StanSP Posted 30 September 2010 Posted 30 September 2010 So its sousa's fault Morrison couldn't judge a bouncing ball against palace, or got turned inside out by Makie? Sousa's fault that Morrison thinks he is a goalkeeper, or is Incapable of passing a ball instead lets Kitson take it off his toe? I think the defence are an absolute shamble's i mean conceding 4 against Norwich and Six against Pompey is the defences fault, i take back my views of Hobbs being one of the best defenders in the league, he is looking really poor at the moment i've seen him have two good games against Boro and Cardiff, people ringing in and saying should have started Hobbs from the start against Pompey? Didn't he come on at 2-0? and it ended up 6-1? The defence needs to be sured up big time, Get Walshy and Matty Elliot to show them how its done! ' You say that you can't pin the blame on one person (Sousa for defence's mistakes) and then go and do exactly the same for Hobbs. The whole team was shit against Pompey, not just the defence. And hey, at least we scored when Hobbs came on
Callabinho Posted 30 September 2010 Posted 30 September 2010 At the moment Nielsons name should be the first name out the bag. In terms of noticable contributions on match day, and taking into consideration the howlers the rest of our defence has had, Nielsons been our best defender. I can't believe i've just said that... but it's true How can you say that, he was back to his gash ways against QPR and onwards.

StanSP Posted 30 September 2010 Posted 30 September 2010 was just trying to say, whats the point in blaming Sousa for the defence when both Morrisons and Hobbs's form is off at the moment, i think we lost out on Zayatte, we need someone else in the center Morrison is not good enough. I'm not blaming Sousa mate Well, not for some of the defence's recent incompetence anyway. The team just seem bereft of confidence. This is partly by having the mentality of EVERYTHING going against them - penalty decisions, disallowed goals, red cards etc - the best thing they can do is just pull through it and keep plugging away. The results will come - they're bound to. In regards to signing a new player, it shows that Sousa is becoming a bit desperate - Rosenior has been on a free since July (?). Not long I know but is there a reason why another club hasn't swooped for him? There's no guarantee that he will be the saviour of all our troubles. THen again, there's no guarantee that he'll be worse than how we are now. If he signs, he signs - it's out of our control and it's the management's decision.
Bert Posted 30 September 2010 Posted 30 September 2010 We may have scored when Hobbs was on, but we let four in too....
StanSP Posted 30 September 2010 Posted 30 September 2010 We may have scored when Hobbs was on, but we let four in too.... Tongue-in-cheek.
bettso Posted 30 September 2010 Posted 30 September 2010 We may have scored when Hobbs was on, but we let four in too.... So is Rosenior signing Bert?
davieG Posted 30 September 2010 Posted 30 September 2010 So is Rosenior signing Bert? Rosenior's a manager - where?
foxoffderby Posted 30 September 2010 Posted 30 September 2010 How many right backs is that now? Morrison Neilson Lamey O'Neil and now Rosenior. Reminds me of the Martin Allen/Megson regime. The problem we have is at centre back and centre midfield.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 30 September 2010 Posted 30 September 2010 Why let Sousa sign somebody else at the moment? Seems foolish if he is going to get the boot in the near future. Perhaps this may be an indication that he may be around for a while yet....
MrSpaM Posted 30 September 2010 Posted 30 September 2010 How can you say that, he was back to his gash ways against QPR and onwards. He's the only defender in our squad who's shown any progression this season, and the only one who's had any praise off the fans. He's taken a step forward, whereas the rest of our defence seems to have taken 50 steps back. It's alright saying he's been gash since QPR, but the rest of them have been gash since the season started.
FrankieADZ Posted 30 September 2010 Posted 30 September 2010 Cant do any worse than blooming Lamey, he's sodding useless altho Robbie hasnt done too bad so far
muzzy1981 Posted 30 September 2010 Posted 30 September 2010 I'd play Vitor and Hobbs as CBs they should complement each other because hobbs is good in the air and Vitor has the pace. Morrison and Hobbs as a combination are too clunky. Everyone keeps banging on a bout Shittu because of his experience, maybe ok as a squad player but Hobbs plays like an experienced CB so I don't see the need. Neilson for me is a no no, whether you like it or not the style Sousa plays does not suit players like Neilson and Berner, they have poor first touches and can't play it on the floor. Although saying that I would play bruno, even though Kennedy has potential I think we need to bring back some familariaty to the defence, my line up at the back for Sat would be: Morrison...............Vitor...............Hobbs...................Berner At least three off the four played a lot last season. But I guess he'll go and stick another inexperienced player, in Rosenior. This should have been all sorted Pre-season!

Ricey Posted 30 September 2010 Posted 30 September 2010 Can't see the point in this, he is no better than Neilson or Lamey. Is Vitor suspended for 1 game or 3?
MrSpaM Posted 30 September 2010 Posted 30 September 2010 Can't see the point in this, he is no better than Neilson or Lamey. Is Vitor suspended for 1 game or 3? Anybody know how long Fryatts out for too? take it it's 3 games?
bettso Posted 30 September 2010 Posted 30 September 2010 Can't see the point in this, he is no better than Neilson or Lamey. Is Vitor suspended for 1 game or 3? Just one game apparantly. Back in the squad for Saturday.
hackneyfox Posted 30 September 2010 Posted 30 September 2010 Just one game apparantly. Back in the squad for Saturday. Thank goodness for that A goalie Rosenior Vitor Hobbs A left back Dyer Morino Abe King Waghorn Howard
Ric Flair Posted 30 September 2010 Posted 30 September 2010 Didn't we nearly sign him in the summer but chose Lamey instead? Now Lamey has proven to be guff, we're now going for his sloppy seconds? Brilliant then, what an astute piece of business.
Fox92 Posted 30 September 2010 Posted 30 September 2010 I'd probably take him, don't rate any of our full backs.
StanSP Posted 30 September 2010 Posted 30 September 2010 Vitor's was straight red, therefore 3 match ban.
escos Posted 30 September 2010 Posted 30 September 2010 Vitor was denying a goal scoring opportunity so is a one game ban Fryatts was violent conduct so is three games.
Wymsey Posted 30 September 2010 Posted 30 September 2010 whih one of you is right regarding Vitor's length of suspension
