Guest bennytwohats Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 I'm not slagging him off for bein good or bad enough. He got sent off in stupid circumstances. Surely he could just keep his mouth shut? The pen was saved and 12 mins to go in an important match, why even bother shouting/talking/questioning/fighting/kissing/enquiring with the ref? No need and he knew he was on a booking. Just shut up & get on with the game. It's about time all footballers did that. Yes it was stupid but it really didn't warrant a sending off. He's young and i'm sure he'll learn his lesson - let's not blow it out of proportion, it was a slip in judgement but sending him off for it was very harsh imo.
CKB Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 As per usual you get the stupid idiots who blag on a player because he did that, or he had a mare and then when they play well it's totally different ala Ben Mee Bruma has the potential to be world class, he's young and still learning and his silly moment today was evidence of that.. He could turn out to be different gravy though and it won't be with us and then everyone in years to come will be like "oh my god Bruma is amazing"

CKB Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 So, why should we be his kindergarten & home to all his mistakes? So basically every player has to be a machine? not have one mistake in them? Players who played for O'Neill in the glory days had mares, infact anyone can have mare on the day.. Bruma has showed he has major potential and if we get to sign players like this i'm for it.. Bruma was a guy who was close to going on loan to West Brom in the PL but ended up here, who has played for the FULL Dutch side and also has played a few games for Chelsea and people rag on him and would rather have Jack Hobbs back and that's not a dig at Hobbs i felt for him but Sven has different ideas and unfortunately Hobbs wasn't in them ideas I myself like classy center backs with pace and a eye for the pass and Bruma fits into that and was pleased when Bruma signed, i'd have kept Hobbs on still myself but only bench for me.. He's a battler is Hobbs but that's it What we do need is someone very experienced in the back four to help Bruma/co, that's our problem.. Bamba while the oldest hasn't got enough experience yet, Mee young, Vitor on loan and not experienced either, Hobbs still young and not rated by Sven anyhow.. A experienced CB would have been a good move from Sven but it didn't happen, of course if that happened then i doubt Bruma would be here anyhow.. If we don't get any experienced CB in the summer and possibly retain Bruma on loan again then a good defensive coach must come in Oh and just how many mistakes has Bruma made since he came here? or is Mr Bruma the one to blame this week?
MikeyT Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 not just the players fault to be fair, ever since the Cardiff game and Sven's insistence on picking him (playing him in midfield) its been down hill from there Sven and his team selections have cost us a play off place. one might argue we were bottom when he took over, but he still got us back in with a shout and then pissed it away with constant changes due to the need to have Jeffrey Bruma on the team sheet! if this is how its gonna be under him i don't want him here. how many times as Sven come out and said "i couldn't give him a reason for dropping him" IE Vitor! well don't ****ing do it then you old Mr Burns looking muggy tit! Dear God. <_<
ithuriel Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 Not that good a player, against coventry at home their main striker who likes to beat women beat Brumma convincingly too and Bamba had to switch with him.
Bugg Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 Not that good a player, against coventry at home their main striker who likes to beat women beat Brumma convincingly too and Bamba had to switch with him. Yeah but that striker who beats women beats centre backs from other teams a lot. Bringing that up doesn't back up your point at all.
ithuriel Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 i do not need to back up any points, i think he currently is not that good a player.

Football is a results business, look at our results since the likes of Bruma & Ricardo broke into the team, what was working amazingly up until derby halftime, is now abysmal There isn't really anything to add to this the facts speak for themselves, its either the players introduced or its the action of Sven tinkering with what was working very well and he upset the apple cart I've said above that Bruma will be a good a player, I'm sure - but it certainly isn't working out here and I'm over the moon he's banned and Vitor can have another shot, although I think Mee's 'hardness' is needed in the middle, but he's a far better defensive option (which is what we need at the moment look at the amount we're shipping) than PVA who's more similar to Aaron Lennon than Ashley Cole IMO Whichever way you add it up, things were better for us before Bruma (& Ricardo) came in and upset a winning team
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 If Vitor doesnt play aginst Burnley I will actually believe Sven has some sort of brain problem. But all we all know Mee will probably play instead, despite Vitor impressing much more.

But all we all know Mee will probably play instead, despite Vitor impressing much more. When you say impressing much more, I presume you are talking about one game... against S****horpe. Because he's been out injured half the time and was as inconsistent as any of our CB's earlier in the season. Mee has also had some excellent games for us and has turned in a few MOM performances. So I'm not sure why he's been so much more impressive, unless of course you are just reactionary.

Vitor's problem is that he never plays consecutive games due to injury, or not being picked, so we will never see him consistently. But when he has played he has performed better that Mee and Bruma, but he needs to be judged over a few games in a row, not one here and there. Mee is fairly decent, but for all round play Vitor has impressed me much more. Bruma however is just a liability, and the red card is a bessing in disguise.
Babylon Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 There isn't really anything to add to this the facts speak for themselves, its either the players introduced or its the action of Sven tinkering with what was working very well and he upset the apple cart Obviously completely forgetting many of the teams we've played have been near the top end of the league, and that form can change without there having to be a reason behind it. But of course you only deal in facts like Sven spending £10m, the fact you know we've paid huge fees for all the loans and us having to play Bruma.

What like Bristol City (lucky as feck), Coventry, Portsmouth, & Middlesbrough etc, so half the teams we've faired so badly against were so comfortably below us, its not funny Of course Cardiff, Norwich & QPR were above us, but ignoring the average to below-average teams we've essentially been shit against to try and make an obviously incorrect point is churlish As for your comment - you're so catty & childish, I make a firmly well reasoned post above and you're just... well words escape me so I'll use one of your own "idiot"

He looked a liability against Pompey as well giving away several free kicks in dangerous positions
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 Bruma has good potential but as i posted at half-time on the match thread i was worried we already had 4 yellow cards in the first half - sure enough eventually it came back to bite us. i was at work by the second half but i understand the ref had a stinker?
Fox92 Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 To be honest, Caveman, this thread is abit dopey. Of course he is a good player. He has played for both Chelsea and Holland. He had a great game at QPR I recall, but yesterday made a stupid and potential costly mistake. I'd love to see Bruma -- Vitor.

Stevosevic Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 He's at Chelsea, on a lengthy contract, has played Premiership and Champions league fixtures this season, has been capped by Holland, but yet he is not good enough for Leicester. Get a grip people, one bad performance.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 Would be ineresting to see what your thoughts were of Vitor when he got sent off against Pompey. That should never have been a red, wasnt anywhere near being last man.
Corky Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 He's a good player, made a couple of crucial interceptions yesterday and was superb at QPR.
ozleicester Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 I got only one red card in my more than 25 years competetive football and that was.... The ref had given a very dubious (in my opinion) penalty against me, the player missed the penalty and i walked up to the ref and suggested next time he should take the kick as well, just to make sure. this led to a sending off and was completely stupid.. however, i was young, under pressure and still learning how far to push things. Bruma looks to have done been in a similar situation, sorry for the lad.
