A lot of people in here being very unrealistic.

Michael Tonge has returned to Stoke after a loan spell at Preston, always thought he was a good player and could add some aggression to our side.

Also, Michael Brown is available from Portsmouth. They won't play him again because it triggers a clause in his contract that they cannot afford. He's a dirty bastard but he would be our dirty bastard.

Federico Macheda on loan from man u till end of season

Federico Macheda's agent thinks there are no less than four Serie A clubs looking to sign the Manchester United starlet on loan in January.

Sir Alex Ferguson has given the 19-year-old the green light to leave after seeing the likes of Danny Welbeck and Mame Biram Diouf thrive elsewhere.

Macheda has made just seven Premier League appearances this term and the Red Devils boss believes he will now benefit from regular football.

Macheda's agent Giovanni Bia insists there is nothing concrete in the pipeline just yet, although there are a number of clubs interested in his services.

Clubs

"I can say that Inter, Juventus, Fiorentina and Lazio are all clubs that potentially could take the player, but so far there's only speculation, nothing concrete," he told tuttomercatoweb.

"Now that Sir Alex Ferguson has given his okay for an eventual departure, we'll see what happens.

"I returned to Italy on Wednesday and I'm just working on finding a solution. There is plenty of time before the market closes."

I see Tamir Cohen's name also being thrown around alot.

Valencia and numerous Italian clubs after him apparently, only advantage we have is the short (and relatively unsuccessful) time Sven will have spent with him at Mexico.

I think that the squad needs to change but I would go for a more gradual approach to this change in-line with it being ready for the start of next season.

The first thing I would do is tell Chris Weale that he is first choice. Play him for the rest of the season.

The second thing I would do is tell Jack Hobbs he is going to play at centre half every match for the rest of the season.

Make Richie Wellens club captain.

I would then sign:

Kyle Naughton (what ever fee is required)

Greg Cunningham (On-loan for the rest of the season)

I would then look for a centre half (to partner Hobbs) who is going to head and kick the ball for fun and rough a few people up. E.G:

Shaun Barker (Derby)

Danny Shittu (Millwall)

Alex Baptiste (Blackpool)

At the other end we need a striker, especially with Fryatt going and Bednar being shite. I would go for:

Danny Graham (What ever fee is required)

Good post, I agree with most of your points.

1. Wellens should be made captain, he's always in the team and is obviously one of the louder more opinionated players.

2. Too many changes will dent the teams moral and not improve results.

3. While I'm not giving up on this season just yet, I agree that the team should be rebuilt ready for a promotion push next season.

4. Weale and Hobbs are obviously confidence players and unless we can replace them permanently with better players

that are fit then Sven needs to quickly let them know they are part of his plans.

If Davies is not staying then we will need another C.B, Mills at Reading springs to mind.

In midfield Kebe or Hamill would improve what we have.

The priority however has to be a striker, preferably one who can play up front on his own if required.

Danny Graham or Maynard (who should soon be fit) would be ideal.

Juan Sebastian Veron and Hernan Crespo.

And this guy:

Wouldn't mind Emilio Izaguirre from Celtic either, quality little player. Derek Riordan from Hibs too although he always gets a mention from me.

I just want January to be over as soon as possible so I can update my FIFA 11 and start a career mode. No point starting now as line-ups ever changing!

Arsene Wenger has said he is prepared to let Carols Vela out on loan? Worth a punt?

Source is on SSN website.

Knows him from Mexico job too. ;)

Lavezzi, in fact half the Napoli team, and while we're at it bring along their tactics, manager and whole team ethic.....

If Davies is recalled by Villa to be sold to Blackburn I'd go for Sol Campbell, he's the experienced player that Hobbs need to play alongside.

Newcastle are reportedly open to offers this window

Other than that I favour Championship players over loan signings, premier league bench warmers & celebrity, has-beens who IMO don't have the mental attitude to perform well in this division

Just wondering were Shevchenko is playing at the minuet. I kown hes 33/34 but would be good in this league to get some goals. Thoughts ? :santa:

Back in Ukraine with Dynamo Kiev which is where he first started so can't imagine for a second he'd want to leave. Also he seemed to struggle with the pace of the English game three years ago so would be nowhere as good as you'd think even at this level.

Somebody on RL suggested Patrick Viera. That's not a bad shout, marquee signing for the owners and a bit of leadership in midfield.

I liked the Danny Graham suggestion as well. Am I right in thinking that Watford are a bit strapped for cash? If so, it might be worth putting in a cheeky bid.

I don't understand why everyone wants these over the hill players, we need players who know this division because it's hard as hell to get out of. I saw that Chaplow left for Southampton the other day for a measly 50k, that's a ****ing steal for someone who'd be a more than decent squad player for us.

I've said it before, if we got someone like Danny Graham from Watford we'd be laughing, he's exactly what we need and knows this division. It's like Henderson from QPR too, seems like he's been around forever and always pops up on the top scorers chart.

There's no point going for players who have never played in this division or are after their last pay packet, we want fighters for the cause.
