I think you can make an anonymous referral to the child safeguarding teams at the local authority.

I'd be wary of direct contact with the neighbour. As @StanSPsaid it could take an unexpected turn. It's generally best to pass it on to those that have the experience and "power" to intervene.

Childline is still a way of anonymously reporting things such as you are experiencing. It's not just for kids.

Thank you. I'll take on both of yours advice. I just don't like the idea of going behind people's backs but I understand that it's probably the most sensible option

I read your original post and obviously thought it was absolutely horrendous.

My Mrs is a social worker (not one that can be called a child snatcher, yeah, some people still say that)

There's always a duty of care there to report something. Report it.

It'll be investigated. If it's detrimental to a child, you could change their whole life for the better by doing it now.

Given that creosote is no longer available to the general public, what is the best alternative product to treat an old shed that needs the wood sealing?

Have used Ducksback and other similar products over the years, but they seem to weather away over time.

Creosote used to last for years when my dad used it on the fences. Now nothing seems comparable.

I looked for something similar a couple of months ago and came across Wickes Creocote. I think its available in light or dark and it does smell like Creosote as you remember. It has really good reviews and i used it to treat a base for a summerhouse so hopefully it is as good as people say. It is quite thin and i put 3-4 coats on but if it is going to help preserve the life of the wood im sure its worth it

Has anyone with an Octopus smart meter had any issues with their readings and billing? For the 2 years we have had it, the monthly cost shown on the meter and the actual bill have been pretty similar. The past 2 months the meter and bill have been around £40/50 different. Not in our favour, obviously!

Octopus have said the meter cost is only to give a rough idea of consumption.

Anyone else noticed a sudden disparity?

Bit of a weird one...

Anyone ever had full jaw tooth implants or veneers or any major work done to fix their teeth?

I've always hated my teeth, they're awful, I never smile for photos and I'm quite paranoid about them, although I'm probably making it sound worse than they are.

I broke a tooth the other day and it's basically gone. I think the time is right to finally fix my smile.

I'm looking for places to get a consultation, but it seems like a complete minefield.

Looks to be about 18k for a complete set of implants, something that I genuinely would consider.

Just after a bit of advice if anyone else has done something similar.

No, I'm not considering Turkey and no, I'm not asking for teeth as bright as Rylan lol

Why do some people call lunch dinner and then dinner tea.

The proles:

“High” tea combined snacks and a hearty meal and was usually served at about 6pm. This eventually evolved into the lower classes calling their midday meal “dinner” and their evening meal “tea”, while the upper classes called their midday meal “lunch” and referred to the evening meal as “dinner”.

Does anyone know if you can pay for parking on card at the Glenfield hospital or is it cash only? Thanks in advance!

I use just park pretty whenever I have to leave the car anywhere. Much cheaper than cars parked normally and I feel more secure leaving my car on someone's driveway.

I've used YourParkingSpace.com quite a lot. Definitely read the reviews of each space but I've found that it's very competitively priced parking for busy areas. Used it on Saturday, £4 to park at the squash club while at Kasabian. And just used it to book for Fulham away. £10 for the day on someone's drive.

I'd recommend JustPark especially for street parking. Takes all the hassle out of it

I hav visions of someone driving up and down streets wearing an LCFC shirt that’s too small, looking for an empty driveway to pull into.

Anyone know any decent driving instructors south Leicester? Need someone who can take my son out in the evenings as he works. The few I've spoken to finish at 6. Thanks in advance!

Good luck with that. Not the same area but my daughters boyfriend has been trying to get one for the past 6 months or more. He works in a school and like you say very few seem to want to do outside of office hours or over the weekend. You would think the vast majority of people wanting to learn to drive are working so instructors would work around this. He did get one arranged for a 3:30pm start but the day before his 1st lesson the instructor contacted him to say she had a problem with her car and needed to cancel.  A couple of days later she got in touch with him again to say she had given that slot somebody else!!! Very frustating

Didn't realise it was such a git to get an instructor. I passed 20+ years ago and with my line of work I sometimes didn't get home until around 7-9 pm but my instructor used to cover them hours. They just dont want it anymore 😂

Forgive the ignorance, but it may be different here in the US

Are you not allowed to provide the driving instructions?

For my daughter, she had to do classroom time but I taught her the actual driving - I didn’t want to, but she put it off so long that the school I paid would no longer take her driving.

All I had to do was fill out a form at the DPS (driver license place) attesting to the fact that I spent x number of hours driving with her.
