cc_star Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 Erm how is THIS possible!?!?!?!?! My link I don't remember Weale being on here recently !!!!! By the way this isn't me saying Ricardo is crap - just that surely as hew had nothing to do how can he be in team of the week! And surely as Weale has made some awesome saves recently he SHOULD have featured! Someone saw that Leicester gave an immense team performance and kept a clean sheet so just stuck the Keeper in, they can't have watched him for 90mins, particularly the 2nd 45
davieG Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 It was that punch he did in the first half when he hit it off the pitch either that or his assist for King's goal
AmyLGK Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 Do ANY of these "pundits" do any kind of research these days!?!??!?!?!?!?!?
cc_star Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 So far this year Mee has been virtually written off after 1 game, Van Arnholt after 1 game and now Ricardo. Some of the views on here are completely ridiculous!! Who were 2 of our best players yesterday? Don't recall anyone writing them off People queried Mee coming in to the team, based on his debut those queries were justified so more people queried why he was included again. Don't see anyone writing him off its just asking a question. Nobody has written PVA off in the slightest, many people said he had a couple of indifferent displays & Berner's experience may be a better bet in some games, is that writing off? No it's an opinion. PVA was an awesome attacking force in the first half against Derby, in the second half when the defensive side of our game became more important (not that Derby were impressive, but they did up their game a bit) PVA performance shrunk a bit. I think its amazing that we've got 2 players like PVA & Berner who offer us, pace & attacking flair Vs a cool head, experienced hand - they compliment each other well. Opinions are great, without them there wouldn't be a forum

STUHILL Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 Unless I imagined it, and I'm not one for trawling through previous threads. There were many comments made about Mee being useless and should be sent back to Man City and PVA not being needed and how harsh it was on Berner. I hope people think twice before judging Ricardo after just one game.
hackneyfox Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 The usual suspects lined up to slate Mee, then Van Aarnolt and now Ricardo. It's meant to be the old ****ers like me who are against change.
Thracian Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 Yes just like a politician for wanting the guy to be given a chance. If you want to talk about "chance" I'd have said it is Weale deserves "a chance". He'd performed heroics in recent games and didn't deserve to be displaced by an out-of-practice incomer.

And surely as Weale has made some awesome saves recently he SHOULD have featured! Do you remember how much people moaned about how bad Gallagher were. Commentators I've heard nearly drooled when they spoke about him. Underrated by fans, maybe because of how we played under recent years. Ricardos approach to the game may interest commentators more than a standard Championship goalkeeper playing the same year after year.
ollielawrence Posted 18 February 2011 Posted 18 February 2011 Hi first post here, checked the forum on a regular basis for about 2 years though, i was wondering if there was any chance that anybody could put up a link to ricardo taking the pi$$ out of stringer last weekend, ive heard about it, but havnt seen the footage yet. many thanks
cc_star Posted 18 February 2011 Posted 18 February 2011 Mate who went said he was highly suspect again & is dreading playing him against the better teams we've got coming up Anyone who went have an opinion?
m00nie Posted 18 February 2011 Posted 18 February 2011 yea he flapped n dropped it couple of times.. bit shaky in the air.. teams will pick up on that so need to sort something..
Legend_in_blue Posted 18 February 2011 Posted 18 February 2011 Look people. If he wasn't in the team, there'd be nothing to moan about. People need something to moan about. It's not normal not to have a moan. Keep him in.
Ilkeston_Fox Posted 18 February 2011 Posted 18 February 2011 Hmmmm <_< yet to impress me. Weale should of kept his place imo.
i hate cov Posted 18 February 2011 Posted 18 February 2011 went to the game tonight and he looked way to unconfident when the ball came in to the box, get weale back in! he was awesome at shef.u shouldn't have been dropped!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 18 February 2011 Posted 18 February 2011 went to the game tonight and he looked way to unconfident when the ball came in to the box, get weale back in! he was awesome at shef.u shouldn't have been dropped! think SGE might put Weale back in soon anyway as he didnt drop him on form and once Flappardo has a few games under his belt it will change back to Weale in goal
Narborough_fox Posted 18 February 2011 Posted 18 February 2011 One cracking save, good distribution. one dodgy moment and another where he was fouled but the ref missed it. You don't get 79 caps for your country by luck, he must be a good keeper. Give him time.
Tommeh Posted 18 February 2011 Posted 18 February 2011 Thought he was faultless against Derby, not too convincing tonight however but I feel he'll be fine. I rate Weale and think he's been unfortunate, but what I cannot understand is the fvcking arselicking fanclub he seems to have emassed, chanting "Weaaale" etc. whenever Ricardo makes a bad kick, just fvck off. Happy to go along with whatever Sven sees best.
Fox92 Posted 18 February 2011 Posted 18 February 2011 You pay your money so you can do whatever you want -- but I thought shouting for Weale was ridiculas and quite disgraceful. Ok, Ricardo might look 'dodgy' when crosses come in, but Weale flaps just as much. Also, his distribution and communication is way better than Weale's. I personally like him. He doesn't just wallop the ball forward when its passed back to him.

