those in The Championship or a fair amount of money will soon be made available.

I agree and I think the latter is most probably correct.

"i do know Mandaric is here, but not alot we can do there, and he has actually taken an interest in the club"

The only interest Milan is taking is the interest on the loans he's made to Leicester City.

Has MM become schizophrenic ?

Hmmm well as most people know I want Milan Mandaric out of this club however it does worry me as to who we could end up with.

But at the end of the day doesn't matter if it happens or not cos we can't do much about it, It's unlikely we as fans will know any of the truth of what Milan has or hasn't been up to over the last few months and a takeover has gotta happen sooner or later, as I just said as fans we'll always be in the dark so I suppose we may aswell take the plunge now and keep our fingers crossed that should this be the consortium to takeover 'our' club it all goes well.

if there is money to invest in the team then great. citys academy is to be admired so maybe the consortium want to use citys blueprint to build other academies in asia.

Investing in the team will mean bringing players in from all over the place, rather than let our academy players have a chance in the first team, surely?

With all due respect to a cautious attitude knowing that English football has seen way too many negative examples of a tycoon taking control of a club, I remain open about this particular takover.

Just because we have some foreign investors lined up doesn't mean they know fudge all about football and/or how to develop/involve your own youth players.

I'm working away and have no access to the internet, except on my phone, which isn't very useful really, so it's not that easy to post. But what I can say is that this takeover picked up speed today, and that's all I can say.

So it looks like this could be happening then... the Leicester roller coaster takes another turn.

I have my blinkers on, therefore all i can currently see is takeover=investment=quality new players=promotion.

I refuse to take them off and consider any negative side to the takeover.

At least not yet, i like to live in denial.

Is it a full takeover or is it some arrangement that sees MM retained in some capacity?

I remain open too. I wasn't saying that these new owners will completely disregard the fact that we have a strong academy.

Although I do remain open about the takeover, because my first thoughts are that it will take the club forward, I am also cautious because of previous unsuccessful takeovers as you mentioned.

Guesswork, but I'd say Bert's probably answered that one...

Don't think a group of foreigners would be too interested in just dipping into a club who are losing money.

Following on from the 1st page piss takers regarding the Pearson going to Hull thread could the 1st page piss takers of this thread be wrong too?!
