Corky Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Hello to all the people in the seriously deluded thread.
Bodger Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 MON as publicly stated the only club outside of the prem he'd go to is the red dogs.
Nick Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 MON as publicly stated the only club outside of the prem he'd go to is the red dogs. Interesting first post.
Jackirius Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 I would looooooooooooove to see MON back and it would do wonders for the club but i somehow dont see that he will come. We do need an english manager with a bit of passion though.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Why do we need an English manager? Our (arguably) best manger to date wasn't English.
MPH Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 he had a demonstration against him after 11 games in charge with 1 win and mostly all draws that left us in about tenth place but we could score and when the defence tightened up we strolled into the play-offs. martin wo'nt come back, been here done that kind of thing. and yet Sousa has a better record than O'Niell did after 10 games. 4 wins 5 defeats and 1 draw , i think yet they still want Sousa out. City fans won't be happy until we win every game 5-0. Yesterday was disgraceful, no denying that and its a horrible feeling watching a game like that but another season of changing managers really doesnt fill me with joy
Edmund Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 What is the obsession on here with comparing Sousa's start with O'neill. Two completely different managers in different eras. This isn't the bible where history is going to magically repeat itself. It reeks of desperation and is quite embarrassing to be honest.
Ozwin Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 It's just clinging onto something, calm down.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Simply don't want a new manager, at this moment in time.

Have you never heard "history repeats itself", or as Mark Twain said, "history doesn't repeat itself, but it rhymes."
deepbluedevil Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 I would love it, but there is no chance
Babylon Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 MON as publicly stated the only club outside of the prem he'd go to is the red dogs. Could you post links to that, because i've never seen anything of the sort and it doesn't seem the sort of thing O'Neil would ever say. Not that he'd come back here anyway.
Jackirius Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Why do we need an English manager? Our (arguably) best manger to date wasn't English. Who?
Yojoe36 Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Its a nice thought to have Martin O'neil back., but i dought he'll be back People who are saying "its only been 8 games" ITS OUR WORST START FOR OVER 26 YEARS!!!! I cant wait to see you guys who say paulo should stay, cry, because we are still bottom come christmas with under 10 points, and being thrashed every week, with under 15,000 attendance at home. I love my club too much to see that happen!!!

This isn't the bible where history is going to magically repeat itself. It reeks of desperation and is quite embarrassing to be honest. Nobody has said Sousa is going to turn it around, nobody has said because it happened to O'Neil it's going to happen to Sousa. Different managers and eras? What's your point exactly, because Roy Keane is a different manager to O'Neil. The start of last year Ipswich went 14 games without a win under him and look where they are now. Funnily enough Swansea had a terrible start last year and it turned out not so bad for them.... Same manager, same era.... is that a good enough example for you? There are no guarantees as to what might happen, I've got concerns like everyone else, but people bring up these examples to prove to people like you that just because a manager has a bad start, doesn't mean it's then guaranteed that's how it's going to end up. If you want to write a manager off and be on his back constantly before a ball is kicked, then that is your perogative. But to me it shows the sort of person you are and puts you in a pretty bad light. Although having seen some of the deleted threads you have started in the last few months I wouldn't be surprised if you were a troll out to be purposely antagonistic. Finally, can you not see the irony in someone wanting to replace a manager after 8 games, with a manager he probably wanted out after 8 games last time? That's why the so called "obsession" was brought up again.
bluefox9er Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Sousa isn't a bad manager, but he's not the *right* manager for us. if we were to ditch him, I will guarantee you that the next guy won't improve city ON SINGLE BIT. The sad truth is, apart form King, Hobbs and Waghorn, our team is made up entirely of non-league/division 4 standard players ( including Fryatt). Simple fact is, lads..we have a team whose playing staff is made up almost exclusively of pure and utter shite that no other club would ever want.

Finally, can you not see the irony in someone wanting to replace a manager after 8 games, with a manager he probably wanted out after 8 games last time? That's why the so called "obsession" was brought up again. The mere fact that O'neil's reign is brought up suggests to me that people think Sousa is going to turn it around in the same way O'neil did, you've only got to see the post directly below from Ozwin to see that's the case. Although it's more hope than anything. My point about different eras and different managers is it's silly to draw comparisons as it's impossible to compare the situations. Different players, different tactics, different everything. The fact that you're now bringing Keane into the equation proves my point. What's next, Alex Fergusons bad start at Man United? If we wanted to to do all these silly comparisons, for every manager whose been relatively successful after a bad start, there's just as many managers who've gone on to fuck up. Why are we not using these comparisons? The reason is because it's only coming from a bunch of people on here who are insecure about the present situation and are to stubborn to realise that the club is sinking under Sousa and quickly. It doesn't prove anything and like I've said before I can name twice as many managers who've gone onto fuck up just like Sousa is doing, but I'm realistic and concentrate on reality not silly fantasist comparisons. It seems I've touched a nerve with you and you can't seem to accept my point of view but that's your problem not mine. Unfortunately the ironies lost on me, if you're happy to give a manger who's proud of his players when they get hammered 6-1 more time then God save us all.
Chrysalis Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 8 games is a long time in football, however I still cant believe we have people posting thinking sousa can turn it around. We are cannon fodder under sousa, how many games in those 8 league games have we been 3-0 or more down? How many games have we scored first? How many goals have the strikers scored?
Edmund Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 How many goals have the strikers scored? 1 I believe
m00nie Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 well at leasts its easy to see why all these transfer request/sold/loss of dressing room etc crazy rumours surface and escalate when people put 2 + 2 together and make 3 when these same people are even beginning to think that MON would return and be the answer...
Guest Mee-9 Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 O'Neill would only come back if he was given a big pot of money to spend.
