Jackirius Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 I don't believe he'll come back but .........: http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Martin-O-Neill-is-being-targeted-for-a-shock-return-as-Leicester-City-boss-in-place-of-Paulo-Sousa-article589679.html O'Neill targeted for sensational Leicester return Published 23:00 27/09/10 By Football Spy Martin O'Neill has been targeted for a sensational return to Leicester – as Paulo Sousa fights to save his job. The Foxes’ Thai owners have launched a mega-ambitious move to bring O’Neill back, more than a decade after he left for Celtic. O’Neill is desperate to return to management after leaving Aston Villa. SHIT ME! THE MIRROR! It must be true.
Ozwin Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 I think there's a huge amount that would love to see him come back, but about 0.01% of them genuinely believe it could happen at this moment in time. And frankly, they're clearly barking. We're all bloody barking sticking with this club for so long.
Jackirius Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 We're all bloody barking sticking with this club for so long. Ill tell you whats Barking. A dog

I doubt he is that desperate!
Jimothy Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 Anyone else think someone at the Mirror reads these boards then just prints the thing most likely to piss us all off or excite us.
maddog Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 Well theres obviously a chance if he's still without a club if Sousa goes or gets sacked. But theres a chance i will hit four holes in one tomorrow, that being in golfing terms and an euphemism. It really aint going to happen.
Shipman Out Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 Superb the mirror gets a sniff of the "if only carlsberg" did text messages thing and ran with it as a story That annoying make stuff up journalist geezer from the wire has just started his new Job on the Mirrors sport desk

STUHILL Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 Just can't see this happening! Would be shock of the decade!!! Doesn't he live near Burton or something though?? Could be short commute each day!!!
Jordan Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 Wrong team. O'Neill is going to Liverpool when they sack Hodgson this weekend Can't we just cut all the shit already and just make Chris Powell the manager? Perhaps name him chairman, too?
Chrysalis Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 Really? Honestly? Seriously? :crylaugh: On what basis? very unlikely but I wouldnt say impossible, however I expect the salary for him would have to be huge and he would want a big transfer budget.
Asha Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 I'd hate to see O'Neill back. Despite everything he did for us, if he came back and didn't get us promoted at the first attempt the fans would inevitably forget about where he took us and "want him out".
phillthefox Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 todays daily mail has piece saying the new thai owners will move for o'neill as replacement for sousa. that means must be true then

Kilworthfox Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 This REALLY is not going to happen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its pointless wishing it would! If it somehow did I would bejizzle in my pants on the spot, but it won't. O'Neill is not the same manager now who left us 10 years ago, he wants a top flight job & the cash to go further than he has before with any of his previous clubs! He will want a top 4/6 job not Leicester even with our improved state. If he comes here the expectation would be so high to replicate what he did before, I find that task vertually impossible in todays football.
Stevosevic Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 I am surprised papers are allowed to print articles like this.
foxoffderby Posted 28 September 2010 Posted 28 September 2010 Just heard on Talksport news Leicester do want MON as the their next manager. Was driving at the time nearly went through a red light!!
