Yakubu - sort of confirmed

I know, plays much better up front. He could come in for Darius to rest him a bit, Sven did say he's struggled with his back.

Yeh if Vassell is unfit I'd also envisage Yak coming in for his position and the rest staying the same.

even is he is fit he shouldn't play on saturday.

Sven would have to be looney to change what worked so so well on sunday, not to mention it would most certainly be a blow for whoever was dropped.

My guess is that one or two would appreciate a rest especially after that fast-paced game against Man City. Expect Dyer to be dropped.

FORMATION WE SHOULD NOW USE

4-1-3-2

OR

4-3-1-2

THOUGHTS?

YEAH WITH KING IN AMC AND GIVE HIM FREE ROLE. OR ABE AS ANCHORMAN (NO FORWARD RUNS). WHO SHOULD BE THE POACHER THOUGH?

And play Abe on the right again? Or vassell on the wing? :frusty:

The balance of the side is working at the moment.

Sven would be making a mistake to include Yakubu just for the sake of it. Completely unecessary until the front 3/midfield 3 stops being effective.

so he signed him for the sake of it?

i honestly think he will make his 1st starting line up against man city. prob make bench this saturday then come on in the final 3rd of the game for say vassell to help keep darius fit enough. no player has the given right to walk straight into the team no matter how big a name they are or think they are. the stint that these set of players have put in the last 3games has shown that no 1 man will make us win. its a team game a team effort.

so he signed him for the sake of it?

Or for when it isn't working?

That said, and in the interest of balance, it hasn't exactly been working long

As is for now for me

No, he'd be playing for the sake of it, because nothing needs to be changed at the moment

He should be on the bench and come on as a sub.

I must reiterate PLEASE no more Vassell on the wing

Most Evertonians don't seem to understand that in order to get players in we need to shift players off the wage bill...

To be honest, I only had a quick read through, but in the past few months, your club owners have sold a lot of assets in order to make "quick" money (parking lot, training ground, etc.).

How stable is that financial basis of yours? Any debts?

In any case, I hope he can still bang a few in (until the end of the season).

Playoffs, anyone?whistle.gif

I think even if we didn't have Yak, play-offs can be a serious target given the way we're playing at the moment.

not saying just let the lad walk in!!! but him and vassel up top would be awesome. we have struggled to score goals with the 3 up front which is basicly 1 with the other two wingers i played up front on my own and it is hard work being the lone striker with 2 it makes life alot easier cause you have some 1 to play off . but in all honesty i want 2 up front

Maybe, but our strike force was probably the weakest link of all areas up until right now (apart from the bad defensive record at the beginning of the season).

We've been calling for a goalscorer for quite some time, hopefully Yakubu fits the bill.

If he is half as good as he was 2 years ago, he'll dominate this league.

It's not long ago that this guy was a top, top Premier League striker.

I haven't got Any problems with darius going back to the wing, he was starting to play well e.g. The forest match. We just didn't look as good going forward because we had Howard up top.

They've been sold ages ago. Like years ago. Yes we have debts, but we are basically running our club on what we earn right now. Which is why we have no money and which is why we need to get rid before we buy. It's as simple as that and will be that way until we get investment.

2nd half against Forest he was good. Every other performance on the wing has been non-existent

Oh and he is not cup-tied...

He was an unused sub at the weekend. Does that count? Dzeko isn't allowed to play for man city because he wasn't signed in time for the first game so surely we're not allowed to play Yak

Don't think he's eligible for that. Something to do with not being registered more than 12 hours before the original tie. Same as Dzeko.

Surely can't be long until someone comes along for you, great fanbase, quality manager and big potential I think.

Especially when even the dump that is Blackburn get investment, although how much investment they will actually get is a different matter.

I guess gettin the right people is key. Has anyone offered in recent time?
