Bryn Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 Loan to buy sounds like a good deal to me, if he is an injury prone **** we don't make it permanent, and I reckon we can afford him in the short term. Happy
Christoph Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 I agree with Kitchandro, while everythign is fine i'd rather we just got a good little run going with him coming on as sub for abit. Still think we should play 4-3-3 though as abe king and wellens all need to be on the pitch imo.
nickelbyfox Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 There is no way he should walk straight into the side now. We have to keep a settled side and we're unbeaten in the last 3. We played fantastically against man City and we have to take that confidence into the next game. It will be hampered if we keep changing it around. The front 3 of Dyer-vassell-Gallagher has worked everytime it's been used, and all 3 are playing well. So despite his quality Yakubu should have to wait his turn. You really think they've made all this effort for him to sit on the bench? While I agree with what your saying, pretty sure he will start Saturday
sdb Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 Someone on here claimed Naughton may be going to QPR the other day (before loan was tied up). I looked at a forum of theirs and whilst there was no mention of that, they were taking the piss out us for the idea that we could get Yakubu. Humiliating for them.
Kitchandro Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 You really think they've made all this effort for him to sit on the bench? While I agree with what your saying, pretty sure he will start Saturday Maybe you're right, that sends out a piss poor message though. Who are they going to drop?
Kent Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 My first thought is Sven's preferred formation of 4-4-2 with Yak and Vassell upfront, the dilemma would be who plays in midfield though.
Micky Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 weale naughton hobbs bamba berner abe wellens king gallagher vassell yakubu
tylesta Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 Maybe you're right, that sends out a piss poor message though. Who are they going to drop? gallagher
nickelbyfox Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 Agreed, but personally think Sven prefers Dyer as a sub, and will move Vassel back to the left but who knows eh? Have to say though Dyer, Vassel and Yakubu up top would be pretty formidable!
Libertine Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 Maybe you're right, that sends out a piss poor message though. Who are they going to drop? Lloyd, clearly. I don't think he should start the next game, but I'm fairly sure it'll be Vassell, Yak and Gally as the front three eventually. I prefer Vassell in the middle really, but it should work, and we really should keep the three in midfield as they are.
StanSP Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 Someone on here claimed Naughton may be going to QPR the other day (before loan was tied up). Yeah there was something on VtialQPR (or whatever it's called) that QPR couldn't match the fee that we were paying to keep him on loan.
Babylon Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 Dyer will be left out and Vassel will move out wide again.
LeicesterLuke Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 Sorry if somebody has already posted this, cant be botherd to go trough 7 pages to find out.this a MUST if he scores! Love to see the kop jumping up and down to this.
MC Prussian Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 Seven pages in just one hour - this is spreading like a wildfire! Anyway, you reckon he might play on Saturday against Preston? Or will he need a few weeks of special training to get back to his usual self before getting into the first team (à la Vassell)?
ajthefox Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 even is he is fit he shouldn't play on saturday. Sven would have to be looney to change what worked so so well on sunday, not to mention it would most certainly be a blow for whoever was dropped.
Kitchandro Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 Dyer will be left out and Vassel will move out wide again.
Bausor Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 FORMATION WE SHOULD NOW USE 4-1-3-2 OR 4-3-1-2 THOUGHTS?
Haydos Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 Gotta be the same front 3 for me. Yak to come on after 60-70, play him into form like Vassell was
Babylon Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 I know, plays much better up front. He could come in for Darius to rest him a bit, Sven did say he's struggled with his back.
Kitchandro Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 gallagher And play Abe on the right again? Or vassell on the wing? The balance of the side is working at the moment. Sven would be making a mistake to include Yakubu just for the sake of it. Completely unecessary until the front 3/midfield 3 stops being effective.
sdb Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/jan/11/steven-pienaar-everton-tottenham Guardian reported it over 2 hours ago!
tylesta Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 4 1 3 2 weale naughton hobbs bammmba berner abe king wellens dyer vassell yakubu
MC Prussian Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 Everton fans on SOS1878 are a bit baffled by this move: http://www.sos1878.co.uk/forum/topic/4678-yakubu/ Still seem to rate the lad quite highly.
