Waghorn

Derby are playing soo shit if they finish above us it will be nothing to do with a Waghorn contribution!

Leicester P27 36pts

Derby P26 34 pts

Preston P25 20pts

I think thats the main difference between derby and preston!

If Waghorn went to derby until the end of the season, and they ended up in a play-offs and he scored some goals then it'd have everything to do with Waghorns contribution. If you look at the league table, Derby have got just as much chance as us at getting in the playoffs if their game picks up?!? I just dont want to see us regretting this like DJ last year.

Not very impressed with his departure to be honest, Vassell looks as though he's going to have a niggle every once in a while and the ever heavier pitches may make that worse. If/when that happens it leaves just Yakubu with Howard playing the subs role, on the plus side it will be good for Waghorn to get games, hopefully he'll take some points from our promotion rivals if we can force ourselves into the mix.

Although Derby themselves are potentially in a better league position than us frusty.gif FFS!

Waghorn will only go if we are getting another striker in IMO.

Sven should be spending his time trying to find the old Waghorn (picking him tonight would have been a good start) not loaning him to those Scumbags whilst chasing after ridiculously unrealistic has beens!

Why bang your head against the wall when you know that, if this is the case, Sven will look to bring in more firepower up front? lets just hope the replacements are less mediocre than mr Waghorn has been so far this season.

we just bought yakubu ffs who effortlessly slid in a goal on his debut. the fact that waghorn could be loaned out doesnt really worry me unless he starts smashing them in for a rival club.

i could be wrong, but maybe sending him on loan somewhere he is guaranteed 90 mins a week for a month would bring out the old waggy. isnt that the whole point of letting you players go out on loan anyway, regardless of wether they have just recently joined you for 2 mil. he has been luke warm for us so far.

Look, I would prefer to watch young 20 year old players who cannot yet produce the goods, instead of fit 33 year old superstars of proven goalscoring brilliance on the world stage, who less than 12 months ago were playing for the best club side in the world - so I'm off to watch Hinckley Town instead. How about some of you guys?

Firstly, do you mean Hinckley United?

Yep that's right Henry's 33, not 20.

Yep that's right I'd rather have a young promising player playing for us over a long period of time and hopefully becoming a legend for us, than a 33 year old has been (it doesn't matter which way you look at it, he's still a has been) playing for us for about a month, probably being unfit, and causing unrest in the squad, who will start to think if there's any point playing for a club who's only interest is to buy as many big names as possible.

Maybe, but it's more likely Sven will be more interested in bringing or more big names than nurturing our young talent. My guess is he'll be sold at the end of the season, I can't envisage anything else tbh.

Oh sorry, here was me talking about the here and now, not such a time as when my grandchildren are grown up.You didn't make yourself clear. Oh and by the way, I also wish we hadn't got Sven and the new owners here to make all this business of proven stars coming to Leicester a real possibility. Let's just be drab and boring shall we?

Also, I do want us to have young exciting players to develop as time goes on, I repeat as time goes on, BUT I would love to have proven and fantastic NOW!

Ignoring the first reply as it was dripping in sarcasm and pointlessness again:

1 How do you expect that to happen if we are just bringing in a has been on the short term every other week? You're not being realistic. Young players will just get fed up.

2 We are not getting Henry so really, we've just loaned out a talented striker, WE ARE NOT GETTING HENRY!!! We are just wasting our time trying to.

3 As I keep saying, he's past it. Being fantastic once doesn't mean you're fantastic now. Next you'll be calling for Maradona, he wasn't always that fat you know!

4 Frankly, I'm more interested in going up a division and winning trophies, not seeing great players waltz around like the has beens that they are. Like I said, Henry coming would just unsettle the squad, and it probably has already anyway. That is not going to help us go up.

It just seems unfortunate doesnt it that whichever way the club turns in order to achieve success it simply isnt good enough for some ! For several years the same people who are now criticising the big name signings were the ones who were asking for investment in the club to get us back to where we belong ! Investment comes along and surprise surprise its not the right sort. I agree that young talent is essential, and i would be happy for young talent to mature and prove themselves, but is everyone prepared to wait for 3 - 5 years for this to happen ? I think not !

well if we look at it like this; for one month we loan Thierry Henry and send Waghorn to play some games somewhere else, because he hasn't been sharp enough for us and you are complaining. He's 20 years old and if he isn't coming up with the goods then he will know about it and want to prove himself. a short term loan would be a perfect opportunity. i think the DJ scenario was a bit of a freak incident really. we shouldn't be expecting a similar situation to happen to every player we loan out.

Well it's not going to take that long if he's given a bit of game time. Like tonight, it would be a great match to start him in. But no, we are chasing Henry instead, and sending him off to Derby.

I've never called for us to be a team full of has beens, if you can find me saying otherwise please share it.

I just want success, promotion, trophies - and this isn't the best way to go about it.

How do you know that?

It's just as likely they would say, "bloody hell I can't believe we are going to have Henry here. What an opportunity to learn from one of the best premier league players of all time".

How do you know? Have you ever managed a football team?

Your arguments are so full of assumptions.

why do i get the feeling you have this image in your head of waghorn waiting outside sven's office, with a tear running down his face, while sven ignores him and sits in a massive leather chair calling up agents. it only takes an assistant to call up and ask if a player is available or not. Im sure waghorns progress has been monitored by the coaching staff and the reason he is being neglected is because he has not played well enough.

You obviously do not understand what Sven and the owners are trying to do, so I will explain it to you as simply as I can.

They are trying to give the club ( this season ) the best chance of getting to theplayoffs. Then, if we have real quality in the team for the playoffs we would have an excellant chance of promotion. By that I mean, if our team is the best team with the best players in the playoffs we ( at least ) in theory, would have the best chance to win through.

Waghorn is seen as a potential quality player for the future. You know it makes sense.

( Anyway, how many of these star names have we brought in on your basis of one every other week. Who are they, 'cos I've missed them. )
