Wymsey Posted 4 November 2010 Posted 4 November 2010 That's a no-no for me sadly. We need players who know the Championship well, not play in front of 5,000-6,000 fans.
The Doctor Posted 4 November 2010 Posted 4 November 2010 That's a no-no for me sadly. We need players who know the Championship well, not play in front of 5,000-6,000 fans. so if it was a couple of decades ago and we were linked with ian wright while he was a conference player you'd turn him down due to a lack of championship experience.
conradno1 Posted 4 November 2010 Posted 4 November 2010 That's a no-no for me sadly. We need players who know the Championship well, not play in front of 5,000-6,000 fans. every one has to startt somewhere
Wymsey Posted 4 November 2010 Posted 4 November 2010 Guys we been linked with too many players who are i say decent, reading this makes me worry that the team will get unsettled if they hear Sven is interested in a footballer from League 2..
ajthefox Posted 4 November 2010 Posted 4 November 2010 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1326747/Sven-Goran-Eriksson-goes-head-head-Nottingham-Forest-barber-Steve-Williams.html?ito=feeds-newsxml Can't say I've really heard of him, but I'm taking this with a pinch of salt bearing in mind how many players we've been linked with and even more so the contents of that particular article, which is almost zero.
MPH Posted 4 November 2010 Posted 4 November 2010 Never heard of him. However at this stage Sven has not made a bad signing YET so he gets my support on all his signings. Good enough for Sven is good enough for me should this happen.
Ozwin Posted 4 November 2010 Posted 4 November 2010 Getting a bit sick of being linked with every bleeder on the planet. I thought I'd like it but it's pretty annoying.
CosbehFox Posted 4 November 2010 Posted 4 November 2010 Watched him myself albeit one game. A centre-half very much in the mould of Rio Ferdinand ie. pacy, athletic but prone to concentration mistakes. Not exactly what we need at the minute.
Kitchandro Posted 4 November 2010 Posted 4 November 2010 Getting a bit sick of being linked with every bleeder on the planet. I thought I'd like it but it's pretty annoying. Me too. Don't care about anymore signings, lets just try and gel the players we've got and concentrate on the next game
Onions Posted 5 November 2010 Posted 5 November 2010 That's a no-no for me sadly. We need players who know the Championship well, not play in front of 5,000-6,000 fans. Jesus fooking Christ. This is like the Logic by the British Media surrounding joe Hart at the World cup. it went; he can't play in the World Cup without the experience, however he won't get the experience without playing in the world cup, oh I love paradoxes.
Daveaway Posted 5 November 2010 Posted 5 November 2010 We are a club with money, of course every player will be linked, I guess this will be the agents trying to get a better price, for their player if he is linked to other clubs.
Bantam Posted 5 November 2010 Posted 5 November 2010 Watched him myself albeit one game. A centre-half very much in the mould of Rio Ferdinand ie. pacy, athletic but prone to concentration mistakes. Not exactly what we need at the minute. That is pretty much spot on.......he was "plucked" from non league Bamber Bridge towards the end of last season, and impressed in the run in. Signed an extended 3 year contract at the start of this season, and seems to have really come into form lately. Is excellent on the ball, brings it out of defence very well, strong and pacy, but is liable to switch off every now and again. He is still learning though. His current form is bound to attract interest, but it would be a mistake all round for him to move on without establishing himself first. There are no references in the story, so its probably a load of cr*p. Oh and FWIW, he doesn't play infront of 5k - 6k every week, it was 12.5k on Saturday.
Ashley Posted 5 November 2010 Posted 5 November 2010 That's a no-no for me sadly. We need players who know the Championship well, not play in front of 5,000-6,000 fans. Morrison played infront of 1000 or so fans at cambridge, he made the step up. I know he hasn't been great this season but still. Have some faith.
hackneyfox Posted 5 November 2010 Posted 5 November 2010 Me too. Don't care about anymore signings, lets just try and gel the players we've got and concentrate on the next game We need many more signings and then get them to gel. The current squad will not get us into the play-offs.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 5 November 2010 Posted 5 November 2010 He cuts hair aswell, added bonus!!! I'm saddened that more people haven't picked up on this vital fact. It's a squad game but if you're not in the first 11 you shouldn't just be sitting around on your arse, you should be doing something useful, like cleaning the windows or making cakes. I don't think it's any coincidence that Stuart Pearce, who has enjoyed a long club, international and coaching career was an electrician and plumber before becoming a success in the game. Light fitting gone in the changing room? The shitter's blocked? Psycho'll sort it. This no doubt secured him the England U21 job. Phil Gee was a painter and decorator. Need I say more? Nigel Pearson was allowed to leave City when Milan discovered he can't even wire a plug properly
sdb Posted 5 November 2010 Posted 5 November 2010 That's a no-no for me sadly. We need players who know the Championship well, not play in front of 5,000-6,000 fans. completely flawed argument.
unreachable Posted 5 November 2010 Posted 5 November 2010 He cuts hair aswell, added bonus!!! The Original Fosse Boys look rather frightened at the prospect.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 5 November 2010 Posted 5 November 2010 so if it was a couple of decades ago and we were linked with ian wright while he was a conference player you'd turn him down due to a lack of championship experience. Large Al - Wrighty was alive and kicking with Crystal Palace in the old Second Division twenty years ago. However, you're correct in that he did come from Greenwich.
Babylon Posted 6 November 2010 Posted 6 November 2010 Guys we been linked with too many players who are i say decent, reading this makes me worry that the team will get unsettled if they hear Sven is interested in a footballer from League 2.. What a crock of s@&£e... The team will get unsettled because he's from league 2? You really think what league he's from makes any difference to how settled they are? To rule out players because they are from lower leagues is complete madness.
Narborough_fox Posted 6 November 2010 Posted 6 November 2010 Michael Morrison was from the confrence aand he's doing a very good job.
DB11 Posted 6 November 2010 Posted 6 November 2010 That's a no-no for me sadly. We need players who know the Championship well, not play in front of 5,000-6,000 fans. Michael Morrison.
Leicfox Posted 6 November 2010 Posted 6 November 2010 Centre backs with the pace of Williams are rare and in demand at any level. Would be a good signing imo. Bradford fans view..... The lad has all the attributes to be a defender at the highest level. He's quick, comfortable on the ball, tall, capable against physical strikers too. He's a little raw at times but that comes with experience and coaching. He's only been a pro for 18 months and he's clearly developed during that time. Under PT, i think he's come on considerably.
