Fabio Coltorti is out of contract at Racing Santander in the summer and wants to leave early, so I've heard... whistle.gif

Only downside is that he's not Spanish, but Swiss. Ahem.

Arsenal will need to sign another keeper if it is to be Almunia, Wenger won't leave himself with no cover.

Also Arsenal are the only club still in every tournament, that a lot of games to risk their current #1 with only a young guy as back-up

Forgot about Fabianski.

hmm Almunia, never been as consistant as someone like Given, even though hes played for a lot better team who keeps hold of the ball a lot - If we was to join is it could go either way

do u mean Jose Molina?? retired at end of 06/07 season i think coach for villarreal

lol yes I know :). I bet some people would still think he'd be better than Weale at 40 years old.

I know this is slightly off topic but i like the look of the hearts goalie, think his names Kello. I dont watch much scottish football but what i have seen he looks good.

I can only come up with Almunia, can't find any Spanish keepers looking for a move away from their clubs which would fit Svens bill.

There's no way Almunia would be, "training with City" (to quote the Roof guy). He's near the Arsenal first team (and played a fair bit this season) - why would he be training with us - Sven would know how good he is for the Championship; just from his own knowledge, talking to people here and looking at (numerous) Arsenal videos (all of which, showing he's crap) ?! It's got to be a goalie who's playing in a European League and Sven wants to get to know a bit more about and see how he deals with English conditions.

I didn;t say i think it was him, it's just the only decent Spanish keeper which i can think of which may be looking for a move away.

Could have said the same thing about Rensing...a proven good goalkeeper, but Sven had a look and for whatever reason, it didnt materialize. Trials arent just about watching them play, its about seeing how they get on with other players too.

Plus, even though Almunia is prone to mistakes, he would still do a good job in this league, and hes not THAT close to the Arsenal first team, thes 3rd choice now. I think Weale is doing a good enough job at the moment anyway.
