Calling him an arrogant twat is one thing but I have to disagree there, he's been one of England's bright sparks, he's a much better all round player than Rooney. He's our brightest young prospect IMO.

He's really not.

No way. He can not use both feet. He had the first big opportunity of the game and cocked it up because he kept waiting for the angle on goal on his left foot.

I understood why Mancini uses him as nothing more than an impact player. His technique is not good enough. Wilshere is by far a better prospect and by far a more technically gifted player. Same applies to Rodwell as well.

His games against Leicester haven't been his best admittedly but you must be watching a different player to me in general. You said you only realised last night how average he was, well you've obviously not seen the majority of his previous games for Man City and England, or you are just changing your opinion after one game.

Are you retarded?

Yeh comparing a striker to a winger seems abit odd

Anyway why do people take things so personally haha, its only abit of banter. You'd think he raped the virgin mary in the middle of the pitch or something

Posted

Are you retarded?

Are you? Rooney's been cack for some time now - can't beat a man, has scored barely any goals for a year, and is just a fat bloke these days. You rate him for his name only.

You mean he's on better form?

Adam Johnsons a fast winger who can play either side of midfield, has a peach of a left foot but a shit right one and has won **** all.

Whereas, Rooney can play either side of midfield comfortably, play as a lone striker, or in the free role or as a second striker naturally, can score 30 goals a season (proved last year) with the right service, has a brilliant right foot and a more than decent left foot and is good in the air, and has also won 9 trophies as well as numerous individual awards.

Go figure.

Rooney's only reall assett these days is his goalscoring, and he's been shit at that for a year. Johnson is not a striker, therefore you cannot really compare their goalscoring antics.

At Euro 2004, people were talking about him as the closest thing we've had to Maradona. Then he broke his foot and has never been the same player.

He scores goals but he's not very good at beating anyone for pace or skill, unlike Johnson. If you can't do that then you're not a World Class striker, as some people make out he is. Likewise, if you fail to perform at big tournaments, you are not World Class.

Don't give me this trophies crap either, Johnson is younger than Rooney and has played in crap sides like Middlebrough before coming to Man City, where he has shown to be one of their best players whilst being inexplicably left on the bench. In a few seasons, he will have some trophies under his belt. Football is a team game and if you think Rooney's won anything single hadnedly then you're pretty deluded.

I think you've just got it in for Johnson because of what he said

Fail to see an issue.

You're teams scored a goal, you have a bunch of fans slagging you off, you celebrate to take the piss.

If anyone here was ever in his shoes your telling me your wouldn't want to annoy the crowd? Of course you would. That's part of football.

If Waghorn had scored late on, or we had won and our players did what he did (which is quite frankly nothing) we would be laughing about how funny it is and how clever it was of them.

Get over it. Making mountains out of molehills.

Ask 100 defenders in the prem who they'd rather mark. I guarantee you 90% at least would say Rooney. Johnson is nowhere near Rooney's calibre.

Don't see why everyone's moaning anyone, we give him and other players shit as fans, they're just responding and winning it seems, with some of the muppets reactions in here.

Rooneys been cack since last april, was cack in the world cup, cack off the field, cack role model.

The money has gone to the cvnts head, he has never been in the same league as messi, kaka, ronaldo etc and never will be. You drop out of form for a couple of months, not 9 months!

The bit in bold is what most people are questioning. You may think Johson is a better player than Rooney, that's your opinion but as pointed out Rooney is quite a versatile player can play up front on his own, a supporting striker or a wide attacking player on either side. He is a goal scorer and scores from anywhere on the pitch and he creates lots of chances for others. He is happy to play a supporting role to players like Van Nistelroy, Berbatov and Ronaldo as well as being the focus like he has done for united and England. he will also chase back and close down the defenders especially if he makes a mistake. Yes he is going through a bad spell at the moment and was shite in the World Cup and this is not the first time, he is also overly aggressive at times and a liability but he is an extremely talented player with very good all round game.

Johnson, can take a man on, whip a cross and has a good shot on him, but in no way does he compare to Rooney in the all round department, he doesn't have the vision or skill of Rooney and relies on pace too much, I also don't recall ever seeing him track back and tackle but I may be wrong about that. When Rooney is on form he is the best player in the premiership and can win games single handedly, when Johnson is on form he is a a very good left winger. Johnson is yet to prove himself in anything other than the Chamionship, he is currently playing in the most expensive English team ever assembled and he looks good, when he plays, but he is yet to establish him as deserving a first team spot and seeing as Mancini wants to build a team around Balotelli Dzeko and Tevez and I don't see much room for him. There is no comparison between him and Rooney.

As for tapping his premier league badge, he would do well to remember that it wasn't that long ago Manchester City were a League 1 side, and even less time since he was a Championship player, so a little respect is in order. The big bucks has probably gone to his head, which is a shame because I thought he was such a nice boy.

Again, they'd probably say that because of his name. I don't believe for one second Rooney is better than Johnson though. In a few years you will see what I mean. Unless he does a Rooney and gets fat.

I'm not talking about in a few years. I'm talking about now, and right now Rooney is miles ahead of Johnson.

Compare what Johnson's done in the game to what Rooney has. Maybe that might show you Rooney's better. How many league titles, league cups, FA cups and Champions leagues has Johnson won?

Were fans slagging him off?

It would have been class if Waghorn or anyone had equalised and ran off kissing the championship badge. That's not being disrespectful that's having a laugh. It this kind of premiership elitist attitude which makes some people hate the premiership and the way in which some teams conduct themselves, there was a bit of theatrics last night with Mancini brandishing imaginary cards and the likes of Viera and Tevez trying to intimidate our players.

I was really pissed off over the Tevez/Hobbs penalty incident, he could have easily avoide Hobbs slide, he was going to block the shot not tackle him, and slam it past Weale, but he decided to leave his leg in, risking injury to himself, to get the penalty and red card. I was glad he missed, and I really hate any player who goes looking for the penalty rather than the goal. Messi is the best in the world, and he will always try and stay on his feet when in the box and try and score.

You are talking about 'all round' as in versatility. i am talking about footballing ability. Yes Rooney can play as a lone striker, or in a supporting role, but his football abilities are not that broad.

Yes he's strong, scores goals, he can pass the ball, he can hold it up. I'd dispute he scores 'from anywhere on the pitch' because these days he scores pretty much all his goals from in the box (these days being last season). But how often does he go past a man? Very rarely.

Rooney when he picks the ball up from deep, will either pass it, or run a few yards and blast it. Johnson will actually go past players with his pace or skill, and he has an end product. He is better technically, quicker, and has more of an impact on the game as a whole.

Rooney does not win games single handedly, he plays in the best team in the country (arguably). He's also been a failure for England since he broke his foot a few years ago.

Johnson has come off the bench a number of times for Man City this season and changed the game. He's also looked far more effective for England than Rooney's been for a long time.

Our fans can be so biased sometimes. Hobbs lunged in and was completely done. He took out Tevez's standing leg and was very lucky not to be sent off. There was nothing else to it.

Yeh, and I'm saying Rooney didn't win those things, Manchester United did. Did George Best ever win the World Cup? Oh no, he didn't because he was Irish, and they're shit.

Using trophies as an indication of a players worth is shit.

Using your eyes is generally a better idea.

Next you'll be telling me Rooney's better because of all the media hype.

Are you mistaking Tevez for Dyer??

He's a quality player no doubt about that. As for these people saying he's not that good as he only has a right foot used for standing with, well what about Ryan Giggs? Is he cr*p as well?
