stivesfox Posted 29 December 2010 Posted 29 December 2010 Tweeted Jason Roberts his answer to coming to Leicester a categoric NO!!! Wonder how many others be giving the same reply when Sven calls!
teblin Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 Sonko, "if in doubt boot it out" type of centre back we need.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 I know it sucks. Agree with the dyer bit. Charlie Austin or Adam Le Fondre maybe? We went for Le Fondre once, swear we did, or we were linked.
muzzy1981 Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 Gudjohnson, he's a scandi so perhaps Sven could do his thing! http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-News-Eidur-Gudjohnsen-wants-to-end-his-contract-at-Stoke-City-article659945.html
Gazza M Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 I think that the squad needs to change but I would go for a more gradual approach to this change in-line with it being ready for the start of next season. The first thing I would do is tell Chris Weale that he is first choice. Play him for the rest of the season. The second thing I would do is tell Jack Hobbs he is going to play at centre half every match for the rest of the season. Make Richie Wellens club captain. I would then sign: Kyle Naughton (what ever fee is required) Greg Cunningham (On-loan for the rest of the season) I would then look for a centre half (to partner Hobbs) who is going to head and kick the ball for fun and rough a few people up. E.G: Shaun Barker (Derby) Danny Shittu (Millwall) Alex Baptiste (Blackpool) At the other end we need a striker, especially with Fryatt going and Bednar being shite. I would go for: Danny Graham (What ever fee is required)
Leicester-Fox Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 I think Kevin Phillips would be an excellent signing. He would solve our goal scoring problems, he must have a 1 in 2 or 3 strike rate when he's played in the Championship. James Vaughan and Phillips would be a great attack. Then an experience Centre Back., Plus a creative midfielder. Sign Naughton and Cunningham, and don't sell Berner.
clarkeylcfc Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 Whats happening with bernard parker now he looked like he could do a decent job up front
Bettsj2 Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 We need to spend more than £12m. The only way we're going to get up the league and out of it is to buy our way out. Enough of this building a team bullshit. Buy a keeper, 2 centre backs, 2 midfielders and as many strikers as you can get your hands on that will come and compete for a place. SPEND FRENZEH

David Guiza Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 QPR have managed to walk this division, so far, without spending massive. They have spent reasnobally big but not massive and it's all been in the right areas because Warnock knows this division better then most. I just hope Sven does the same and doesn't spend money for the sake of spending money.
nickelbyfox Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 Surely Ambrose and Danns from Palace would be worth a shot. Both quality players and used to the rigors of the championship
Fox92 Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 If I was Sven I would have asked for money and Peter Halmosi from Hull for Fryatt. Halmosi can beat any player on his day in this division, has a great end product, scores goals and can take good set pieces. I'm sure he doesn't play first team football at Hull. Also, a striker as mentioned before; Charlie Austin from Swindon. He's good in the air and scores for fun for Swindon, I'd take a gamble on him, just like Millwall did with Morison who obviously came from non league.
Stevosevic Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 Surely Ambrose and Danns from Palace would be worth a shot. Both quality players and used to the rigors of the championship I would be surprised if we couldn't tempt Ambrose away, i think he could be on Sven's radar.

I think we could go for Austin and do our danmnest to also obtain Ambrose and Kevin Phillips. I'd snap up Jamie O'Hara from Spurs on loan and try to obtain Liam Lawrence for a creative midfield birth. At the back, somebody with experience and can shout/encourage is paramount - not sure who though.
One Arm Babba Posted 30 December 2010 Posted 30 December 2010 Just had a quick look on BBC and saw that Tony Mowbrary might be looking to offload David Wheater in the January window. A good solution at centre back id say Aye, and he can play bingo in Loughborough, which according to my Grandma is the bomb! best mushy peas in town! No better than what we've got, we need a younger Wayne Brown, a lump that will kick the ball, you or both.
JoeS Posted 31 December 2010 Posted 31 December 2010 Going on my FIFA expertise, Kakuta , chelsea 6 million, big potential, good final ball Recall Ashley Chambers - pace Also, kuszack, daniel sturridge, naughton, Jack Wilshere season loan Destroying the 12 mill budget but oh well
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 31 December 2010 Posted 31 December 2010 Juan Sebastian Veron and Hernan Crespo. And this guy: Wouldn't mind Emilio Izaguirre from Celtic either, quality little player. Derek Riordan from Hibs too although he always gets a mention from me.

Ozwin Posted 31 December 2010 Posted 31 December 2010 Ashley Williams Matt Kilgallon Richie De Laet Peter Halmosi Ben Watson Someone Mexican, I want to wear a sombrero Dan Gosling Danny Graham Edit: Oh yeah and that midfielder from Watford who always scores. Edit 2: Wes Hoolahan too
Jakemoore Posted 31 December 2010 Posted 31 December 2010 theres a few we can go for, him , kushack , myhill , brad jones and westwood would all be good Myhill joined Westbrom because he didn't wanna drop down a level, so as good a signing as he would be it wouldn't happen.
Ozwin Posted 31 December 2010 Posted 31 December 2010 If we get Brad Jones I will have a bath with a toaster.
tomtom Posted 31 December 2010 Posted 31 December 2010 Richard Dunne from villa, more likely on loan but make an offer! We're crying out for an experienced, hard man centre half, and he would have a massive effect on the team!
