Wellens to Brum

I heard when we struggled under Sousa that he along with Fryatt were unhappy and handed in transfer requests. I won't say this is an unlikely deal then.

Sousa should go then not Wellens

No you are a muppet.

I find it baffling that people can't see how important he is to them team, especially considering he was ever present last season when we finished 5th (even King didn't play many games early in the season)

Sometimes he is pretty good, sometimes distinctly average, sometimes absolute crap - often all these things during the same game. He is also a poser, like Gally. Loves being on the telly. Definitely overrated. Inconsistent, unreliable, often lazy in closing down defensively. He could very easily be replaced. He can go now!

Not really. He doesn't score goals like King and hasn't got the work rate of Abe.

Although he's been good in recent weeks, it wouldn't be that hard a task to replace him.

Anywhere near 1.5 mil and we'd be stupid not to bite there hand off.

Completely disagree. Wellens has a great work rate. Against Leeds and Swansea in the first half Abe just walked around and did nothing. Wellens is our engine.

King scores goals but his all round game isn't as good as Wellens'. Finding a footballer with a football brain is much harder than finding a midfielder who can score.

If he goes you'll be very sorry at the end of the season, mark my words.

Sorry but this is bullshit! He is not lazy! He always gets stuck in and shows urgency when no one else does. I have seen every home game this season and he's had 2 bad ones - QPR and Leeds. Most games he's been our best player.

What is wrong with everyone?!

Against Doncaster first half he was the only one trying, and ran the show in the second half. Against Ipswich he was the only one trying. He was many people's man of the match against Manchester City, a performance which I have seen quite a few times this season. He is our most consistent player.

Right, you know what, forget it. I'll just go along with everyone else, Abe and King are the future of Leicester City and Wellens and Gallagher should be lynched and hung because they're northerners.

Wellens is the only player in our starting eleven with any aggression at the moment. If we did sell we must replace him with someone who plays with a bit of aggression in the middle.

I would not sell him without a better, almost immediate replacement. And that replacement not being another loan player. What I think it was Babylon said about selling off our assets and replacing them with loans is quite worrying actually.

Agree. All you need to do is watch the 120 mins of the play-off 2nd leg against Cardiff and he was still making a runs in the final minutes.

I don't want him to go. Not now, anyway. The partnership formed is solid and I'd hate to see it broken up mid-season. I'd hate it even more if a massive ego (i.e. Vieira) was used as a replacement.

I think you are a northener. Wellens gone.

I completely agree with everything you say in every thread but this is excellent,

Wellens has a fantastic footballing brain, thats what makes him and Vassell quicker than the rest.

King will never make it to 'the top'. He scores goals and maybe in the right position but he goes missing in games and rarely tackles.

Not disagreeing but how comes he's so chubby then?

Would be very dissapointing to loose him. I don't understand why he has never played in the Premiership before though. He's easily better than some of the midfielders in that division.

Obviously not many premier managers agree with you and kitchanpro or he would have gone some time ago,

And it is still only a rumour that Brum are interested so perhaps only one premier manager may agree with you.

Check out Man City second goal. He made no move toward their player who set up Tevez. Wellens was 10 yards from him when the ball was played to him and 10 yards from him when it was crossed - ok he would not have got to him to tackle him, but an attempt to close him down would probably have meant he could have deflected the ball for a corner. Instead it was easy to play the ball past him.

Likewise I think it was the last home game for Vitor. We conceded a goal and even though Wellens was closest to their player in possession he was pointing to Vitor to come out of his back four position, come past himself ( ie Wellens ) to close down their attacker - YES lazy b*stard and of course they scored. Inconsistent does crap things, does good things = you got to know what you're watching and be able to see both the good and the bad, sorry!

I love how fickle people can be sometimes, where has the loyalty gone in football? Wellens has produced some of the best performances within our team both this season and last. It's the same with people who have now suddenly turned on Dyer (a player who has also been one of our best players this season even though Vassel has been favoured over him).

So what's the plan, sell Wellens and disrupt the midfield/team once again and try and find a player that can make hold his own against players like Vier / De Jong in the next couple of weeks just in time to make a real push for the play-offs? Wake up.

Could you please stop abusing people who don't love the players quite as much as you do (it's impossible for us mere mortals).

No he has a point bout all these ****** on here who rekon wellens is not one off our best players week in week out!!

He has had a great season, no one can really deny that! However had this been in summer wouldn't have really minded if he left but would disrupt the team way too much if he did now imo. a lot rests on his shoulders if we are going to push up the table, starting with Saturday, so would be a waste to sell him now

Sorry but what has Dyer actually achieved this season.

Yes he's fast and can terrorize a defence, until they realise that he doesn't actually do much, he can't cross a ball and his shooting just recently has been poor.

Thank god Vassel was favoured over Dyer, how else was he ever going to get match fit?

Some can watch Vassel achieve little in his first few games but know that there is a potentially good player out there for us who has already been successful in his career, others see Dyer running around all over the place and believe that he is the best thing since sliced bread when he has actually done nowt in his career.

It's all about opinions, but not all of them can be right.
