How he's being treated????

He's been told he has a future at the club but should go on loan to get more experience!! I'd say he's being treated very fairly indeed!

signing someone (with most likely some kind of first team football on offer) and then a couple months down the line saying you need to go out on load is hardly fair on him..

really hope sven has some secret plans though as no way should we rely on howard being the back up..

What happens when Vassell inevitably picks up another niggle or needs subbing in a game (like he does 99% of the time)

Unless Vassell is purely Yakubu's back-up this is purely a move which is good for Waghorn as an individual but a bad move for our squad

I think a little patience is called for. Sven is saying that other players will be coming in next week. He will only bring in players whom he thinks are better than the ones we have now.

I would suggest therefore that if he lets Waghorn go it will be to bring in someone ( at least in the short term ), who is better. Sven wants to improve the team to give us a better chance of promotion. Why do people doubt the man. He definitely knows what he is doing, OK?

I'd say we're likely to see Vassell, Dyer, Gallagher as the 3 widemen for 2 slots, then Yak/Vassell in the middle depending on the wide men and Howard as the final backup.

Waghorn doesnt belong on the wing, send him somewhere he will play up front (probably in 4-4-2) and let him get some games and hopefully goals under his belt.

Sven didn't sign him so he owes him nothing.

And Waghorn has not produced.

Send him on loan as as soon as a replacement is signed.

still dont mean hes been treated fairly..

I don't see how he has been treated unfairly.

Why should Sven pick him based on what he did last season?

He has shown very little this season, in fact he has in the main been poor.

Sven has already mentioned that he won't be going until Vassel is proven to be fit again.

I can't see him going the rest of the season with just Yakubu, Vassel and Howard so I'm sure there will be another striker coming in.

Which others haven't produced?

For me that would be Weale, Morrison, Hobbs, Berner (at times), Neilson, Fryatt, Kennedy, N'Guessan, Campbell

Sven has looked at replacing or has replaced all of those.

How the hell can you say Weale hasn't performed!!?!?! Are you watching a different keeper?! Against Man City - he kept us in it at the Walkers, and without him at the Replay, it could have been 5/6. He has his bad points but you will struggle find a better keeper in the Championship

I'm with Hackneyfox. There must be 40 keepers better than Weale in the Prem ( the only one whose worse was that 3rd choice keeper from Wolves ), 20 better outside the Prem, and a few score better from across Europe. The other observations from Hackneyfox were spot on as well.

No I wouldn't.

Many think he was responsible for 2 of the goals on Tuesday.

He's poor on crosses, doesn't communicate with the defence, can't distribute, is awful with shots from distance.

You're fighting a losing battle, he seems to have worked his way into the hearts of many fans.

I knew Kolarov would score that 4th before he even shot, his positioning for that goal was comical. Almost as bad as the free kick Cardiff had in the playoffs, he left a massive target to be hit, and it was with relative ease.

Clearly he isn't good enough, there are so many flaws to his game as you mention, Sven recognises that too.

I know I'm fighting a losing battle, too many on here fall in love with a player 'jizz' when he plays well and will never accept that they may be poor at times.

But I'm sticking to my guns on this, I haven't rated Weale since the end of his first 6 months.

I didn't rate Morrison and took stick

I didn't rate Fryatt and took stick

I don't currently rate Hobbs either.

Dyer played well again the other day but he's replaceable.

Berner is good for the bench but I don't want him playing every week.

Football is all about opinions.

Half of them haven't played under the new and better organised regime, basing opinions on early season form under the worst manager we've had is a bit off IMO

Weale can be improved on, but he's doing a good job whilst he's there. Kept us in the game (both ties) against ManCity & the defence looks happier since he was restored to the side.

Morrison was solid after Davies walked out and showed signs of a good partnership with Hobbs before being sold. Their solidness contributed to those two wins

Hobbs looks like a CB who's played with about 10 different partners over the course of half a season, which is funny because that's exactly whats happened. At 22 he's young and is in need of consistancy and good defensive coaching, he's more than talented enough

Berner got turned inside out a couple of times against the most expensive team in the world? So, most premier league defences get turned by Tevez, Milner, Johnson & co, he's been brilliant in the Championship since coming back into the side and is a key reason why we're dangerous from set-pieces again

Neilson is no great shakes, but would a better player be happy with being permanent cover?

Fryatt's gone, so who cares. He'll score goals in a 4-4-2

Kennedy at 25 is a bit old to be still trying to cut it, if you're not good enough by that age the future probably lies elsewhere

N'Guessan isn't a Championship player, his pace may be enough in the lower division but without some skill of composure its wasted at theis level

I feel for Kennedy, a NP signing, who has not been given a single chance.

sam allardyce's favourite plan, throw the big centre-back up top, play bamba as a centre-foward.

I love how so many drool over the daily posting of yet another potential signing and yet wet their pants at the thought of someone leaving.

Ok may not be the same people but if you want all these new guys to supposedly improve the team then you have to accept others will not be needed.

drooling and wetting your pants is part and parcel of modern football these days for fans

get with the times grandad , the days of the stiff upper lip are gone

we're all renaissance men these days

Sven just said in an interview with Stringer that Waghorn has asked to leave so he can play regular first team football. Loan or permo was not stated.

Posted

I was a bit disappointed to here Sven say waggy had asked to leave, he should just buckle down and wait for his opportunity to come, he will surely learn so much from the likes of Sven and players like yakubu

Posted

I don't think he meant as much as Waggy has come to him and asked to leave, i think he meant Waggy has come to him and asked for more first team football and the only way for that would to be sending him out on loan.

Posted

Waghorn has done nothing recently to justify being in the starting XI. Its a squad game and he is a young player who will get his chance. He has not been good enough this season to merit a starting spot.

What are you on about? he hasn't had a fvcking chance up front!!!

he played out wide which is completely out of position for him and he's getting slated for not being good enough? How's that work.

Vassell hardly lit the world up in his first few appearances out wide but he somehow merited getting more starts until he eventually played well.
