singinpete Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 I think Waghorn would be fooking awesome against a team like Man City, he'd be so up for it tonight if he were thrown in. I think we'd see the side of him we saw last season and Man Citys mahoooosive defence would struggle with him, but obviously with the form he's shown recently and the fact he's probably lackin in match fitness it a defo no go.
MrSpaM Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Being reported in the Leicester mercury this morning derby definatly want him, and he could be loaned out by the end of the week. I'm going to seriously struggly to support him once he comes back from half a season with the sheep shaggers, this has just got the dj campbell escapade from last season written all over it. Surely it would just be stupid to loan him out to a club so close to us in the league, even more so since it's flippin Derby. The whole thought of this makes me shudder
SMX11 Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Radio Derby say that he will sign for them tomorrow, on loan.
Fox 4 Life Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 from Stringer via twitter "Colleagues at BBC Derby report The Rams will sign Martyn Waghorn on loan tomorrow. Whether it's a month or season unknown. BBC Sport v soon"
Babylon Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Do not understand loaning a player to a rival club, have we not learned from the blackpool episode.
MrSpaM Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Whats the point in them signing him for a month when we play them in about 3 weeks time? What the hell are these boards going to be like if he scores goals that put them above us in the league? Waghorns going to end up getting slated for this if it happens.
SMX11 Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 He needs to play games and he isn't here. I can't see Derby be in direct competition with us, so I think it is a good move as they don't have any strikers at all. Waggy needs to keep developing and get his confidence back. We will have Henry and Parker anyway :sge:
hackneyfox Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 He needs to be playing games week in, week out. He won't get that at Wolves or QPR. Pointless loaning him to a Division 3 club. That leaves Derby and perhaps PNE. He won't play against us should it be Derby.

If they overtake us in the league can see alot of city fans turning on him.
MrSpaM Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 He will not be allowed to play against us. What are you on? That my whole point, if they signed him for a month he'd only get 3 games
StanSP Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 If he plays at least those 3 games, it gives Sven an idea to see how he copes in this league without fitting him in his own plans at the moment. I don't think Derby would take him on loan just to whack him on the bench. Sven clearly isn't convinced about him as part of Leicester's squad but obviously sees that he should be playing at least at his level, which is why he might see Derby as a good place to go.
artursteppe Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 That my whole point, if they signed him for a month he'd only get 3 games Where did you get this '1 month loan' thing from? It will be for the rest of the season, otherwise, no point!

If they overtake us in the league can see alot of city fans turning on him. If they overtake us in the league then we have failed miserably this year. I would rather have him playing than rotting on the bench ocassionally coming on being played on the wing.
MrSpaM Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Where did you get this '1 month loan' thing from? It will be for the rest of the season, otherwise, no point! Stringers twitter, the center of truth I'd rather he went to Preston (who are also interested) if i'm honest, anywhere but bloody Derby. I wouldnt be opposed to this move if he was going to north end at all.
cambridgefox Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 He should refuse to go because he loves Leicester too much, and wouldnt be able to cope with the shame of going to a local rival!! If he doesnt want to move away, how about Peterborough, not too far,in need of another striker. Not in our division!
hackneyfox Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 It has to be in our division otherwise he isn't proving a thing if he starts banging in goals at a level below us. He goes on loan and scores goals we either get back an improved player or we sell him. Sitting on the bench will give neither Waghorn or ourselves anything positive.
hackneyfox Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 If he doesnt want to move away, how about Peterborough, not too far,in need of another striker. Not in our division! When did the geographical location of a club become important?
Criggers Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 If we can use a rival to better one of our players who is currently a huge waste of money and space then why not? Derby are playing soo shit if they finish above us it will be nothing to do with a Waghorn contribution! My colleague who is a Derby fan has said they are serious relegation candidates if they don't sort their act out (8 losses or something in the form table?!), so what's the difference between Derby and Preston exactly?
cambridgefox Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 When did the geographical location of a club become important? It might not be the case for Waghorn, but being young and settled in the city it could be a factor, but i am only guessing,he might just want 1st team football. Im not bothered if he goes down a league. How many times do you hear ex pros go on about confidence being a vital part of the game, banging a few goals in for any team could be the catalyst he needs to kickstart his season.
Ricey Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 Silly bit of business, hope it's only for a month. Also, surely he's needed tonight? Especially if Vassell isn't fully fit.
hackneyfox Posted 18 January 2011 Posted 18 January 2011 It won't prove a thing to his current manager or to any manager of a Championship side to whom we may offload him.