STUHILL Posted 18 February 2011 Posted 18 February 2011 Sven has a tough decision as he said he wouldn't have dropped Weale for a mistake as that would be like punishment therefore will he drop Ricardo after a few mistakes tonight? I think after that 2nd half performance, a few changes are needed for tuesday. Oakley and Vassel out for Abe and Dyer but does Weale come in? I am leaning towards yes but I think Sven has to stick with one keeper now and I have no idea who he has in mind. I think Tuesday will reveal who he wants to be playing week in week out for us.
ibbosuk Posted 18 February 2011 Posted 18 February 2011 A better side would have punished his clangers His kicking was dreadful, not a single clearance comfortably cleared our centre-backs/their forwards. I don't know how anyone can say his distribution is based on one 20yrd pass to PVA that anyone could do, but everything a keeper needs to, like clear a ball properly he failed at. Luckily he hardly anything to do, but their were a couple of things and he got them all wrong, we know he's a puncher & not a catcher but it put us back under pressure straight the way, if that wasn't against a really shitty sheep side it's not hard to see it costing us. He seemed to come halfway for a few crosses & end up in no mans land. However, it was debut he can always improved but his performance highlighted everything that is written negatively about him. Will he make a match winning save, yes. Will he drop a clanger resulting in a goal conceded, equally almost certainly. Will his erraticness unsettle our very comfortable looking defence, maybe. Is he a gamble that's worth risking, we'll find out against better opposition. Mee obviously drastically improved beyond his first game, can Ricardo - maybe, but everything that is talked about him negatively was exhibited yesterday. I would leave it m8, the tossers on here who think he's o.k. will just see on tueday when Kalac markII costs us the Fvckin game... Shit for brains most of um.....

Fox1994 Posted 18 February 2011 Posted 18 February 2011 Ricardo did not get 80 caps for portugal by being shit. Our fans should be happy we've signed a world class keeper not slating him and calling for Weale. Absolutely disgraceful.
cc_star Posted 18 February 2011 Posted 18 February 2011 One cracking save, good distribution. one dodgy moment and another where he was fouled but the ref missed it. You don't get 79 caps for your country by luck, he must be a good keeper. Give him time. I don't get the opinion of he's got a load of caps therefore he must be good, aside from it being an incomparable style of football & the defenders are used to their keepers punching & not pushing wide or catching. There was (in the Derby game) also the question over his decision making with him seemingly coming halfway for a lot then changing his mind and ending up in no-mans land The last good games he had for his country was in Germany 2006 (nearly 5 years ago) he controversially carried on playing until 2008 making many mistakes along the way. After he was dropped from the national side 3 years ago he barely hasn't even played. Blindly pointing to caps he earned years ago is as irrelevant as someone blindly slating him who didn't see him play. Like I said somewhere else, if Sven favours him he did the right thing playing him in 'easier' games against Derby & BC because it could be a different kettle of fish against Cardiff, QPR & Forest and he needs to find his legs & confidence. Also regardless of opinions about him, when he's on the pitch he deserves 100% support
